Growing up with a hero who was never home

When I was growing up, there was no balance. My father was never home. I've said [music] this publicly. I've said it in front of him. I resented him at times for it growing up. I swore I'm never going into public service. [music] But in those days, what I learned now being older is that there was nobody else. So, it wasn't like, [music] you know, and again, people say this all the time. It's like, oh, people are looking for an excuse to leave the [music] house. In those days, you weren't calling somebody else. Whether you had a passport emergency, somebody died in a foreign country, somebody got arrested, somebody needed an autopsy, whatever it was, there was only one number. You [music] called Rabbi Glock. Did I appreciate it as a child? No. But as the balance, my father unfortunately did not have it, but I learned to understand it and [music] and respect what it is.
