we're back here on our Wednesday night stump the rabbi part 229 several years going and bem answering uh hundreds if not uh thousands of questions over the years after giving you some about relevant and current issues that uh pertain to everybody's life uh we done ask uh you know have you asked some questions and give us the answers tonight's sh is going to be for the and foran Leana sah s Leana uh launched our uh annual campaign for Kim the P campaign to raise uh as much money as possible to help uh the poor people in Israel uh last night we spoke about it briefly uh and uh there's been major updates uh since uh last night where we had a whole lot more aim uh a whole lot more Torah Scholars righteous sikim uh come to us than uh we even uh expected so uh the changes are uh instead of having the 800 of uh and uh several hundred I think somewhere around 600 uh fam uh that uh are going to be getting food baskets and so on so somewhere around 14500 uh families uh the number has uh now increased uh where we're going to have a thousand of completing the shot in a single day twice uh two different events uh one in Jerusalem one inila uh the first event is going to be I believe Sunday and the second one will be uh just a few days later so uh that's a big thing and each one of these aim these thousand aim is going to get uh money to help them and their family uh which on the average are 11 uh uh people uh to get money to eat for the uh for the holiday for PES and then uh in addition to those thousand families those thousand aim we have uh quite a few other families that need our help and uh we simply can't say no we we just have to rely onh to provide for us uh to give us the ability to do it but we've already committed and we've said yes and we've made the orders with the supermarkets with the merchants and with everybody uh already started transferring uh the you know whatever money we uh we needed to to make down payments and so on in so many words since last night the estimated 12,000 people that uh were expecting to uh you know feed in this uh holiday increased to uh well over8 18,000 uh 18,000 people are going to uh get food and financial assistance from there holiday andm we're looking for as many of you as possible to uh to partner with us to help us to have a piece of this extraordinary Mitzvah uh to prepare for the holiday but the question is why would anybody want to give uh of theirs of what they the money they worked hard for uh and uh to give it to a bunch of people that they don't know of course yes it's a nice deed it's nice things to do but um you know we see that there's quite a few people that uh either they don't uh like to give or if they give they give uh their spare change they give uh whatever they feel like uh they could live without let's say they can't live without a $50,000 kitchen or $100,000 car but they can live without uh $50 here and there uh but in reality in sh uh the uh wants us to be the opposite of that now why would anybody want to be the opposite of that is the last inph in the book of Exodus and uh this is the part where we're learning about the uh all the uh building of the mishkan uh the different parts uh and certainly part of it is also the the the different eight different garments of the Ken uh and this Paras has an endless amount of teachings but we're going to focus on something that I'm did this how did that people are very worried about their competition even if their competition doesn't even know they exist this starts at childhood many times where you know you give the kids a present instead of enjoying the present that they got the first thing they look at is what did everybody else get or what color did you get oh how big did you get or how come he got more or how come he got less it's a competition constant competition well he did better than you that's why he got a bigger present oh really wow and they feel bad about it as they grow up if they don't learn more and more to and start fixing their midot this trait becomes worse why they start becoming jealous jealous of other people's stuff not just their siblings which is a natural tendency but they become jealous of strangers start looking at oh look at this guy he got a new bike how come he got a new bike I don't have a new bike well look at them they they're doing remodeling to their house how come they're getting a remodeling to their house we don't have a our house is almost as old as the BET mikdash how come oh look at them they got a new car they had a new car last year now they have another new car we're still we're still uh using the original Ford Model Model T how come how come they oh you heard he just uh got married to uh the's daughter how come he got such a good girl how come she got such a good guy how come oh you heard what they're doing they just launched a new product new product how they just launched a new product last month yeah yeah it's another new product this one is even better than the last one what about us no I don't know we we're still working on our uh fixing we're still working on fixing the original how come they're getting so much more than us and people focus on their competition so much so that they lose focus on what they're supposed to be doing and sometimes even if somebody is their beloved their brother their sister their partner their best friend when they hear that this person got something that they want for themselves even if it's just a simple vacation picture that makes the person look happy they become jealous in the best case scenario they're not so happy that somebody else got more than them they go into a housewarming party instead of coming there with excitement to bless somebody mazalov they start counting all the light fixtures how many lights does he have look at that one two three 15 16 how many lights do you have what's the electric bill here what did I send you a bill is that are you asking