all right here we go all right good morning everyone Booker to and uh great to see everyone this morning let me Begin by uh announcing the sponsor for today's Shear R gold chatter Shear has been sponsored for the academic yearas all right we have the uh the we have the honor this morning to uh to learn the words of rook and to study words of ruk teachings about erel which are uh which are timely which have uh greater significance these days as uh as we're going through challenging times and our learning this morning should be Aus for our soldiers and um with a prayer for the release of those that are in captivity amen and for those that have been injured the pits to Im so we have uh all of our brethren in mind this morning and our learning should be a for them okay let's uh let's begin now and uh as we do on a regular basis we begin with the words of R cook we are studying from the the work eret the beautiful compilation of rabish Shai Shapiro based on the writings of rook and uh just to um just to highlight where we are we're at the top of the page but we're eret this is perig Zion and it's um and it's Zion it's actually the last piece that's found in chapter 7 chapter 7 and it's the uh the piece the pisca uh the seventh piece that's found in uh in the in the seventh chapter if you look at the end it's interesting where it's from it says MOS which means it's from a some announcement which was written by Riv cook and uh again it's it's here we see that the the rebi RAB Shai Shapiro that he's familiar with his teachings not only the the letters of R cook and the formal teachings but here he's taking an excerpt from something which R cook wrote as a u as some kind of announcement maybe it was on a poster maybe was some letter that went out to uh to a community maybe it went out to community in Kut as well not sure exactly what this uh what this is from but that that that's what's quoted here and what we're going to see this morning is uh is a piece in which we see the um the emotion that R cook has in terms of the return to the land of Israel and we're going to highlight really we're going to focus on one idea in particular from this piece from these few lines of Rook so let's begin with R there is no greater strength that can lift up the sound of the the show that that chauffeur will be heard by the entire nation of Israel from uh the the rising of the Sun to the setting of The Sun poetic language of r with a great sound there is no greater there is no greater strength of the Jewish people nothing more powerful than the idea of the Jewish people returning to the land of Israel actually I was at a talk last night his name is Shimon aist dorf he's actually a very well-known writer he wrote a lot of books in yeah from Baltimore originally so he's working on a program he said Neves beves is working on inviting Jews to come back to the land of Israel he's working on a program of inviting shs shs to be congregations to be coming as a congregation to the land of Israel and he believes that it's that it's going to happen that he's already speaking to a number of rabbis across the country and communities together as a sh to get up and to and to make alah and he yes he he believes and he see there's one community that is already I'm not sure where they're from but already has has arrived about 70 families bringing their entire Community together to settle here in Israel so Riv cook says Riv cook says that uh there's nothing more powerful there's nothing more remarkable than this sound of the chauffeur the sound of the the sound of redemption and inviting the Jewish people back to of Israel second line or the third line and what is the sound that is heard from the chauffer get up my children and bring G to the nation that is that is a tired Nation arise all of you as one person a nation ofil with all of your strength with all the universe which has been blessed that has been blessed by God and quickly leak all at Kesh again when is Rook writing this this isn't nees Benes you know 2024 this is 2010 with a handful few thousand Jews a little bit more than a few thousand 880,000 70,000 Jews land of Israel says Maru quickly make your way back to the Holy Land give it back to the B to the children to the builders they're returning from all the corners of the G of the exile to bring back to life all of the the Wasteland of Israel to rebuild that which has been broken that which has been destroyed now the word Nish there when I first read I thought it was Nish meaning the soul but that's actually not the translation and means to to plant again like that which has been desolate now that last verse and let's just take a look at that for a moment he is referring to and this is one of the challenges in Reading R cook and one the Beauties beautiful parts of rip cook is that often he is alluding to and taking just a word or two or a few words he's alluding to a PK that's found in Tanakh and here you need to be an expert a master in Tanakh to read of cook and luckily there are footnotes I would not know this otherwise but what he is quoting he's quoting from a that's found in if you go to the bottom of the page this Source number three and it's actually the that's read as we're making our way in preparation for p and it says the