So I do want to correct a a popular misconception. A lot of people say the person must reconvert [music] when they become bar mitzvah, go to the mikvah again and the like. That is incorrect. They don't have to reconvert. It's the other way around. They have the [music] right to renounce. If they don't renounce, they are automatically Jewish by [music] virtue of the initial conversion.
