we spoke in the last couple of times that the idea that earning something earned pleasure is greater than received pleasure and that really that's why hashem created the world in this way that we have free will and we can choose and we can earn at the same time it still begs the question if there's an infinite being that created us for our pleasure okay we earned the pleasures that we have in this world but couldn't he been a little bit of a better job is it is this really the infinite pleasure that he created us for so i'd like to spend a little time just dealing with this so on the one hand our concept is that this world is the world that we choose and we earn but the real pleasure is in the world to come now even though when you help an old lady across the road you feel good about it and it's much more pleasurable because you did it and you created it but at the same time in this world for free will to be balanced the almighty takes away the our ability to feel tremendous infinite pleasure from doing a mitzvah right so that we have this free will mechanism in order to earn if every time that we did and then a mitzvah we did we did god's will we'll feel that infinite pleasure we would never do anything wrong and the pleasure of so to speak that self-destructive part of ourselves the yates of horror the evil inclination would be just as if it's nothing we would never choose it there would be no free will so therefore hashem reduces the amount of pleasure that you have in this world when you do something good to enable the net mechanism to function effectively but then when a person dies and the body and the soul separate and the soul is able to take pleasure without the crass physicality hampering its ability to feel the pleasure then you'll feel that infinite pleasure of all the mitzvahs that you've done all the good deeds everything you created with your free will wow that'll be infinite pleasure it's a little bit comparable to a a a light bulb that in this world the light bulb is dimmed it's covered with a surface that is opaque is that the right word that you can't get the light can't get through right yes and and therefore the light doesn't shine so greatly but in the world to come it'll be translucent it'll be just like a glass a clear glass bowl covering that light which allows the light to emit itself fully and therefore that's why it's as more beautiful as one moment of the chorus rule the spiritual bliss of the world to come that all of this world if you put all the pleasures of every single person from the beginning of time to the end of time into one moment it's pales by comparison to the pleasure that we will feel from the earned pleasure that we get for one moment in the world to come we'll speak a little bit more about this next time but we just want to give a little bit of the understanding that that pleasure is going to be that infinite pleasure that you're saying wow this is the pleasure that that infinite being created the world for because it is so great and thank you hashem we'll speak a little bit more about this world next time that's enough for one session