following it's and all the nations of the world will know those that are remain around you that I'm the Lord your God I am the god that will build that which has been destroyed again that's the language that ruk says that he uses above and I have replanted the Wasteland this is a vision this is a prophecy thatal has that a time will come that the nations of the world will see and he prophesied this 2,000 years ago that the nations of world will see that the Jewish land the Jewish homeland will come back to life I'm the Lord God who said it and I did it or I will do it so that is um that is the way the Rook ends this piece with a an illusion to this to this prophecy ofel to highlight one other idea from this and that is the the the term that he uses it's it's two three lines up where he says so what is that term that he uses the Bon B Bon anybody know what he's what he's alluding to it's something that we say in daving that's right that's right so what is that from that's found in a gamar that's actually the last gamar that's found in Bros it's the way that you make a is the way that the the first comes to a close and the uh the gamar says the following this is Source number two if you go one one uh one paragraph down it's inos it's the very end as you see it that's the the very last paragraphs I'm just to see we'll just kind of move back a line or two just to appreciate that this in context interesting statement which is actually kind of a difficult a challenging statement says that that they don't have any rest in this world right why don't they have Rest In This World In This World why don't they have rest I don't I'm asking that's what the gamar says the gar says in this world they don't have rest why not they're learning yeah they're they're working right they're giving sh they're they're doing right there's no rest but it says also the and they don't have rest in the in the next World either interesting what does that mean I thought the next world is all about rest so there's a story I again I'm not sure what the answer is SCH carak they once said Shak that you're going to go to geham after all the all the things that you did wrong you did a lot of good things but you know you were hugging women and you did things that weren't so you know so Yer so he said I'm happy to go to geham there's a lot more work to do in geham in terms of doing kiru and everything that I you know that's what I've been doing my whole life I want to continue doing that in the next World also so um so maybe that's what I don't know that's what maybe that's what the gamar means as well so he doesn't have rest in the next world and why what is that based on and this is a verse and this is something that we're I think we've heard many times in life shanar right go from you've heard that term you should go from you should go from strength to strength that's the uh that's the proof text so strength to strength is what's that fin very good that's right that's right and it's the way that this m finishes as well so that strength of strength is from from this in this world and in the next world to have the strength to uh to accomplish to succe to achieve so this and this is brought in our daving this is the way that uh here in ER at least that the way even in Ash that you end daving with with this paragraph sh so the the the gamar says that don't read the um my children but my Builders my Builders and what that refers to is the idea that that they're building this world as well in other words not just the idea that they're that they're teaching Torah but that's the very Foundation of what it means to to build to build a world of and of and of kindness and of righteousness Ru cook when he uses this term when he talks about those that are returning to the land of Israel bring it back it should be brought back Bon what is r cook referring to why does he use that terminology here the Bon what do you think what's that very good very good so ruk as we know he loved both communities he loved the B he loved the children the sikim right those that were following the ways of Hashem the traditional path so to speak but he also the bone right those that are building the land of Israel that he loved them as well and he said about them that they're the holy of holies that was one of the controversial statements very good even theim and that was one of the controversial statements that he makes in his book oot and and many put that safer in because of that in that in that safer he writes that those that are settling the land of Israel those that are building The Bona that they have a Holiness that's not found in the community that's just sitting and learning and teaching Torah they did not they did not appreciate that uh that statement it really was a radical statement talk about people that that did not keep shabas and Kus and didn't believe in Hashem to talk about them with holiness so that is uh that's s of cook he uses that terminology here the Bon right which is based on the gamar so what I'd like to spend a few minutes on is the actually the opening line is the opening line of this piece and this is something that we're all familiar with because we say it every single day in daving but just to to go a little bit deeper and to analyze it and again