Police Chief Rob Lawson on Arrest of Biased Incident Suspect

I'm Chief Rob Lawson of the Lakewood Police Department and the purpose of this video is to give out information of an arrest the police department made yesterday evening we had a complaint about a young girl 16 years old who was accosted by a suspect who grabbed the bottom of her trench coat the girl pulled away and was successfully able to get away from this individual uh this individual CED near the Princeton Avenue School around princent Avenue and fif Street following this we had another complaint of a mother and a 16-year-old daughter who were also um accosted they found they felt this individual was following them for a couple blocks and they were afraid and they ended up running away and calling the police and the individual will then disappear uh I would like to uh give a big thank you and and a lot of credit to the Lakewood civilian safety watch um the vehicle description was a black BMW and they found this vehicle an individual called it into the police department and the police did stop this vehicle on South Clifton Avenue uh the individual driving the uh vehicle was identified as a Raphael lorano Flores was 18 years old and lives in Lakewood on South Clover Mr Flores when he was stopped uh resisted the officers was extremely combative and finally was taken into custody Mr Flores uh was charged with obstruction resisting three counts of bias harassment as well as three counts of bias intimidation I just want want to alleviate some fears in the community this was not an attempted abduction there was no injury to any of the victims and the suspect is in custody and the suspect is an undocumented alien so there is a ice detainer on him so he will not be on the streets anytime soon and hopefully will be deported from this country very soon thank you for your attention and wishing everybody a very happy yff