because you want to pay it are you asking because you're jealous how many bathrooms you have here how much you paying rent did you buy or did you uh rent and people are constantly counting other people's money one of the lowest forms of humanity but unfortunately it's coming people spend entire days and parts of their life talking about the success of others this billionaire and that millionaire and this celebrity and that business uh success people are interested in that stuff so much so that they forget that they have work to do themselves but they're not interested because they're happy to hear that this guy signed a big contract or this person married a nice person or that person just got something they've worked really hard for no they're looking at it with jealousy with envy and in uh polite way they're not happy that other people are succeeding and this leads to evil eye this is the reason why person has to be very careful before they decide to put themselves and their business and their life in the spotlight because the more you succeed the more people are looking at you and certainly can bring on you even if they mean well they're not happy in their heart for your success they have a little bit of envy and jealousy unfortunately it's not a good thing for you not just them but what's is what had when he heard that Mosen was chosen to be the leader despite the fact that he was younger the fact that he wasn't with am is for so many years while Aron Quin was he was chosen aronin was genuinely happy and how do we know he was genuinely happy completely to the highest level even more so than if he would have been picked himself because gave him the what does the have to do with that what is it you get a gift you did a good thing you get a cookie what is it before happiness when he sees the material and the spiritual success of others while the material success is much easier to cause a elevated person to be happy because great blessed them with money good they'll have food they'll they'll be able to do good things with it but the spiritual success when you see someone and they pray with a lot of kavana or they just completed an enormous amount of Torah or they remember a lot of Torah or they gave a great sh they wrote a great book that people love and they're enjoying and they're getting from it even though there's the the created jealousy for the to be used for one to be jealous of the other in order to elevate the uh the uh uh the ambition of both to get even higher but still when you see somebody succeed much more than you in the world of Tor sometimes it's hard to be happy that he did a and you're still starting but the said say 18 years he worked on this Mida to the point where he was able to be happy as a result of other people's success in every aspect even more than his own success so theen theen that lowers the Judgment has these golden chains to tie it to the heart because the chains unlike a something that's like a uh bracelet of some kind the chains signifying that is has to know that we are just like a chain where each link is the same size and value as the next and if one breaks the whole chain becomes worthless because the biggest reason of why it exists is in order to to connect two things but if there's a break everyone loses in order for a Jew to to elevate themselves to the path of having they have to see their fellow Jews as part of the same chain where you don't view yourself as a bigger part or more important part each one is part of the chain each one has its significance each one has its beauty but another reason why it's made out of gold is this is my God and I will glorify him we want to do in the best possible way to show that we love the because for our benefit not his he doesn't this is the reason why people that are jealous decrees they will not be resurrected by the Dead uh resurrected at the time of the resurrection of the Dead why because jealousy is a form of heresy it's in essence thinking that Hashem made a mistake that he gave him or her something that he should have given you Heretics do not get resurrected with the Dead and the reason why people have different forms of jealousy is because of a weakness of a weakness in the fact that whatever a decreed for you to receive you got it no one can take it from you what's his is his and what's yours is yours he can never touch what belongs to you even if he tries and you can never touch what belongs to him even if you try even if he actually outright steals something from you if it belongs to you if Hashem decree that this is yours you will get it back so the more we have AA the easier it is for us to have why because we know that oh he got a bless blessing now look he found a wife look they just had kids look they had good blessings great wonderful he just became a billionaire amazing why you can ask him for a donation no you ask him for alone no but you need no but still doesn't matter let him enjoy his is his if he wants to give if he wants to help he's going to help but no no no I'm happy because he's happy because he's succeeding this is also by the way the reason why if anyone ever ask themselves why they like to donate while other people don't like to donate there are some people that they'll come to they'll get free stuff they'll get books they'll ask questions but they won't contribute they won't contribute or if they contribute they contribute so little it's as if they didn't While others make contributing as a key part to their life even if they don't necessarily watch every lecture or or get every free giveaway they like to give why this all has to do with while the person that likes to give he likes to give because he wants other people to also have a part of his Blessing he also wants other people to have good she wants other people to be happy other people to eat other people to benefit while the other person doesn't like to give they may lie