So now with the news, American forces destroyed two small Iranian boats in the strait of Hermuz yesterday on Monday night. American officials say the IRGC used these uh those boats. So, they use these boats to try and capture American Navy sea drones. These are specialized seabboats with nobody on board. So, that the Navy uses to patrol the straight of Ramoose. An American drone in the air fired two ballistic missile two sorry missiles from their you know um aircrafts at the Iranian boats. Both boats were destroyed. An American official says almost men on the board were killed. The sea drone is still in American hands. Iran tells a story a little bit differently. Iranian official claims that two fishing boats were hit by enemy drones off the southern coast and that fishermen are missing and killed. And Iran's version says nothing about grabbing any drones. This comes exactly a week like I reported here already yesterday after Iran said its navy captured a drone that operates underwater, which the Americans describe as an older model that has broken down with nothing secret on it. Now to the talks. Yesterday we read uh we basically broadcasted to you the president's post right that Iran wants a deal and quickly and badly Iran answered. Mojan Razi Yeah. Mojan Rehen or Mohen Res who runs Iran's National Security Council wrote this. Don't get distracted by US president's mixed signals. Understand him anyway. So from no negotiations to we're ready to talk. He says the to the stakes around oil and the straits have changed. He says damage control won't stop what's coming. It is going up about $3 billion a month and it could take 5 years to refill the weapons America used up. Now to Saudi Arabia and the fight with the Houthis exploded overnight. Saudi Arabia claims that the Houthis launched an explosive drone towards Mecca, the city Muslims hold holiest. The Saudis say they shot it down before it got into the airspace over the city, but they didn't say how close it got. Mecca is about 680 mi from the Yemen border. The Saudis called this attack on Mecca a red line crossed. Countries across the region condemned this attempt. The Houthis deny it. Their spokesman Yahar says the following. What did he say? Oh, he doesn't say anything. Never mind. I thought he says something. Okay. I didn't hear him say anything. Their spokesperson Yakyasaria says that their targets were oil sites and armor bases far removed from the holy places. And then the Houthis claimed responsibility for two new attacks of their own. First, dozens of ballistic missiles and drones at the Arama oil site in Yanbu. Aramo is a Saudi state oil company, which is basically Yanbu is the Saudi port on the Red Sea on the Yams. It is where Saudi Arabia has been shipping out most of its oil since the straight of Ramuse has been basically, you know, tampered with or shot. Second, ballistic missiles were thrown or launched at the Kamis Mushhat air base which is in the south. The Hudis, we reported it yesterday, but the I've just got more details about this. The Houthis say it is payback for more than 450 Saudi air strikes on Yemen this week alone. Nobody has confirmed any damage from those attacks. Reports say oil loading at Yanbu has already stopped. That is a top that is on top of the main Saudi oil pipeline which we told you yesterday about was knocked out by the drones from Iraq. The American energy secretary Chris Wright says um of pipeline uh basically says of pipeline repairs I think it will be measured in days. Others say it could take 5 to 6 weeks. The Hoodis also claim that they shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet over Marib province in Yemen. That's what they claim. They showed no proof and nobody has confirmed it. America is staying out of this fight for now. President Trump said on Shabas the following. The Houthis called us and they don't want to fight with us. So in other words, who are they going to? They turned to the Israelis. So until now, the Saudi Arabians didn't want to ask Israelis for help because obviously because then the Israelis will say, "Give us, let's sign the Abraham Accords or let's, you know, let's make a peace deal." But uh peace deal mean not peace deal like a trade deal. Whatever the deal was whatever the Abraham Accords is. Abraham Accords is more of a final recognition of Israel and besides recognition of Israel it's also an alliance with Israel. So they want them to sign the Abraham Accords like UAE did like the others did besides the fact um you know they only said that they'll do it on condition that they basically two states something with Palestine with with Gaza. Anyway, this week, a senior Israeli defense official said that the next step is more joint weapon productions with America. Those bombs will not arrive all at once. Yeah, we told you that President Trump announced that both sides agreed to stop hitting each other's energy sites. They kept hitting. Anyway, overnight into Tuesday, Russia sent 200 drones at Ukraine. Not a joke. So, basically, um, in Kiev, they hit two gas stations, right? I think I reported it yesterday and one person was killed and seven others were injured. Zilinsky told CBS News that there is no energy truth. There's no peace for energy. Basically what we reported yesterday he said he told Witkov and Kushner this if the Russians are ready for an energy truce that means there will be no attacks on energy facilities at all. America has now said out loud that it has weapons in