Symbol of Quality

kosher certification says to people in places that this product has a symbol of Purity it gives people assurances and comfort in knowing that the product has been inspected it allows us to take the product into areas where kosher may not be important but people recognize the importance of the symbol we have found through our research that 20% of non-jews view kosher quality there's a separate set of eyes watching the process and assuring not only that it meets the laws of kosha but part of those laws include cleanliness and that it is a cleaner purer environment I never felt that the kosher symbol was just a way to identify with the Jewish Market I've always felt it was a way to identify the quality of what's in the can or the bottle or the box and that's the real statement that you've made is that somebody cared enough to inspect and other people cared enough to comply and the two of those make for great product every time there is a food scare kosher sales go up because the consumer has a recognition that the supervising agencies they are supervising production of food with a far more strident eye than government Regulators to the consumer the OU represents the Assurance it is to the observant je a necessity to the nju It's a Good Housekeeping seal of approval our customer customers tell us and our data would tell us that having an OU designation on on our products appeals more broadly the consumers who come into those retail outlets and therefore we get better support on those products and we get more shelf space what's been very important for me is the global reach of OU we are a global company I mean we've got operations all over the world we approached the OU and said we have an operation in China we'd like to have it uh certified it was a lot of work on the part of both parties to get this going But ultimately we were successful you you symbolizes for our people inspection and it symbolizes that they've had to pass a test a test of quality most of our people are fully aware of the process of certification of OU and they are fully aware that this is sort of an ongoing way for them to express the best uh that we have to offer as the hindes company the OU keeps us all on our toes they represent a safety net for me it gives us a great deal of comfort but we're never going to have any issues with less than perfect environment for the manufacturer of food products there's a a variety of people in the manufacturing area in production planning all of whom are touched in one way or another by the OU our Rabbi coordinator Rabbi swika is dedicated to customer service he sometimes sets a high standard for us that gives us a little bit of angst but in the end he will do whatever he can to get back to us the certificate that we need no you stands for all the quity qualities that we're trying to imbue in Our Brands and all the qualities we're trying to communicate and again that partnership has just grown over the years I would Envision that over the next years uh we'll continue to remain involved with the OU there are a number of products or things that we are working on that have yet to come to Market that we think will be appealing very broadly and we'll want to ensure that those you know have the OU certification um as we go forwards and so I look forward to a long-standing relationship the OU it's not a profit-driven intention it's not government workers it's people who are doing a good deed not just earning a living and the consumer has come to realize that [Music]
