Number of Jews Worldwide

[Music] on average we pass between 50 to 100 people a day they were to stop any of them and ask them a series of questions about Jews or Judaism their answers might pleasantly surprise you I know it surprised us we stopped hundreds of strangers in the busiest Streets of London New York and la and the first question we asked them was with the world population of almost 8 billion people how many Jews do you think there are in the world how many Jews are there in the world uh that's an interesting question 100 million I would say a lot a lot definitely a lot I think there's around a billion Jews in the world probably I'd say around 600 million yeah 100 million 50 million Jewish people in the world I have no idea but a lot of them live here in New York City a little under a billion Jews in the world be less 80 90 million I'm just gonna say 30 million maybe 30 million Jews in the world 300 million 100 million or more yeah yeah something like 100 million 1.5 billion 25 million or more 200 million maybe a bit more I'm gonna say 20 I have no idea I know it's a lot of them and they all over the world but I have no idea um 1.2 billion ready for the fact we are approximately 15 million Jews worldwide which means we are 0.2 percent of the world population we are practically zero and yet the world perception of us is that we are much larger in numbers than we really are I believe in order to answer this question we have to turn the pages back all the way to the beginning of our story when Hashem spoke for the very first time tabramovino and he said two words [Music] I'll enlarge your name I'll make your name so great that you'll be recognized nationally and internationally worldwide you know why so that the Commerce so that the nations of the world will bless themselves to be like you Hashem promised us International recognition so that we can accomplish our mission and be a motto and example and a blessing to the world in this film you'll meet hidden who have done just that Yeadon who have been a model a blessing to others even who have earned the respect of the world and its leaders by proudly walking in hashem's ways their stories will remind us of our mission and their example will inspire us to do what we can to be a light unto the Nations [Music]