to themselves and say no I can't afford it because I have credit card bills or I have this bill I have that no no it's really you don't like to give you're cheap you're stingy why because you worry that if you give to others somehow you will lose out as a result that what other people benefit somehow it's to your detriment it's is one of the top ways to ruin your own blessings and your own life and your own happiness and all has to do with do you believe that a runs the world or do you think you do now everyone knows what kazal teaches it's in the Tora it's in the M it's in the it's in the it's in causing other people Financial harm being a showoff with your wealth being a glutton being late with your payment to your employees or people that you owe money to when you don't have to be late you just simply choose to be late shaming other people being jealous overcharging people and exploiting them mistreating converts Orphans of widows mocking Torah Scholars mocking the Torah refusing to forgive cursing people vulgar speech ignoring modesty and others and all of this is full of sources literally it's it's it's genius genius list that when you read it and you understand this is the word of the Living God it literally makes you scared to death to do anything wrong because every one of these things is something you can do just like that if you're not paying attention to your actions and every one of these things can ruin the par that a person is supposed to get but as one of them said Shabbat and and says that the blessing for your six days of work that you're allowed to work on whether you work six days or four days or one day one hour doesn't make a difference the blessing you will have for your work relies on Shabbat but as the mishna says hasem decreed that the best vessel to protect a blessing is Shalom is peace and therefore says the the Satan who cannot stand to see Jewish people with success with money uses all of his strength all of his Tools in order happy about that what are you not happy that you don't have or you not happy that he has a little bit of both he says many people are not happy that other people are more suc successful to them in fact one of the things that causes them the worst anxiety and unhappiness is other people's greater success than them in fact one of their motivators to want to succeed is because they want to have more than other people not because they just want to like they say I want to do a lot of good things what what's what's motive because they see other people look I remember this classmate this guy I don't understand how he has more than me how he started an AI company how he started a tech company how he started a law and I'm still you know plumber I'm still a this I don't understand wait why are you so unhappy about his success now if you're saying you want to be more successful fine no problem but what is what does it have to do with the fact that your former classmate neighbor brother sister younger older is successful what does it have to do with it why aren't they too independent issues you know why because you're unhappy that other people are successful now why are you unhappy because other people are successful because subconsciously you think that their success is to your detriment somehow they stole your money even though it wasn't yours and that all has to do with the lack of and if you have a lack OFA certainly you're never going to get to having a and if you don't have a you're missing out on the greatest tool to Ultimate success and happiness in every aspect hey each time that you win you take down the other guy you get $5 so there was 100 people that means 50 people paired with other 50 50 people and they had 10 minutes to arm wrestle as many times as they can to see how many times they can win after 10 minutes of course everyone's tired but they did what they had to do the rabbi asked the first pair okay so what was the tally and Yan says I won five times and Ruben won three times okay great so you get $25 and he gets $15 all right listen it's better than nothing it's great the next guy so Shimon what' you get I won four times okay what about him he won twice all right so you get $20 he gets $10 all right and that's the way how it went pair after pair three three times and four times two times five times everyone was more or less the same until they got to the last pair they got to the last pair UDA says I won 300 times huh 300 times okay what a young get he also got 300 times whoa everyone is amazed how is that POS possible you won 300 times he won 300 times how did you do it so you sadik said to them while everybody else was trying to win by defeating their fellow we decided we're going to help each other so we figured I'll let him win and he'll let me win as many times as we can why should I be the resistance for his success and why should he be the resistance to my success and instead of fighting each other and trying to stop each other from succeeding like everybody else is doing in the world we actually helped each other succeed so he won I won one one there's no pressure we just tried to do it as many times as possible and both go got to 300 that means each one got 1500 from here we see how peace brings a whole lot more blessings than wanting to cause other people failure in order for you to succeed there was one time a rich woman they lived in a uh town called Shino or shin and this Rich Jewish woman she had a uh maid servant that was a young orphan young orphan girl that lived with her and the arrangement was that she's going to give her a room in the house the big fancy house that she had she has her own room and she has to take care of the house she has to take care of the shopping she has to go with her everywhere and she gets also a little bit of uh money too one day the two of them the rich woman and her young orphan made vant both Jews they go to uh the market and as they go