space. Air Force Secretary Troy Mink, Troy Mink, I think, said on Monday, "The United States has now uh um now has on orbit space control weapons capable of defending the joint force against hostile adversary action. On orbit means circling the Earth." He would not say what the weapons are or how they operate at work. Reporters asked him about it afterwards. He said his wording was very well thought out. He said letting the enemy know the weapons are there helps keep them away, but telling them what the weapons are would take that away. China answered on Tuesday. Its foreign ministry said China opposes turning space into a battlefield and told America to stop preparing for war in outer space. It's an SUV. Rescue crews had to pull people out of there. Two people were killed. Six obviously were rushed to the hospital. And now the news helicopter flew over to cover it. Right. So just before 7:00, the helicopter of NBC's Los Angeles station went down less than a quarter mile away. Like the operator on the camera was saying, um, why are you lowering yourself? Keep it up. Can you can you can you can you lift yourself a little bit more? And it just went down and down and down. It crashed in a parking lot between uh two buildings near a storage facility. First that zoomed out and it went down and down and down and then lost as you can see in the video there. Two people on board of the helicopter were killed. The pilot George uh Marweeni Marini Marcini I think I pronounce his name and the photo the photographer who actually was filming from the air. The third person killed was standing on the ground in the parking lot and was obviously you know so the fire burned four cars and two storage containers. A fire department spokesman said that the helicopter was pretty well destroyed. The station's anchor told uh viewers on live television and then the broadcast cut out. Basically, that's what they said. It was, you know, telling we can see the crash and boom, then she went down. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said losing five um Angelians, what do they call it? Los Angeles lo Angeles was very painful. Painful indeed. Back to Washington. Yeah, this is the fire on the containers as you can see. Terrible, terrible story. Back to Washington where Iran war came to the House floor twice yesterday. Last night, the House, yeah, Congress voted 220 to 204, basically to tell the president to stop using American forces in the war with Iran. It is the third time the House has pushed one of these kind of votes. Seven Republicans voted with every Democrat in the room. Thomas Macy, Brian Fitzpatrick, and obviously Warren Davidson and Tom Barrett, Nancy Mace, and uh Miller Meeks and also Zack Newton none. All these are Republicans, by the way. Most of them actually um I think Thomas Macy lost now for his next seat, next run in midterms. He lost his primary. The last time of July, only four Republicans did. But this kind of vote is only a statement. It doesn't become law and it never goes to the president. Obviously, it goes to the Senate next. Earlier in the day, Macy went further than that. He stood basically on the House floor and read eight articles of impeachment. He's becoming a Democrat, this Thomas Macy, because he's losing now against war secretary Pete Hex. Impeachment is the charge Congress brings to remove an official from office. Three of the eight are about Iran and that the war was against the law from the start. Macy filed it in a way that forces the House to deal with it within two working days. Republican leaders can vote to set it aside. Yesterday, Senator Grassly released a FBI records about Thomas Krooks. That is the man who shot President Trump at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania two years ago. This afternoon at 2:00, the Federal Reserve announces, which is happening in about a few hours from now, announces its decision on interest rates. The Fed is America's central bank. Right. The rate it sets moves what it costs to borrow money on mortgages, car loans, and credit and credit cards. Right now, the rate is 3 and a half to three and a 3/4%. It has not moved all year. Traders are betting heavily on a raise of a quarter of a percent and that would be the first raise since 2023. The reason is prices. Inflation inflation for August came in at 3.4% over the year and gas went up to three um um 3.9% in 1 months 1 month, excuse me. Uh diesel and other fuels went up to 9.6%. The federal chairman, the new one, Kevin Walsh, said last month, "So the Fed's uh predominant focus right now should be on the prices." President Trump wants rates lower. Last week, he posted, "Lower the rates or I'll stop trading with countries with which we have a deficit. The markets are nervous. The 10-year Treasury rate, what the government pays to borrow for 10 years, touched 5% yesterday. That is the highest since two since 2007. Mortgage rates tend to follow that number. Stocks fell yesterday and the Dow lost 328 points, closing at 52,93. The S&P 500 dropped almost half a percent and the Nasdaq dropped more than three quarters of a percent. Brent crude, the main world oil price settled around $109 a barrel. This morning, stock futures went up uh were were up slightly ahead of the actual decision. And the budget office we mentioned earlier, right, says that the the Iranian war, the American Iran war will add half a percent to inflation in the first 3 months of next year, 2027, obviously, which is in January.
