NYPD 66th Precinct Commanding Officer Captain Kenneth Herrarte shared with the BoroPark24 community that arrests have been made in connection with the hateful swastika and other hateful markings found in the 18th Avenue park, thanks to close collaboration between Shomrim, the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit, and the 66th Precinct. Captain Herrarte said he was proud to see children back in the park, enjoying it peacefully again - as justice is served and calm is restored.

Good afternoon. Uh this is Deputy
Inspector Herate, uh CEO of 66 Precinct.
I'm here with the XO, uh Larry Wang,
Captain Larry Wang, as well as the rest
of our staff, community affairs, uh as
well as Shamram, who have been uh
instrumental in uh helping us uh to
solve this case uh related to the
swastikas encountered here at Graves
Park. It was a very unfortunate
incident. Uh but one thing that came
about this uh investigation is that we
were able to make uh and have a
successful investigation with arrest. Uh
and more importantly when you look back
at the surroundings, you're able to see
the kids actually enjoy the park today.
Uh which is a beautiful thing. This is
what the park is intended for. It's for
intended for the kids, intended for the
community, and most importantly uh that
everybody at the end of the day is able
to enjoy today. Thank you.