to the market they see that it's publicized that the lottery award to whoever wins is an astronomical number something no one has ever even seen before a million Rubles and even second place is 10 ,000 rubles even though the rich woman already has plenty of money you know as the says you give them 100 they want 200 you give them 200 they want 400 someone that loves money will never have enough money so she bought herself a ticket and even the young orphan girl bought herself a ticket with a little bit of money that she had and in those days you had to buy the ticket you have to register your address that this address belongs to that ticket you know there was no internet to TV or anything like that in those days in order for them to know who the one they look at the ticket number and the addresses and they go and they to that person's house and tell them that they won so they both bought a ticket who knows maybe maybe we'll win maybe she'll win who knows so few days passed at 7:00 in the morning and the messenger from the lottery knocks on the door the young orphan girl sleeping it's early in the morning she doesn't have to uh she doesn't start her day yet but the rich businesswoman was up she was awake she's an early riser she opens the door she's happy to see Messengers from the lottery you say to her ma'am the ticket that's registered to this address won the second prize in the lottery congratulations 10,000 rubles oh wow wonderful wonderful thank you what great way to start the day thank you he gives her the confirmation that has the number on it leaves and she looks at the confirmation and then she realizes wait a minute this is not my number oh this is this is the maid servant's number now even though she has plenty of money she also has plenty of yet and her yet overcame every part of her goodness for a few moments to the point that she did something that unheard of she snuck into the poor little oran's girl's room and switched the tickets while the girl sleeping she switched the tickets and went right away to the lottery to collect her 10,000 rubles she figured listen Technically she's my servant what's hers is mine technically the money she got I paid it you know she rationalized her evil few hours later there was another knock on the door Now by now the young orphan girl is awake and she opens the door and it's another representative from the lottery ma'am we have confirmed that this address that has this ticket won the grand prize of the lottery one million Rubles wow amazing wow amazing you're welcome to come collect your prize as soon as possible and of course this changes her entire life this is the blessing of all blessings but over our shoulder the rich woman is eating our heart out why the ticket that that won the grant prize was her ticket but she switched it because she was greedy and she went and stole the 10,000 of course this is eating her heart but is she going to admit listen I stole your ticket as they say what are people not going to do for money and this rich woman says listen I have to uh come clean you know I want to do chuva wow what happened listen I made a mistake the overcame me and you know everybody makes mistake but I'm really embarrassed but I have to I want to do Chua I want to do chuva so just because I sinned I don't want you to sin because of me you know me sin because of you why why what are you talking about you know everybody says these things they try to justify their evil in all types of ways they call them uh slick tongue speakers says listen really at 7:00 in the morning they came and the ticket they one really that was your ticket I actually uh stole your ticket and I switched it so uh I don't know I'm sorry I'm sorry I did it but uh listen I I I just why why should we continue like this let me just give you back my ticket give you back your ticket you give me back my ticket and that's it let's just move on that way of course the young orphan girl says what are you talking about what are you crazy might be D first of all who knows if what you're saying is even true and second of all even if you switch the tickets according to the Tora that's it you did you made the deal you switched it it became my possession it's my ticket that's why I'm not giving it back to you no but it's m listen it's my ticket it's my reward it's my money that's it now they went to the bed the bed of the rebi of shave big sadik kados both women told him their side of the story after he hears the story from both of them he says I have to uh review and think about it and give you the answer the Pak after his review he tells the women okay I've concluded that the here is that both tickets belong to the young orphan girl now both girls both women are completely surprised you know the possibilities in both of their minds is that either everything stays the same or it switches never in their wildest dreams that they think that this would possibly be and the Rabbi says to them you see decreed this day to be a day of ma of Good Fortune for the young woman and therefore when the lottery was announced the ticket that she had in her possession one but after you switch to tickets after the rich woman switched the tickets that didn't change the maal therefore the second ticket won meaning that if it wasn't for that switch if the rich woman would have kept her ticket she wouldn't have won the win the Maz the fortune belongs to the young girl and in fact the fact that you admit that you stole obviously shows that it's her ticket and once you gave her your ticket that's it it became our property either way that was the but says look at the M that you could learn from here look at the Mard that you can learn from here from this true story first of all one of the things that makes people frustrated is when they work really hard and they don't get results or when they see other people get better results when it seems like they work less so
