Photoshop Puppet Warp Tutorial: Creating Caricatures & Exaggerated Proportions

Hello and welcome. In this video, we'll continue with the puppet warp tool or the marionette or whatever you'd like to call this amazing tool. Last time, we saw how you can take a single character and move it into several different poses, just like what's happening right now with this old man character undergoing some aggressive limb stretching. This time we'll focus on another function of this tool, a caricature style warp, which means exaggeratedly enlarging or shrinking various parts of the character. After adding uh pins, we'll go to the panel here and select the third option which is distort. Now, every time you drag a point, it distorts it in an exaggerated way. As you can see, dragging this pin upwards enlarges the upper body in an exaggerated manner and dragging it downwards shrinks it in an exaggerated way. Now, let's move our attention down to the other axes located at the base or the pins at the bottom. If we start dragging these specific pins, you'll notice that it also distorts the lower body in a rather ridiculous way, which is quite similar to the exaggerated proportions you might see in classic caricaturures or cartoons. It might not be very humane to torment an old man like this for no reason, but it can't be helped. Work is work. Learning is learning and experimenting with the options is essential. Wow. At that age with muscles like those, it looks like he's really back in shape. Now let's see another example with the village inkeeper the moshka of the SHTL. First let's uncheck the tick box for the mesh. Now that it's clear I'm adding the axis. Let's head over to the distort effect and start properly messing about with him for a bit. And so we've created a caricature character that emphasizes the upper body. Now we'll duplicate the original character and try another version of a caricature. This time we'll try to highlight other parts and reach a different result that's still humorous and comic. Now we've taken it more in the direction of a giant, a titan, a man of great stature. Now let's see another example. In the next example, we'll see how this tool affects uh a picture made up of several objects. In this case, two Klesma figures and a wine glass and grapes and a puddle of wine. And the interaction created between the parts that make up the picture when you pull when you drag a certain pin in a certain direction and how that affects the whole picture. Hey. Hey. Hey.
