My Father's Eretz Yisrael Experience Love & Dedication

Did your father have any What was his experience like with Eretz Yisrael? >> Okay. Um >> We're not getting very political or controversial. We just want to know what >> Yeah. >> what it was like. >> He went it's to work with the Medina [music] to help you know, schools you know, education young children becoming educated you know, in the Jewish way like in Chinuch Atzmai similar organization. So, he loved Eretz Yisrael and he um he he just enjoyed uh being there. When we were there, he was just ecstatic. [music] And uh I remember once we were doing something for Peilim. Uh they were looking at Rav Grossman, I think it is. >> In the >> Uh Migdal HaEmek. >> Migdal HaEmek. >> Yeah. >> We actually went there to see what was going on. Uh Peilim [music] you know, it was he needed he would would have liked support from Peilim. So, >> [music] >> Peilim that my father represented Peilim went there and it was so impressive by the way. He had these It was just a summer program and he had these kids singing Birkat Birkat Hamazon benching like they were pros at it like they were grown up with it. It's just incredible. I I actually shook Rav Grossman's hand. >> [music] >> Um >> Wow. >> He's a tremendous person. I didn't realize it at that time. My father did. Anyway, on the to make a long story short, on the way home um we saw some soldiers hitchhiking. The driver was driving he was going to pass them. My father said, "No, let's stop and see if we can help them." Those days [music] you know, it wasn't uh >> Easy to get around. >> It wasn't easy to get around and it wasn't [music] unsafe to do that. So, it turns out that there was wasn't enough room for the for the amount of soldiers that were looking for the ride. But, I just remember my father getting [music] out of the car shaking each one's hand with a with momish a hug and a kiss. Um because he had such a hakaras hatov for the fact [music] that they were willing to be moser nefesh for for Eretz Yisrael and Am Yisrael. So, that was you know, that was my father's perspective on that. [music] We all have to be makir tov the the soldiers that are fighting for us. Um they are being moser nefesh and willing to you know, [music] to do things al kiddush Hashem. So, my father really >> [music] >> that story just stands in my mind like you don't know the people. You don't know who they are. And you're just >> [music] >> and and and you're acting like you're achainu kol Beis Yisrael.