hopefully to actually bring to our daving a uh even a deeper more profound cavana so how does he speak about the returns to the land of Israel and he speaks about it in many ways but here in this the piece that we're looking at he speaks about it as the sound of the there's going to be a sound of the chauffeur that is going to be heard from one end of the Earth to the other and the question is what is Ru cook referring to when he talks about the sound of the chauffeur and I think it's something that we that were all somewhat familiar with this idea that the chauffeur that there's going to be a chauffeur at the end of days that is going to be heard the question is is that a literal sound literal chauffeur that's going to be sounded does it mean a call from Hashem and um let's look at the following which we've there there are many pukin by the way that talk about the sound of a chauffeur at the end of days and I want to highlight just three suim with you which are found within ding of rashash in the daving rashash in the section of chofos which we're familiar with there are 10im and that's really what makes up the major part of chro are 10 sukim that are all speaking about the sound of the chauffeur now we have the chauffeur at the AA we have that chauffeur right that relates to rashash Shana we have the chauffeur of harini the sound of the chauffeur but as we come to the end of sukim and those are what some theim are referring to in the mus rash go to page two which should be the other side of page one and here this is the last three Pim that are found in chaos in the section of chaos an and we say the following and our prophets say the following and this is the prophecy and we see we can already look at this yes yesah and from zakarya so the first from from yes says what that all the inhabitants of the world all the Dwellers of the earth that they're going to see a banner on the mountain and they're going to hear the sound of the chauffeur so at the end of days there's going to be a calling with a sound of the chauffer by the way from this p is that a reference to the Jews or or all all people all people it sounds like all people right it sounds like the what's that g gamb yes it sounds like everyone is going to hear that so that that's interesting in other words the sound of the show for this Messianic call is going to be one that the Jews are going to hear but yesaya seems to be the inhabitants of the world the Dwellers of the earth that doesn't sound you know Jewish necessarily now the next PK and again this is what we say on uh on rashash isay so this is from as you see on the page K Zan it says the following and I think this this p is probably the most welln because I think there's Melodies to this and on that day there's going to be a great sound of the chauffer and they're going to come from the from Assyria they're going to come from Egypt so here we see as well takau that there's going to be a great sound of the chauffeur they're going to come from from different places from Usher from MIT and by the way I saw a very interesting explanation Ash yes it's Assyria but what is Ash and what is MIT I think RAB has this in his sitter that he says Ash is like the from the word ashre which means places where there's a happy existence where there's a good a good life for the Jewish people right there's there there's there that kind of galut right we might think of the American galut where things are beautiful Jewish communities that's the ashre kind of galut and then there's MIT then there's mat right then there's going to be places that we're going to feel the pain and we're going to be pushed out where we're going to have to run away from those places so it's not necessarily the these are names of actual places because we're not necessarily coming I'm not even sure where Assyria is today if there are any Jews in not Syria Assyria and mitan okay but that's the prophecy of yesaiah Yes But was in the North yes yes and the tri is in the South very good yes that's true so maybe it means from right from from the different north and south and now one other PK one other PK again just to appreciate that this theme we see over and over again in tanak the idea of of a chauffeur and of a and andot that we're going to have a day will come where the Jews are going to be responding and gathering in the land of Israel this is prophecy this this is what yesah what he receives from God a prophecy he receives from God that is going to happen and now zakar both of those were yes now zakar the Lord will appear to them his Arrow will come out like lightning okay what all this means you need a a class in tanak and Z to go through word by word exactly what all the references are and Hashem will blow the chauffeur he's going to blow hasem will blow and we'll move in the storm Woods of the South the Lord of hosts will protect them so this is another P another example of the idea of kibot so if we turn out to page three we turn out to page three and here we come back to a place where we are very much familiar and we are very comfortable and that is uh and that is in the amida in the sh so this is the 10th and I have if you see the number 10 you're on the right you're on the right page well there's a little three but a big 10 this is