Pinebrook Road Gets Long-Awaited Sidewalks In Chestnut Ridge With Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

And thank you all for being here today. As your representative in Congress, keeping our Hudson Valley communities safe starts by investing in the infrastructure families rely on every day. That's why I fought to secure federal funding through the annual community project funding process, securing more than $32.6 6 million for sidewalk construction, pedestrian safety, and related infrastructure improvements across the Hudson Valley, uh, including here in the town of Ramipo and the village of Chestnut Ridge. This includes new sidewalks along Pinebrook Road. These improvements will help make it safer for children walking to school, families out for a walk, and residents navigating the community every day. I'm proud to have secured this funding and I appreciate the town of Ramipo for helping administer the project, working with our villages within including the village of Chestnut Ridge and working with all of our local officials to move it forward. This is exactly how government should work. Federal, state, town, and village leaders partnering together to deliver real results for our communities. I look forward to seeing construction get underway and continue to fight for improvements uh and investments that ensure the safety, strengthen our infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for everyone in our community. So, I thank you all for being here today and excited uh for today's ribbon cutting as uh we get prepared to open this sidewalk officially uh for all of our residents. Uh I want to uh introduce a few of our dignitaries. >> Very proud to be here at this ribbon cutting on this project. I I want to thank Congressman Lawler for once again getting us the funding uh that improves critically needed infrastructure and makes the residents of our town that much safer every day. So thank you and thank you to the village as well. Uh it's been uh a great project to partner with with you to get this uh accomplished. Again, as the congressman said, this is a great example of how government should work when you have every level, federal, uh, town and village, working together to do something that improves the lives of its residents. We saw just standing here before we began how many people drove by and said, "Thank you for putting this in. We needed these sidewalks." So, this is a very, very good day. Thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you, >> Congressman. There's not much that I could add to what was what has been said. Uh it is indeed a great day to see this u massive improvement in infrastructure coming to fruition. This is an area that needed it very badly. We see uh we see our neighbors and our constituents walking this the roads of this village very often. It is not safe. It is dangerous. And I'm very glad to for the efforts that the congressman took and for him to be able to deliver it so quickly and and so beautifully. We're really we're really thankful to the congressman and we're looking forward to for more projects. Thank you. >> A little hard to follow that up, but wow. Wow. Thank you, Congressman Lawler, for actually coming through. It's so uncommon to find a congressman that's there for us literally 247. Whether it be for projects for infrastructure or it be his office that is available 24/7 to constituents for services. I mean, day after day, what I hear from our residents, you just pick up a phone, whether it be a small issue about passports, whether it be something much larger, a week later, I hear, "Oh, it was no big deal. They got it done. It doesn't matter. Democrat, Republican, Congressman Mike Lawler is always there for us, and we truly, truly appreciate it." And of course, there are all the other distinguished gentlemen that are with us, the mayor, the supervisor, the legislator, and the unsung heroes, whether it be Rafie Silverberg and Mike Lawler's office and his staff, and so many others, including the local residents. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for your help when we needed it, and we look forward to many, many more projects that we can work on together. Thank you, Congressman, again. >> Thank you. And, um, I would be remiss to not thank again Congressman Lawler, um, our town supervisor, M Michael Spec, our county legislator, uh, Joel Freriedman, our my my trust deputy mayor, Kim Rose, trustee, uh, Shulie Framovich. Um, it's been a team effort uh, to do what we're doing here. And the village is actually celebrating its 40th year this year as a village. And historically, we've had, to my knowledge, four Congress people representing this district. Congressman Lawler being the fifth. And to my recollection, it is Congressman Lawler who has actually brought to fruition the needs of the village here. Uh and again, not R, not D, regardless of the party, regardless of where you are on the aisle, Congressman Lawler saw fit to uh to to to do what's necessary for us here in the village of Chestnut Ridge and in the town of Ramipo. So, uh we cannot thank him enough for um his efforts and we hope to continue working together with him with him and his office to continue uh improving things as we go along. Again, I thank you and Congressman, thank you. Thank you very much. >> Good afternoon all. Today is a very momentous day. We have our true public servant in Congressman Mike Lawler who brought home the proverbial bacon. Literally, he brought home the sidewalks. He brought to the village of Chestnut Ridge a million dollars. And there's some additional funding that is still pending, but this isn't going to be the last project here in Chestnut Ridge. coming from Congressman Lawler, true public servant, a true man of the people. And he took this matter to heart when he said that I need to improve the infrastructure and safety in my district, including Chestnut Ridge and the town of Ramapo. The million dollars is part of the $7 million that the congressman brought to the town of Ramapo. So on behalf of myself, on behalf of my colleagues and behalf of all the residents, our we tip our hat to you congressman for truly coming through for the village and for the entire town of Amipo. In addition, we couldn't have done this without the town of Ramipo and especially Supervisor Michael Spect who is a true public servant as well. And together all of us do whatever it takes so we can make the lives better for our mutual constituents and village residents. Thank you very much.
