Use this technique.
It's going to change your life.
So you're walking down the street,
you encounter an immodest, indecent image.
And the way the Yetzer Hara works
is that he says,
Okay, just give a quick glance.
No one will know.
You'll forget about it.
You'll go straight to the Beis Midrash,
you'll daven, you'll learn.
Just do it quick.
You're going to miss out otherwise,
and then just go on with your day.
Use this technique. It will save you.
There's a great principle
that Rabeinu Bechaye teaches us
that there are moments in life
that are opportune
to have your Tefillos answered.
Those moments are
when you're fulfilling a Mitzvah.
When a person is Mekayem a Mitzvah,
they have the opportunity
to give a tremendous boost
to the efficacy of their Tefillah.
Rabeinu Bechaye says
that the reason why women
are Mispallel for their children
at the time that they
light the Ner Shabbos,
is because lighting
the Ner Shabbos is a Mitzvah.
And at the time of the performance
of a Mitzvah, it is an Es Ratzon.
It's an opportune time,
and therefore women
try to capitalize on that moment.
Now, if that is true for a Mitzvah
of lighting Ner Shabbos,
then imagine if a
person was Mekayem a Mitzvah
that requires Hisgabrus Hayezter,
overcoming a great challenge.
Says the Shomer Emunim,
At the time, a person is faced
with an indecent image,
with an immodest sight,
they are now being challenged
with the Mitzvah of
This is one of
the 613 Mitzvos in the Torah,
not to indulge in an immodest image.
And this is not just a regular Mitzvah,
but this is a mitzvah that requires
Hisgabrus Hayezter.
Could you imagine
what kind of Es Ratzon this will be?
Can you imagine
how effective your Tefillah will be?
I'm sure we could all think
of something we need to do daven for.
A Refuah, a Yeshuah,
a Shidduch for somebody.
This is the moment
that Hashem sent your way
to bring you,
to bring your Mishpacha,
to bring Klal Yisroel a Yeshuah.
Now, this is not just a Segulah,
but there is a reason
why this is very effective.
Because, as mentioned,
the way the Yetzer Hara works is
he just tries to slip it in.
Just do it quickly.
Nobody will remember.
You won’t remember,
and you just go on with your day.
What this does is it slows down
the challenge in real time.
And you say to yourself,
הנני מוכן ומזומן
I’m preparing myself
לקיים מצוה דאורייתא
ולא תתורו אחרי לבבכם ואחרי עיניכם.
Says the Shomer Emunim,
there is a Havtacha
that your Tefillah
לא תשוב ריקם.
The Ribono shel Olam
sent to you this challenge
to bless you,
to give you
שפע ברכה והצלחה
and certainly
וימלא השם כל משאלותינו לטובה.
