Shmorg 10: The Great Cupcake Bake-off

tonight for masterful bakers go head-to-head to cupcake supremacy and they happen to be kids [Music] these four will Duke it out for a chance to win some amazing prizes why I started the competition I was really nervous I'm pretty confident what's up guys you're all really talented Baker's but while four of you walked in only one of you will leave victorious competing tonight we have five contestants le from five towns Moshe lave from Lakewood South Carolina Gabrielle and Daniel two brothers from Olney Maryland and Aaron from Lakewood New Jersey you will now compete against each other in making the most creative best tasting and looking up cakes you have 15 minutes to get your cupcake into the oven once ready you will get an additional ten minutes to decorate your cupcake you will then present it to our judges will sample your work and decide who is the five is food champion and take away the most amazing prizes this popcorn machine cotton candy machine and snow cone machine contestants ready set go [Music] I notice of real and this is my brother video today we want the five wishes food competition since we really think we could have been I'm really excited to be here today in this amazing competition I'm really excited to be here because I really hope I would win and if I don't win I'll still be happy I'm excited we're today cuz Vinglish work it's just like the funnest thing ever we added cocoa powder to our recipe why does it take a look Brown so it's different from the others I started off with my regular batter I added in Fruity Pebbles prime was put half of the batter in the cupcake and then stick a marshmallow in and then cover the marshmallow others and coconut all night after I put marshmallow fluff and cocoa powder [Music] why [Music] No [Music] while the cupcakes are in the oven why don't I teach you kinder locks who are watching at home how to make your own delicious cupcakes using five Isha's special recipe crack six eggs step two and two cups of sugar step three add 3/4 or cup of oil step four add two teaspoons of vanilla add one teaspoon of baking powder and one and a half cups of flour mix it all together that's my furnace and most favorite part [Music] now you'll get another 10 minutes to decorate your cupcakes starting [Music] five four three two one [Music] now's the moment everybody's been waiting for this evening we have our esteemed panel of judges true cupcake aficionados here with us today first we have Turks who's the senior White House correspondent for Omni magazine thanks so much for being here we have a kosher guru that's the guy in the middle with kosher guru on his hat and of course rabbi rate SiC who's a Lakewood Board of Education member so the judges are here with us tonight the contestants have their cupcakes here and this is really really excited they present you a custom-made fruity pebble cupcake with marshmallow topping and graham cracker crunching top the marshmallow kind of like floated up I think it worked out perfectly because the way I did icing afterwards I worked around the marshmallow and it actually looked pretty good what's the that's the plate me that yes big notes take notes really excited here a this is a vanilla cupcake with marshmallow fluff was your shirt before you started working on this plate land and plain vanilla syrup we got it thank you thank you it was property to be bought a little bits up by it came out bird I'm the new 11 Danielle and this is we are here today a vanilla cupcake with chocolate powder and vanilla icing some candy on top and on the plate and some chocolate chips we decorated it that way because it was very just original did you make it yourself that whole thing and could make more of it I mean that cookie key for us is the fact that he was my older brother was it really amore since I hope for us out you have to be happy with what you have very California thank you I just I do have a pretty big chance there's every one of those perfectly that's not that that mines messy so it looks like more like more appetizing esteemed panel of judges your Honorables looking at these cupcakes these four cupcakes as far as the presentation is concerned what jumps out at you well hoping things would move too much that it wouldn't jump out at me and so far so [ __ ] man but if you do take a look at it this is popping out of you there's stuff coming out of the top over here more stuff over here you got nice little decorations on the plate over there I think that's the one you look that's always a quiet ones you got to be the most careful question so what's on the inside what's inside is what really matters don't charge a cupcake by its cover aren't you supposed to judge a book by its cover a book not ignite tough Oh when they find out if X Factor is a taco truck look it up all right a little good operator you spoke to judge a book by its cover let's see what the cover says what book covers think of those who judge then I mean interesting right the thing yeah so they don't want to be judged by the cover you gotta ask the book are you good off back to the cupcakes so so any thoughts which one which one are you looking at right now could you give me a little bit of a inclination I don't know about you but I eat lots of food not only cupcakes five-ish that what I look for is that food then just it's sitting pretty on the platter on a nice white pole maybe a blue platter but a nice white platter as well and the presentation the food always has to speak to you first look a certain way that was created as a masterful art piece they look like what do you see what what what do you see here in this presentation you know five-ish when people eat cookies sometimes they take off the outside of the black and white and they want to eat the cream inside the cupcakes the same way and to me I'm hoping that there's something good inside of these cupcakes that's what I'm talking about what you don't judge it from the outside well I guess now is the moment we've all been waiting for enough with a presentation let's dig in and see what these cup cockles taste like all right let's do this I'm gonna go with this one first and don't take a big bite okay [Music] what do you think suction very good the blue batch has some flavor to it really uh-huh like moving at number six this is the one with eggs on top right it's that really egg that's what he said but he could have said anything else you said egg maybe he meant egg colored you find out right now all right well a little bit because looks like there's a lot going on I'm gonna put this nicely back over here why are you putting that back that's yours I'd love to try more just three other ones I've gotta try just remember to come with you I will do my best haha [ __ ] a lot cream inside you've got the inside hey that was have you ever tasted anything so delectable before no I haven't this is a culinary creation that is so amazing we're asked about your cup picking up strategy exactly what is it that you're afraid is gonna get onto the cup that isn't already on your face we'd like to check my hand and see I'm asking about the cup I'm not that it's not it's all like you know much more comfortable my lips very very tasty extremely fresh and it's very chewy as well I like it a lot GUI or chewy this one is chewy not gooey not doing maybe my fingers [Music] well everybody it's the moment you've all been waiting for judges I have sample then eaten and reheated all the cupcakes they deliberated they discussed they tasted they smelled and judges have you reached a decision [Music] we have with the heavy heart and a full stomach oh I'm sorry were you saying something I'm still hungry it is come down one of these four is a winner so one second if we don't pick a winner till we get along with the prizes we get to eat it next up nobody prizes virus what do you say what are the five is what are the prizes again five head the prizes are a popcorn machine a cotton candy machine what happened to those didn't you guys just have like plenty for tickets at this role or something that's really auction which you can enter now and run or however for tonight we are judging the contest of the cupcakes the end as a winner will get a popcorn machine and a snow cone machine and a cotton candy machine is back with Arthur my wonderful family over here iris if I just look to call the number for option I don't wanna mess up one eight seven seven seven auction one an option was ma seven auction no no ours is with a cave awesome is with the seat this cupcake I think the person who submitted this would be very very good with a cotton candy machine based on how much sugar and candy and chocolate sugar and alternative was put into this I think this person if they went would be really really good with the cotton candy machine and also a coloring board because everything was within the wires everything was presented nicely elegant perfectly set is interesting yes I mean this one would probably be very very good with a popcorn machine very savory very salty all the songs that they put into this couldn't have gone into popcorn and I think that if this one is indeed the winner they had an advantage over all other popular manufacturers interesting this one over here has so much going on so fantastic the chocolate chips to the blue coloring to the graham cracker to the cocoa inside and flavors colors it's all the times it's the only thing in the world not put into this cupcake was the kitchen ain't no blower Oh kitchen sink that as well yeah and this one over here the inside was fantastic boozing gooing with yumminess the nice cooking on top that you really enjoy I really like and the cream in the middle by the way yes that was losing out yummy delicious so nice so the judges clearly enjoyed all four cupcakes and only one winner will bring home the fantabulous prizes judges do we have a winner we do and
