Most Threatening Hike in NY | Mount Marcy Tops Rescue Rankings

the Mount Marcy Trail is the number one most dangerous Trail we have in New York state we might be coming out in the dark that's why we have we got to Mount Marcy Mount Marcy is one of the 46 peaks in thex from the 46 Mount Marcy is the highest peak e good morning we're starting the mount Mar look what we got it we got beny in the house B's in the middle of packing up we got Yi in the house uh we we didn't finish it we said it's going to be 23 mies suff Bear Mountain hike 23 mies we didn't finish it you think we're going to finish today's hike of course okay 16.2 miles you have did you ever did 16.2 Miles 9 hours 16.2 m 9 hours I don't think so no no it's 9:30 what time do you think we'll be done I would say 9:00 9:00 p.m how many liters per mile uh I don't know per mile it's you need at least three liters to get up and down Mount Marcy uh in a comfortable manner what uh prize do we get when you finish it uh there's no prize just an overwhelming sense of accomplishment the Mount Marcy saw snow on top the middle of the summer no I mean there are some places like that but I've never gone to Montana yeah Montana has snow a whole year I actually did one of the 46 peaks with Y White Face Mountain and it wasn't in summer minutes away from here yeah but it was more like in the fall but there was no snow from for there was no snow anywhere as we got higher and higher the snow started getting more and more we got to the top was like 3 ft of snow what's the tallest mount in the United States you in Alaska only 48 uh Continental USA cuz the 48 the low 48 does not include Alaska it's in Mount Whitney and California that's the tallest mountain what's the elevation I think 18,000 18,000 Mount Whitney California go check it out I I hope I'm right what about Alaska Alaska is higher the Nelly in Alaska is the highest elevation in the United States how much I think it's about 25,000 to 23,000 the highest is 26,000 Mount average is about 29 something we're talking about the United oh you're talking about the world now we just switch to the world tallest mountain in the world Mount Everest tallest mountain the United States second tallest second tallest K2 it's next it's next to M Everest uh I think but it's not the tallest freestanding Mountain there's no mountains around so yeah mon avz is between a lot of mountains the peak is the highest it's not a feast standing mountain mountain reer in Washington state is a just one single Mountain very nice round mountain and there's nothing around it it's only this one mountain but the national park basically surrounds the whole Mountain so it's actually a very nice very nice National Park and a very nice Mountain we just got to the halfway point right no and half miles this is not the halfway point no it used to be a dam what happened to it damn it fell apart it couldn't hold that's why they call it a dam exactly the next time you say Dam you're referring to a damn yeah did you ever see such clear water not really look at this beautiful wow this is beautiful just for this itself a p to come to Mount Marcy timey to make a shortcut again how was it quick what do you see here water the music music to the a I don't hear anything you don't understand to this kind of music music of nature nature is singing sounds like a sound machine this is where the sun machine is being made patent pending ah once you get past the dam past the waterfall about 50% up towards the peak that's when the real elevation starts until now was very spread out so we just did now about 5 6 miles and we only climbed th ft less than 1,00 7 7 800 okay we got less than 3 miles to go and we still have to clim 2 and A2 ,000 ft wow so look straight up that's where we're going wow we took a break over here we're about I would say 50% the scenery here is sick so about halfway up the fs you go on the side you can make it right it's a little bit off the trail from Mount marsy but it's beautiful you go towards it's called Indian FS is this not Mar this one this is the to that's where we're going I have no idea you can see up you See's already on top look over on top you see ear we're literally going down the fold this is not safe I'm just saying if you don't see till the end of this video then o not a good idea why are you doing this y stop go back how do you enjoy the view what do you see that you you're out of wordss huh how do you know I was going to say you ever heard expression when somebody says see something like wow it's unbelievable why is it unbelievable stop saying it it's believable you saw it you lived it you experienced it people you did it they don't believe yeah but we're discounting ourselves we're discounting what we're seeing we're discounting what we accomplished unbelievable believe it we still have to accomplish the peak oh we have another 1,500 ft to go and 2 miles I'll be honest with you if we go back down right now it was worth it totally wor totally you want to stay here for the day the LIF how's it going I thought it's easy but I was like I could do this no no that was the hard part the last two miles don't do this at home so we're at the last 2 mile marker okay 2 miles and 1500 FT elevation 1,500 ft in 2 miles 2 miles yeah wow how far to the top you have way to go what you're going to be walking you're going to be on a steep incline for a while this as if this is not steep enough no okay I'm going back you kidding me about 1,000 ft elevation the sticks help you I think so yeah yeah 100% takes off the weight of my but how am I going to be able to hold the selfie stick I'm doing the sticks put away just hike but then how are they going to see they should come here and Hike too hike themselves yeah and they should take a video uh yeah it's optional yes where is the other four guys we lose them are they ahead of us or behind oh my God I totally forgot we came with four more guys yeah it's eight in total we we are just four it's like Yi said there's two groups there's the hiking group there the filming group so we're the filming group yeah sign actually Mar 1.2 miles we can do it and this is almost like 900 ft it's a very good tip that if you get like halfway point since you're carrying so much weight and you only need half of the weight for the way up half of the weight for the way down just take a bag put it on the side hide it in the woods you're going to see right in there somebody's backpack oh wow and he went up on the way down so you don't have to carry such heavy weight a whole entire hike just like on the previous hike suffer B Mountain we prepared water bottles remember we hit it and I couldn't find it remember yeah to yeah to the suff Bear Mountain Trail don't look at it we didn't finish this I'm a little embarrassed well go look at it so do hyp elevation yeah elevation oh starting to see a view oh my gosh wow you see this take a minute oh yeah look around you oh yeah about 500 ft from the top this is the tallest peak in entire New York State this is the fun part okay let's do this you got this you got this come on come on come on you got it you got it you got it wow now that's what I call fun oh we got the other group look who we found look you found the other group where were you guys we were just hiking didn't they tell you you should not separate you violated say it again what's your question SE we didn't separate we just hiked you guys separated because you stayed behind you violated only one rule you shouldn't separate you come into the group you have to go out of the group there's a trick it's called switchbacks go like this instead of going straight up we're going to do some switchbacks Mount Marcy this has been on my bucket list for years can't believe I finally did
