and welcome everybody to tonight's special Gathering Ino now you must be wondering what in the world are these fine gentlemen doing here it's not before PES it's not before it's not before suus it's shabas and they always tell shabas is the most holy of all the holidays so I thought to myself this is not fair if all the holidays have a special party shabas which is the master and the and the and the outstanding holiday of all holidays shabas should be left out it's not fair so therefore I asked our wonderful performers here our artists in singing and playing that they should come and make chabas that's the name we called it tonight they of pleasure and joy God sits together with every Jewish Family at the shabas table and therefore since shabas is day of Joy fig our lasto on chabas would be very appropriate to bring out the joy of shabas sing some of the chabas songs and get some insight into them and I'm sorry to say that I don't know what happened but the gloss sheet is about half empty that many things that are supposed to be are not here I don't know what happened but we'll fill it in anyway with our words the first expression on this sheet was supposed to be oh one authentic 100% I'm not going to say the whole story right now because not all of it's relevant but I'll say the point of that's relevant there was a a man who was not religious and he was studying about Judaism and he decided he would like to keep chabas stop working in chabas be home with his family be home with God at the shabas table and his family his problem was that the company he worked for like we spoke about every week so far in the old times but the new times too they were very particular and they demanded that all their employees work on Saturday and he knew if he stops working Saturday he's going to lose his job and he was going through this for week after week this inner conflict what should he do finally he decided that's it he's take the jump went to his boss and said I cannot work on Saturday anymore I'm becoming a Sabbath Observer and come with me I'm telling you my plans so his boss said well you know the policy of the company that if you don't work on Saturday we can't retain you as an employee but as the uh custom of the company is he doesn't fire anybody it goes to the head person there was a big company all over different cities the head of that city of the company he does the official hiring firing so I'm going to submit what you said to him and he'll speak to you so sure enough he was called in the next day by the big boss the big boss said to him listen the policy of the company is that we do not retain anybody who does not work on Saturday however since you're such a great worker a loyal worker we're going to make an exception you can stay with the company not come in the Saturday but this Saturday you must come because this Saturday they have a special project and you're the only one who knows the ins and outs of that project and you must come to Saturday after Saturday you can take off from from now on but said we must have you because this a special time that we must have the certain training whatever it is for the employees and you're the one who knows what's going on we need you here you must come well the man was sort of bit sweet here in one hand he's getting off shabas the other hand he must come in for the shabas so he was in the turmoil what should he do he called up his Rabbi happen to be Rabbi in the Ura office who uh one of the coordinators I think it was and he told him his dilemma what shall I do here I'll be able to take a every shab I decided I'm taking the jump and now I got another stumbling block in front of me this shabas I have to come so it's a very difficult thing so the coordinator said I'm going to ask from a great Rabbi tell him the story and see what he says I'm not great enough to answer this question this is a difficult question to answer so he went to this great rabbi and the rabbi told rabbi told me tell him if you watch shabas shabas will watch you person heard it didn't know what to do big turmoil within in a conflict what should he do he went to sleep that Friday night he couldn't sleep the whole night twisting and turning what should he do Rabbi says the boss says he got up the morning decided I'm going to work can't help it one more shabas and after that I keep keep now it's not so simple it's a question I'll try to explain it the best I can the reason for that is as follows most women don't realize why they're doing it we know mentioned many times before before the BR and then you take your hands off your eyes now it's as if I lit the candles now because now I'm I'm I'm for the first time I'm enjoying the benefit of the Kindle that's lit that's a reason why question um one is um the bad Angel is does the bad Angel choose to be bad or is he or or is that uh what generally speaking Angels don't choose okay so angels are created so he's not like he made a bad choice no okay as a matter of fact uh one of the great rabbis of the talmud said to his students you know the Satan and the Satan we call him he's the real bad guy right he tries to get everybody to to sin do bad things and he says he does it in God's name because God wants a person to have a challenge in this world and therefore he created angels to try to PE get people to do the wrong thing and they supposed to stand up to them not do the wrong thing so he said that Satan is not so bad he's just doing what he's supposed to do that's his purpose in life so it said Satan came and kissed him on his feet he said everybody I'm I'm so bad I'm not so bad I'm doing what I have to do finally somebody came and told everybody I'm not so bad so thank you very much he told me okay and the other question is I know some people are very careful during doing during the Liturgy not to repeat words yes um but like with the shabas meos like we we just had tonight um I mean that's it's not like obligatory type of prayer but uh words were repeated um and you know the great C can't just repeat words I mean if you don't say God's name uh many times and you you're doing it for emphasis why is that an issue well it's an issue because when you're in the middle of prayer that you're not supposed to interrupt in the middle you're not allowed to talk so then that's the main per reason why you're not allowed to repeat words because you're interrupting in the middle you said those words already saying it again is not part of the uh of the ding of the prayer itself the songs of shabas you're allot to interrupt in the middle so therefore you're allot to repeat words it's not a problem we not interrupt we start in the middle of we not allow to stop they keep repeating words that's when it comes a problem because not supposed to interrupt in the middle to say words that are not part of the prayer itself I have a question if when the two angels come home to someone's house and it's not the way it should be and one Angel the bad Angel gives the blessing and the other Angel says aain he's agreeing to it then it's very how's it possible the next shabas for the house to be the way it should be if they have to fight against the blessing of of two angels that's a very powerful blessing to fight against well that's a great question that's and the answer to that question is a very important answer because we were created in this world going back to was talked about before to stand up to challenges God put us in this world to test us to see how strong we are in our belief in our observance and keeping shabas and keeping kasas and keeping whatever the Torah tells us to do it's not so easy and when a person lives up to the test so he went through a difficult time and he comes out successful but a person who does not stand up to the test in order for him to fix up what he did wrong it gets harder afterwards God says you didn't live up to the test it was pretty not that hard original test wasn't so hard but you were strong enough you're too weak to live up to that test now it's going to become harder because now you have to fix up the wrong that you did the first test was not fix up any wrong you do anything wrong yet so therefore it's a normal test once you do something wrong then God makes it harder because that's the TRU that's repentance person to do that a person once a person it doesn't keep kosher and gets enjoys non kosher food so much it's much harder for him to keep kosher the person was was brought up kosher because he's not doesn't have any any any will to eat nonos food person who who who who goes against the Torah and does the wrong thing so then it's hard just like we're in Gus Jewish people in the land of Israel they had a lot of difficult times to stand up to the but it wasn't as hard as this now God sent us into Gus into Exile now to keep the torist much harder God says now started because now you have to fix up the wrong that you did I'm making it harder for you to in order for you to raise yourself higher than you were before you did the before doing the sin so therefore it's not impossible to the next week the person still has free choice to make the shabas like it should be but once you get more used to it and more used to doing the wrong thing it getss more comfortable you lose your guilty conscience it gets harder to do but it's not impossible and definitely possible person to overcome all challenges even though it might get harder as you go along what well but Angel angels angels can not okay Angel for us but if we got the medal we're got to be tough Jewish people we are tough the guy guy in the office right guy in the office the boss comes and says you know you're not doing your job I want to fire you so if you don't start shaping up and you better do better than the when you first came in you had to do this and this but now if you want to save your job you got to do better than than good so to save your job and once you once you fall then you you have a tougher challenge to bring yourself back to where it's supposed to be when the tone gets tough the tough get going but when the going when the going gets tough tough get going we Jewish people are tough we got what it takes right R men we all got it more than any other nation in the world absolutely we make one more we want to hear
