Parsha Re’eh Chasidic Torah thought from Lubavitcher Rebbe by: Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz

Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is Parshas Re'eh. The question of the week is, how do we connect to the essence of God? So, in this week's Torah portion, the Torah begins and it says, "Re'eh anochi noseain lifnaychem hayom bracha u'klala." Give a look, see, I, the essence of Hashem, I'm giving you the blessing and the curse. And everyone says, "If it's If it's the essence of Hashem, blessing, I get it. What's the idea of the curse?" And the Rebbe explains and he says something very powerful. Hashem, when he created the world, the goal was to create a place where God's concealed, but to be found in the lowest places when we transform the darkest place of the world. So, in other words, when we go ahead and we do a blessing, and we do something good, yeah, we internalize God. And what do we get from? In Kabbalah, it's called we get it in an apnimius, we get an internal way. However, when we go ahead and we transform a curse, a sin into something positive, then we connect and we bring in the greatest light. So, the answer to the question, how to connect to the essence of God? By taking something negative, by taking a challenge, by taking a struggle, by taking a sin and transforming it into something positive, you will connect to the essence of God.