the 10th bra of the 19 the 10th bra which some talk about the significance of it being the number 10 we know the 10 is always significance and what do we pray for now I just want to point out as we move into this bra that at this point in the in the amida and again just something to kind of take in is for for kavana purposes as we say the amida up to this point we're really it's in the plural but it's really items that relate to our own personal lives in terms of s in terms of chuva in terms of Das in terms of in terms of Rua in terms of good health right they're they're they're all things that that we all need that we're all praying for and they relate to us on a on a more personal level at this point there is a shift in the amida and we begin to talk about the national we we talk about what will happen please God we're hopefully we're in it the end of days and we now move to tab so this is based on this is based on theim that we that we just saw especially that P from yes the so we pray that we should hear the sound of the chauffeur that hasem should blow the chauffeur and to lift up the S and Hashem should lift up what's a it could mean a miracle but I think it's understood as a as a banner of a flag that's right Galu the and God should gather Us in from the four corners of the word of the World by the way I'll point out the following this this this is an that comes from RAB salic he says whenever we're praying to Hashem for something we're praying to Hashem that God answers us certainly we want that to come from Hashem but anything that we're praying for also means that we need to be active that we need to be proactive in order to accomplish that there is not only that we pray for it and wait for it right we don't do that we don't we don't pray for Rua and sit in our homes in our apartment say I'm not feeling well let that Rua just you know appear from Hashem everything that we pray for becomes really a call to us to to respond to that so that's true here as well if we're praying every day and imagine a Jew and saying it every single day three times a day two times a day three times a day and saying it for years and years and what does it mean to have the kavana let me hear the sound of the chauffer and let me return let there be a Kut gallot and let me be a part of that kib G and I think we can all proudly say all of us that we that we've prayed this and we've and that we've taken the step that we that we've responded to this prayer as well so that is the prayer to what is that based on it's based on what we saw that this is a a guiding principle that this is a basic idea that is found in tanak that there's going to be a sound a Great Sound the great call of the chauffeur towards the end of days to return to the land of Israel to pray of of kibuto to come from the four corners of the of this Earth and to return to the land of Israel there's a gar Milla and we're going to see that right now it's I don't have the da here but it's y z y andilla talks about all the Bros of of the amida why they're placed where they are the order of the amida it actually says why is why is umu the E of the does anybody know what the gar says the gar says because is on the eth day Mila you need Rua for so it's in the eth spot that that that's what gamar says interesting right it's in and that and the amida as we can imagine it's actually it's it's it's uh it's written by by the Ana you're talking about people of the stature of nim as well that wrote the amida so everything in the amida is precise every word of the amida and the placement of every BR in the amida so the gamar asked a question why is tab fire in this place why does it appear here and the way that the question is asked why does it appear right after what is the connection between and so look at what the G says why is it that the right this why does it come after why does it come after the BR for for um for hashem's blessing on the land of Israel right so look at what the gamar says based on the following the PK says and this is a famous P or many quote maybe not the PK but the idea what does the PK say the PK says that when the Jewish people are returning to the land of Israel that there is a connection to the fact that the land of Israel is going to begin to grow its fruits and vegetables again in other words once you see that happening right that combination of the land responding to the Jewish people's return so you know you're you're you're you're moving towards the Gula and that's that's what the gamar says why is it here because and kib that the land flourishing and the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel are connected to one another and that's why they're back to back again just a beautiful cavana to think about that as we're ding as we're saying the amida and by the way that's one of the amazing things that we have seen and many have pointed out that for for 2,000 years as we have been not here in the land of Israel or or the majority of the Jew Jewish people not being here that the land did not respond to the other nations that were living here that literally the the the Earth itself the soil of the land of Israel did not respond and once the Jewish people began to return to the land of Israel the Earth is responding to the Jewish