Parashat Devarim: The Value of Honesty

and is and may all of us get closer to hem we uh get to a point in life where at some some people get to it when they're in their 20s some get there when they're in their 30s some unfortunately don't get to it until they're in their 70s and towards the latter part of their life where they realized that is much more important than someone can be perfectly healthy but unfortunately completely depressed and when you're depressed you don't really have much of a purpose to live whether you're depressed because of uh something that actually happened whether it's a uh money issues family issues relationship issues there's countless issues that am is has and uh one of the uh privileges of of doing kiru and meeting so many different people is that you get to know a lot of different stories and unfortunately a lot of stories are very sad where you're seeing that there's marriage problems health problems and just countless endless amount of problems that has and very few actually know what the solution is the solution we know it's just a very if you want to take the medicine when says that is the healer of All Flesh and he's The Miracle Worker he wasn't joking he actually meant it just like when he said anything else in a Torah he's not a human as he said to uh to balak and Bam he's not a human he doesn't change his mind he doesn't uh have a uh conflicting opinions when he says something it's Eternal once we get to a point where we realize that and take that into account then we have a better shot at actually using this medicine that he calls the Torah now each week we have a sh at my house or in different locations like today and we go over the Paras but because this so many new people one of the things that I do with the Paras is that um to make sure that we not only ever going to get married am I going to have kids is is this stock going to go up to a million all the questions that everyone has but the reality of it is is that sometimes we have personal questions we have things that are only specific to us should I call this company back should I sign this deal all types of things that are specific to you and if you learn the par deeply enough you'll actually find the answer it's custom made so we try to find different Secrets within each par but the most important part is to learn the m to learn what is is the key part of it that we need to learn that's going to apply to our life to make us better people because to just learn a bunch of stories maybe learn a few more MIT maybe uh work on our exterior a little bit more okay it's fine but if we're How To Succeed in Business how to succeed in marriage how to succeed in anything you want is in the Torah everything and anything you want is in the Torah all we need to know is how to find it now this week we find ourselves in the most difficult week in the history of our nation the week of TSH we have a major shabbaton event uh this weekend in New York in bet Gabriel bharian Center in uh in for our effort he doesn't give it to us for our execution we're not obligated to do every single mitvah and that's the only way we're going to get to ganen we're obligated to exert all effort to do every single Mitzvah we're obligated to try we're obligated to learn everything we can to know what we need to do once we try we're already succeeded in hashem's book we succeeded even if you failed but you tried you already got the reward in school or at work you try you fail they're not going to tell you oh you know what such a nice guy we're going to pass you anyway Mr Jones yeah you um we're sorry your uh your case is lost you're going to lose your entire business but uh we still like to get our feet for representing you in court so you should go borrow some money from a bank to pay us before I have to go to work that's good but if after 6 months of not getting any income you already start getting stressed then that doesn't actually mean that you have a year worth of money you have 6 months worth of money because you have to calculate when are you going to start getting stressed out when is and we're not going to be tested because it will be tested there are three things that someone has to understand the only way to achieve them is through self-sacrifice one Tor you want to learn Torah and actually get to a point of actually knowing something in your life you have to know you have to sacrifice yourself you have to learn at night you have to learn in the morning you have to learn during the day you have to learn all the time you have to sacrifice when you're sick when to happen you're not going to achieve anything significant with an easy life you have to sacrifice you have to realize that there's going to be difficulty especially if you want to reach these three big goals which are the purpose of life you want to reach it's the only purpose of living in this world you came here to work you came here to earn your diamonds that you can actually use them in the actual money you earn in this world is doesn't count for anything over there the house you build for 1 million 5 million 10 million in this world stays here can't bring it with you the 16 cars also don't come the bank account stays here the stock portfolio stays here everything stays here the only thing that comes there is your MIT you show up there with a lot of mitv you're very very rich you
