Noach’s First Move

This week's parsha is parshas Noach and there's a kotchin component to parshas Noach. So I thought in the spirit of chumasher, it's kedai maybe just to talk a little bit dover be eit matoi. Some of the kotchin that's tucked away in parshas Noach. The pasuk says almost immediately after Noach and his family emerge from the teiva. Vayeitzei Noach uvonuv veishtoi unishay vonuv itoi. Those words are mentioned a few times in the Torah. But specifically this is perek ches pasuk ches. Kol achai kol remes vechola oif. Kol remes al ha'aretz lemishpachaseim yatzu min hateiva. The very next pasuk vayiven Noach mizbeiach lashem. Noach built a mizbeiach da kodosh baruchu. Vayikach ani took mikol habeheima hatahora umikol ha'oif hatahor vayal olois bamizbeiach. He took from all the kosher animals all the kosher birds and he brought korbanos. What type of korbanos? Olois. Vayorach Hashem es reiach hanichoach. Hakodosh baruchu smelled the reiach hanichoach. Vayomer Hashem el liboi lo oisif lekalel od es ha'adom ba'avur ha'adom ki yeitzer lev ha'adom ra min'urav velo oisif oid lehakos es kol chai ka'asher asisi. Says hakodosh baruchu I accept the korbanos of Noach and as a result hakodosh baruchu swore lo oisif lekalel oid es ha'adom ba'avurah. The first thing that Noach did when he emerged from the teiva was vayiven Noach mizbeiach lashem. The very very first thing. And after he built a mizbeiach vayikach mikol habeheima hatahora umikol ha'oif hatahor vayal olois bamizbeiach. In chumasher we spoke out from R' Meir Shapiro Soloveitchik who said that why is it that the very very first thing that Noach did was is he built a mizbeiach and he brought korbanos. And he said pshat based on something that he heard from Moreinu Harav his father the Brisker Rav who said that it's Yadua the Rambam in perek base of hilchos base hamikdash alacha base. He's talking about the mokom hamikdash bear. Rambam says the mokom hamikdash bear was very very precise. And then he says "U'misairis b'yad akav." There's a misairis that everybody had. "Sh'ha'mokom sh'bonu avos Dovid u'Shlomo hamikdash bear." That the place that Dovid u'Shlomo built them a mizbeach b'goren in the goren of Aravnah. "Hu hamokom that's the place sh'bonu avos Avrohom hamikdash bear al kol ol Yitzchok." That's the place that Avrohom Avinu built them a mizbeach. And that's where he did the akedas Yitzchok. "V'hu hamokom sh'bonu avos Noach k'sheyotzei min hateiva." That's the place that Noach built his mizbeach when he emerged from the teiva. "V'hu hamizbeach sh'hikriv ol Cain v'Hevel." "U'voi hikriv Adam ha'Rishon k'she'nivra korban." And that's where Adam ha'Rishon brought his korban when he was born. "U'mishom nivra." And that's where he was born from. "Omru chachomim Adam min komo kaparoso nivra." And the Brisker Rav asked that why did the Rambam say "U'voi hikriv Adam ha'Rishon k'she'nivra korban"? What? There would have been a hava mina that maybe Adam ha'Rishon brought the korban via before he was born or after he died? Obviously it's k'she'nivra. That's when he brought it. When else could he have brought it? Said the Brisker Rav, it's poshut. What the Rambam means when he says k'she'nivra is not after he was born 10 years later, but literally k'she'nivra. In other words, the first thing that Adam ha'Rishon did when he was born was is he brought a korban. And that's what the Rambam means "U'voi hikriv Adam ha'Rishon k'she'nivra korban." And the Brisker Rav was masber because we know there's three pillars on which the world stands. Torah, avoda, and gemilus chassodim. But one of the three pillars is avoda. And avoda in the perfect world is to bring korbanos. So said the Brisker Rav, Adam ha'Rishon was the first person to be created. The world was just created. It's the sixth day of creation. And he understood that in order for this world to have a kiyum, dafka min haben avoda. Avoda it that by bringing in So, the first thing that he did was Oh, boy, he Adam Harishon K'she Nivra, the minute he was born, he went ahead and he brought a carbon. So, said R' Meir Leib that Yesh Olam Noach emerged from the Teivah. And Noach right now is the only person in the world. And he comes out and the world is being restarted from Noach. But the point is Noach is person number one in this world. Right now, as it relates to the second version of the world, it's all starting from Noach. So, what does Noach do? He does exactly what Adam Harishon did. What was Adam Harishon's first move when he was born? He went ahead and he brought a carbon. So, Noach followed in his footsteps. What was the first thing that he did? He went ahead and brought a carbon. Now, in the Chumash here, we have a whole Arichus on this idea, the premise of R' Meir Leib, we brought it from many Mekoros in Chazal that when Noach was born, it wasn't together a continuation of the previous world, but rather Noach emerging from the Teivah was in many ways a Hischadshus in the Briah, Einsham. But the point is, said R' Meir Leib, that's why the very, very first thing that Noach did was Vayeiven Noach Mizbeiach Hashem, because that was the first thing that Adam Harishon did. And it wasn't Punkt that that was the first thing Adam Harishon did. It was something that had to be done first, because the only way the world could have a Kiyum is if there's going to be Korbanos. Adam Harishon is the first person in the world Miad K'she Nivra, so the world should have a Kiyum, he brings the carbon. Noach right now, through whom the world is going to regenerate, he's Kol Yoma, that first person in the world as well. This is the first moment of this new creation. So, what does Noach do? He does exactly what Adam Harishon does. He went ahead and he brought a carbon.