people back in the land of Israel and that's what the that's what the Nabi says this idea of kib gallot so where do we where do we find this idea so we find it in the Nim we saw in yesaiah and Zakaria but the truth is it's in the Torah itself which is really I know we kind of think about this as more of a like the Nim talking about the return of the Jewish people to to the land of Israel kibali look at these that are found at the very towards the very end of the Torah this is parim It's perid and Hashem says the following P gimel this is lamid gimmel the shav Hashem that Hashem is going to return your captivity bring back the Jewish people have mercy upon you where is the idea of kib gallot it's in the Torah it's a PK in the Torah kib gallot the time will come says Hashem this isn't AI it's not like finding some in or Z that says it at the end of the Torah you will be spread to other countries you'll be living outside the land of Israel but there will be a say if you are dispersed will be even the ends of heaven doesn't mean in the heavens but you know as far away from Israel as can be again the word it's going to happen that the Jewish people says Hashem says the Torah will come back to the land of Israel and you will take possession of it and I'll make you more numerous than your forefathers in the land of Israel okay so here we have the idea of kibuts gallot is that the first time the Torah speaks about kib kibot in a literal sense probably but there is one other P that I want to share with you and where we have another illusion to the idea of a Kut galot and here we just read this a few weeks ago at the very end of this is the bottom Source number four on the bottom of the page he called his children in this is right before he passes away Rashi says that at that point he wanted to reveal the Kates that he wanted to give details in terms of the the end of days the Messianic times and what happened according to Rashi he was unable to do that that that Hashem didn't want him to reveal anything to uh anything about that but some of the far point out that he didn't reveal when it's going to happen but he did reveal how it's going to happen and that ISU means gather together when there's going to be Unity when there's a Unity of the brothers when we can find that Unity within the Jewish people that's going to be one of the keys to the return now here I want to point out something which is really fascinating and let me ask you the following the first word the p is VRA what does the word VRA mean he called his right right and then he says let me tell you now that is with an it's the same exact word right how would you translate that what will happen well is it what will happen because what will happen is how do you spell what will happen well with a he at the end right right that's with a hey at the end but if I say or that means to to call or to read so here in this translation what will happen to you at the end of days that's in msud I looked at the art school it also what will happen to you at the end of days but that's actually actually not the and rver says that is not correct to translate it as what will happen to you at the end of days so this is from rers on the right side literally what will call to you if there is a call there must be a caller all events must be understood as a message from God to translate the related word MRA with a hey coincidental happening smacks of heathen belief that history is haphazard reverse say it's actually problematic to say what will happen to you at the end of days CU happen sounds like it might just happen coincidence and there is is no coincidence everything is yasham it's what will call you at the end of days that's how you should translate this nothing happens by chance everything is designed R hers so how would we translate this what will call to you at the end of days there's going to be a call from Hashem at the end of days and what is that call it could be that's the tiar that call of the chaar that there's going to be a call at the end of days now again does end of does a call mean a literal call that we're going to hear a chauffeur that's going to emanate from from harab from the land of Israel or does call mean that there is a call that we hear to come home that there is a call I hear a calling I hear that there's there's something calling me calling upon me to to return to the land of Israel I think all of us all of us heard a tabar that we heard a calling to come home yes please is back to the CH okay that's yes yes yes that's one of the um that's one of the chauffers that we know about the question is the question is how does how does that chauffeur of seni relate to this chauffeur there probably is a I mean there is relationship you could say just as that was a a revelation of Hashem so so too what it means to return to the land of Israel is also is also yes is also a revelation of Hashem there are different chauffers and we'll get to this in a moment Ron talks about 10 different ideas famously speaks about 10 ideas that one can think about in rashash Shana or whenever we speak whenever we speak about or hear the chauffer it has there are different themes different ideas that relate to the chauffer we'll we'll get to that in a moment so here I want to now