Officials at the OEM Storm Center in Lakewood

This is Lakewood Township OEM Center. As you see, we have all our volunteer agencies and police department, first aid. We're in touch with fire department with many other agencies in town. We've literally been handling uh tens of calls probably. We're getting into the hundreds now, especially since Chavez was over. Uh it's really getting very, very busy. And I'm thankful that we have an opportunity to work in an environment like this where the emergency services can work shouldertoshoulder and help each other out. Some of the type of situations that we're witnessing and experiencing are we have let's say a call coming to solo or to LPD on a street that's not been plowed yet. Immediately after dispatch public works, they go over there with a MAC or with a uh a frontload tractor. The small little pickup trucks are not doing it with this kind of storm, with this type of blizzard. With the amount of footage that the snow is giving us, the small trucks can't do it. Some of our trucks and vehicles are getting stuck. and immediately as a call comes into emergency services, try to dispatch it out through whether it's DPW or or one of our volunteer agencies to assist. We're just asking the public to please stay at home and give us a few hours, get the roads cleaned up, get things opened up, and uh people will be be able to get back out tomorrow. We just need you just to relax right now and just let us do our jobs. Thank you.
