If I eat a candy, do I make a Bracha
Achrona afterwards? The answer is you do,
if you eat enough. It depends how much you eat
and how fast you eat it. If you eat a Kizayit,
which is about the size of half an egg, and
you eat it within three to four minutes,
then you would make a Bracha Achrona, usually if
it’s candy it’s probably a Borei Befashot at the
end. But oftentimes, a person
does not eat it fast enough,
they might eat one sucking candy in three to
four minutes, in which case you do not make a
Bracha Achrona. So a person might be eating many
candies, much more than a Kizayit over a span of
time. Unless it was this span of time, you have to
have three to four, some say even slightly more,
it could be up to nine minutes according
to some opinions, But if you didn't eat
a Kizayit of candy within that amount of time,
then you do not say Bracha Achrona at the end.