we go to page four and now we come back to a a a letter of Riv cook and really one line in Riv cook and this becomes such an important part of the philosophy of rook and a term that uh that I'm sure you have heard of and that is that we're beginning to by the way if the prayer is as as we say in the amida and if the prophets tell us that kibuts galot is a sign of the of of that that the that the end of days are close if we're seeing that kibot right how do we read that in other words are we are we there are we are we getting there is that a sign that we're that we're moving closer so yeah the rug believes that it's the beginning of the beginning of the go okay he doesn't say it's quite you know ah interesting okay that's interesting he said that the rub RAB Sal said at the beginning of the beginning so they ask the who is the son of Rook they said is this do you believe that this is so he says no I do not believe this is it's not the beginning of the Gula the beginning of the Gula started about 150 years ago as Jews were just beginning to make their way back we are in the middle not the we're in we it's not we're already in it you said the r said we're we're just before it so it's the cook says no we're we're we're past the the the very beginning of it but this is what Rook says and let's read the words of Rook he writes this is from a letter of R cook this is Source number four if you just if um four lines down where it begins the paragraph do you see that it's about four lines down in the it's the four lines down the Bold uh the Bold part and I have it translated as well here yes it is again this is R not everyone agreed with it necessarily I think I think R Sal was not like enthralled with this idea necessarily but let's but let's just appreciate rev cook rev cook says I believe that what we're seeing today and again he's writing this 1910 there aren't 7 million Jews living in the land of Israel like today and that's like the cook what do you mean beginning of gula we have the majority of the Jewish people walk outside and see the apartments and see the the buildings that are see what see what this country looks like that's or that's but R in 1910 I'll take you his question let me just do one line certainly no question he said but the truth is it's not today that it started I believe that actually started with cook is writing this I believe it started even earlier and this is a reference to when the when the mountains and when the the the fruits when it began where the branches begin to yield fruit he believes that it already began the process began earlier I don't know exactly when late 1800s middle 1800s as Jews began to return to the land of Israel the land started to respond to that I can say V I see in rook's that's R Cook's vision of what's Happening yes you you want to say something well just to comment that some the beauty of how our great rabis interpr is each is doing that you've seen this enormous annihilation of the Jewish people yes how can you say we're in the middle very good yeah you make an excellent point you make an excellent point and that is um Ru cook doesn't see the Holocaust R cook does not see the Holocaust he dies in 1935 and Ro salic is responding to some degree to the Holocaust in his in his writings in his philosophy and to speak about atula that time was would would would be more more challenging I think yeah I very interesting to put it within that historical context yes please not only the people have to be ready to come back to the land but the land has to be ready yes yes well here you have this spiritual idea that it's not just return of of people to the land of Israel but there's there's a sanctity in the land in the soil of Israel itself and when the land is responding and the two are responding to one another there's something remarkable happening that's the beginning that's a sign of redemption and amazingly that the amida going back to the gamar itself the amid has according to the gar 2,000 years ago we're going to put it back to back so that you know when you say the amid every single day when those two are happening together when you're seeing the wineries and the Beautiful fruit and you walk into oer OD and and it's endless apples and oranges and Kiwis and pineapples and bananas that they could never grow here that are growing here in the land of Israel you know and I'll quote I'll quot RAB gold and what do he always say no oh tomato No but he would say if you want to speak to Hashem you go to the cotel but if you want to hear Hashem speak to you go to Mud go to the sh and look at the fruits and you'll see you you'll hear Hashem speaking to you telling you that you're coming home to the land of Israel that this is kibot okay so let me um let's conclude with um just a couple of things and um just to highlight one other one other place that we talk about kibuts galot we we have it a number of places by the way in daving and we don't know is again maybe our ten our tenners will will kind of go up and we'll be more sensitive to it as um I think when we when we dive in these things in in in America or in England wherever we may be we kind of like just move over them because they're they're we they don't speak to us necessarily so this is what we say every as we announce