You ever started a job and it's
completely different than what the job
description was? Like I should have
said, "Okay,
you're going to take the people out of
Egypt
and you're going to bring them to the
promised land." Okay, fine. And Google's
like, "What? Goshen to Eilat is what? I
don't know, 4 days?" Okay, no problem.
But 1 year, 2 years, 40 years. He's like
still doing this. Moshe was like the
first real president. People will say,
"Why do you do comedy?" I'm like, "I
don't have other skills." I started
realizing Jewish humor is such a fertile
ground of material. There's so much to
talk about. I objected to make fun of
part partly because I don't think I'm
making fun of. I think I'm in on the
joke. They're finding the humor in
things. When did you feel like you made
it? I still don't. It's imposter
syndrome. If I saw somebody who isn't
particularly religious anymore likes my
joke, I'm like, "All right, I got this
guy to learn a little Kabbalah in me. I
got this guy to learn a little bit of
Torah kind [music] of." Or at least I
made him aware this is the parsha, which
I think is a little nice thing. The
driving force and this is what I'll tell
to any sketch that we have sponsored,
they say, "Can you make it a commercial
for uh you know?" And I'm like, "No, no,
no, no. This has to be funny first. It
has to be funny so that people enjoy it
and pass it along to your WhatsApp group
organically and say, "You got to see
this thing." I do comedy full time and
people are like, "What do you do all
day?" I'm like, "I audit."
