There's a certain kind of liquor that has a worm  inside of it. Can it be kosher? Would the OU   ever certify a bottle with a worm inside of it?  That's a good question. What you're referring to   is mezcal, a Mexican agave based drink similar  to tequila. Tequila is from one region. Mezcal   is from a variety of regions, and in a specific  area to sort of identify the product is coming   from that area. They take a worm which is native  to that region and they put it into the bottle.   Technically speaking, tolaim, are what we call  nosen tam lifgam, and that means that any flavor   that it would impart would be a negative  flavor and therefore would be permitted. So,   could you technically drink the the bottle?  Don't eat the worm, but could you drink the   bottle that the worm sat in? Yes. But,  you know, it's not palatable in my mind,   but technically it probably would not negatively  impact the kashrus status of the product.