the new month is appropriate for these days who has made for us that in the past you saved us you redeemed us we ask Hashem as we begin a new month please bring a GAA to us quickly the the and please hem bring the Jews from the four corners of the world back to the land of Israel is let us all be brothers let us all love one another vomar amen amen yeah so um so the question is what is what does this relate to what is why is how does kib g make its way into into this BR it's a good question so I I saw one uh one idea one idea and that is what does rosesh represent rodes represents that you have the beginning the the new beginning that's correct you have the waning and the waxing of the Moon you have the moon where you don't have the light of the Moon which represents we know that that Moon and that symbolism represents the Jewish people right some of the the travail and the suffering of the Jewish people the darkness that the Jewish people have gone through and as we begin again as the the light of the Moon begins to shine as it begins to grow so that's part of part of that vision of that optimism of the Jewish people R return to land of Israel of kib G that and that's the first that that's what's interesting about about this whole idea that may be and that's a whole question in in Jewish thought what's going to be the beginning of the Redemption how is it going to unfold there are many different opinions I'm sure you heard over the years I'll wait for MH to come and then there'll be the kits gallot and I'll make my way back right when mhia comes that's when we're going to return but it doesn't seem that that's the way that it's going to unfold it's going to unfold with the Jewish people returning to the land of Israel showing hasm how much we love the land of Israel that we want the land of Israel and with that we'll bring the Messiah I want to share with you the following two other items and um you know one of the things that we and just to kind of think about the days uh the days that we're in and the difficult days that we're in one of the one of the uh one of the the saddest elements parts of what we're going through of course is the uh is the death of of soldiers that we've been losing on a uh on a regular basis sadly Rahman Islan that were waking up on a regular basis and seeing the the loss of life um one of the things that I've taken note of and I'm not sure if you have as well are the the soldiers that have been killed the families that have that have made Aliah the Kut galot people that have chosen to come back to the land of Israel and and to lose their children to to lose a son to lose a daughter in this uh in this war the very first day of the war and we're what 101 days today the 101st day since October 7th the very first day so a friend of mine he's a he's a roommate of mine from yiva University Mark zering so his son went down to Gaza and he was one of the first soldiers that was killed um AR zering Hashem and um and we've had over the you know over these last number of months to see the families who have made that you know made that decision and made that um that heroic move to come to the land of Israel to be a part of this and uh and to lose to lose family members to lose children this past week there were two boys and I'm sure some I'm sure many of you saw that they were they were kusas with one another they learned in the gush together and uh and they were killed this uh last week and I I just wanted to to share with you this morning his name was David Schwarz he was 26 years old and uh he was married to his wife Matel for uh for three years a son-in-law of the founder of leet I'm not sure if you're familiar with that organization also a couple family that made Aliyah that was a son-in-law his name was David Schwarz he lived in elazar in elazar with many many who have made Aliyah to that area to the gush to ephra to elazar to n Daniel and he was killed while fighting Kamas in Gaza so I just want to read to you just a a few lines from the uh the eulogy that matal Schwarz gave um for her husband so she writes the following I wrote this but I don't have anyone to show it to who can I look to now for advice we had this isn't the whole the the whole eulogy I'm just highlighting a few lines from it we had the Merit of being together for almost 2 weeks until last week we went we went out to eat eat we saw the sunset and we did all the things that we love to do on Sunday we celebrated our anniversary when you went into Gaza you sent me a delivery of food but I didn't open it yet as I wanted to wait for you we wanted to build a family but in place of this I joined the family of The Grieving we dream so many dreams that are shattered the future that we long to build together remains a dream I love you so much and through all of the this time I felt as if I have the blessing all the blessings in the world even when we were not at War it was difficult for us to separate from one another in the morning and all day long we waited for the evening when we could be together again I can't imagine myself without you there won't be a night when I will not dream of you I will conclude with three sentences that David again this is his wife speaking that David hung above his bed and that he would see