[Music] they say we're at war it's all over the news they say we need to fight by staying home they compare us to our grandparents generation but are we fighting the same fight we're told we have to stay home home in my daydreams stuck in my room my thoughts traveled to my ancestors who for centuries wandered wondering what do i do where do I go where is my home that's what Israel was for us way back when a daydream of a safe-haven we didn't always have a place to call home today the only reason we do no matter where we are in the world is because of those who came before us those who didn't have the luxury of staying home to fight their wars in these times my strength comes from the memory of our heroes the idea that someone my age died so that I could do what I loved the fact that someone gave up their dreams so that I could follow my own means my life matters in some deep real way and I must do something with that even from within these four walls I honor Israel's fallen heroes in commemoration of the brave Jewish men and women who gave their lives for ours I commit to keeping their memory alive through positive acts of kindness charity prayer and Torah learning because small acts in the hands of many can change the world I stand tall and with holy certainty that just as we've conquered the evils of the past we will conquer the evils of today the Talmud says that he who destroys one soul destroys the entire world so what if I honor one soul what if I give life to the memory of even a single person could I heal an entire world you
