Parsha Ki Tavo Chasidic Torah thought from Lubavitcher Rebbe by: Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz

Welcome to this week's Torah lesson. This week's Torah portion is parshas Ki Savo. The question of the week is, what hidden gift came from the destruction of the Temple? So, in this week's Torah portion, we learn about the mitzvah of bringing the bikurim, the first fruits. So, the medrash says that Moshe Rabbeinu saw in in in divine property, so oh my gosh, the Temple's going to be destroyed. You're not going to bring the first fruits. So, he established we should pray three times a day. And by praying three times a day, we will accomplish what the first fruits accomplished. So, everybody asks, one second, the first fruits was brought every day. It wasn't brought every day. So, what's this idea of prayer every day and three times a day? So, the Rebbe explains he says something very powerful. What's the idea of the first fruits? The first fruits was brought before even the trumah, before the tithe. It's the first, reishis, the first. What else is considered the first? The Jewish people. Because the world Hashem created before Hashem created the world, seven things existed. Two of them was Torah and the Jewish people. And the Jewish people is even before Torah. Now, the fact that we're so powerful, we exist before the world was created, that's concealed. We don't feel it, we don't experience it. In order to experience it, how do we how do we reveal it within our our lives? That happens through prayer. And by going ahead and praying, we bring the reishis, the first of the Jewish people, our real power into a revealed state. Just like the first fruits in the times of the Temple revealed the power of the Jewish people. Now, the Rebbe says, one second. The question we had was what hidden gift came from destruction? Exactly. Cuz in the times of the Temple, the bikurim were brought in a limited time, not every day. However, today we have the power every day, three times a day, to pray. And by praying, we will reveal our source. And our source exists way before the world was created, even before Torah. And by revealing our source, we'll have the energy and the power to live a most amazing and powerful life. Thanks so much for joining us for our weekly Torah lesson.
