[music] >> Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is Parsha Shlach. The question of the week is, how can we reach the highest places? So in this week's Torah portion, Parsha Shlach, we learn about the spies. The spies, they don't want to go into the land of Israel. And Rebbe asks, why wouldn't the spies, they're holy people, they're the leaders of the Jewish people, Moshe Rabbeinu chose them, why wouldn't they want to go into the land of Israel? And the Rebbe explains, because they try the the spies felt that prayer, speech, is the real power, and the real power you receive by staying in the desert and living a spiritual life and not have to deal with the physical world. And that was a a a a a true from their perspective. Comes along Calev and he says, "Vayas Calev." He made them everyone quiet. What does it mean he made them quiet? It wasn't just about being quiet, because quiet represents the idea of bittul, acceptance. And he showed them that when you have bittul, and when you have the level of acceptance, you don't have to be afraid of the world, you can transform the world, and you can reach the highest places. So the answer to the question, how can you reach the highest places? Bittul, acceptance. That will take you to the highest places and you'll be able to achieve anything you have to accomplish.