each night before before we went to sleep this is what they had over their bed H be day sh everything is in the hands of Heaven except for fear of Heaven this is the next he who trusts in the Lord will be surrounded with kindness and the third but I trust in your faithfulness my heart will exalt in your deliverance I will sing to the Lord for he has been good to me and then she went on this is how she concluded I appreciate so much how you have complete trust and faith in God I hope that I can receive some of this trust now so that it strengthens me David I love you with Endless Love to Eternity and back and forever I hope that we Merit to meet up somehow and all this is just a mistake I miss you yours forever may tell so these are these are families who uh who have who have made alah families that have come to Israel part of the kibot and I was thinking about that question in terms of all the different interpretations of tiab and one of them sayson is when we hear the chauffeur it's a chauffer that is the chauffer of the AA the chauffer of sacrifice of Y who sacrifice was and was ready to sacrifice his life and AR ready to sacrifice his life that the sound of the chauffer is also the sound of those that are willing that give their lives to Hashem and that's part of the kibot of the fire to hear the chauffeur of families that have chosen to live a more comfortable life to come and to raise their children and for their children to be in the Army knowing that they may have to sacrifice for Amel and that's part of the tabish ofad the Great Sound of the chauffeur I'll just conclude with uh with the following story maybe a little bit bit more uplifting not to not to end with uh with such sadness so this is a story that is told of the uh the moonat rebi considered to be one of the greatest of the the rebies before the war he passed away right before right before the Holocaust I believe it was 1930 1931 that he passed away he was known as the Minas laer that was theim that he wrote considered to be one of the outstanding rebes and the story is told of the uh the month before Russia the month of el that he would blow the chauffeur in for the congregation for his and then he would go into his uh go into his office into the side room where he would continue to DAV in and there his grandson would come in with him and his grandson every day would say to him you know I just heard the chauffeur but could you blow the chauffeur one more time for me I want to hear the chauffeur being blown so every day he would blow another tea you know for his beloved grandson so that went on the enti entire month and then it was arev rashash Shana and he did not blow the chauffeur like the Min is that you don't blow the chauffeur right before rashash Shana to make you know that distinction as you're going into rashash Shana the end of daving they went into the room and the grandson said to his grandfather the monacha rebi can you ble please blow the chauffeur for me so the rebi said to his grandson that you know I'm not not allowed to do that I can't you know the Min is not to blow the chauffeur so the grandson began to cry he began to whail and then he was on the floor and he was you know he was begging his grandfather I want to hear the shower if only one more time can I hear the chauffer so what can a grandfather do right for a grandson asking for something so finally he blows the chauffer he agrees and he blows the chauffeur for him it was rashash Shana the next day he's standing right before the sounding of the chauffeur but before he sounds the chauffeur and he opens up the Aron kodes and there in front of the Aron kodes he says in a loud voice for for everyone for the entire SCH to hear he says Hashem I want you to know that I transgressed that I did AA that I did something wrong and that is that I blew the chauffeur when I'm not allowed to blow the chauffeur you're not allowed to blow the chauffeur right before rashash a of rashash Shana but my grandson wanted to hear the chauffer so much that I that I gave in and then he turned to Hashem and he said Hashem your grandchildren are praying and they're also crying TI B and even if we're not worthy Hashem can you please blow that chauffeur for us that sound of the chauffeur and let us know that the Jewish people are coming home that there is going to be a Gula so that is very much all of our prayers that we should uh hear that chauffeur that we turn to Hashem during these difficult days and a chauffeur should be sounded there should be a g there should be a Yeshua and only B that we should share with one another and wish everyone a wonderful day and week if anybody has any comments or questions yes please War what the first world war yes yeah of yeah he that he writes a lot about yeah he has a whole section called where he writes about war and Ru cook is very you know he's very optimistic obviously the pain of War but he sees the the potential that that uh the possibility that that can be gained through war and uh I think it's part of the perspective we need to have today as well with all the pain but hopefully this is going to take us to uh to a much better place in terms of our unity in terms of in terms of who we are as a nation all right everyone everyone be [Music] well say light
