#WineWednesdayWisdom: The Unique Israeli Argaman Grape Varriety

I'm here with Ilan from 1848 famous winery Argam. What's the story with Argam? >> Argaman was it's in fact the only Israeli grape. The grape is growing only in Israel. It was developed in the 70s by two people and they were willing to make something with a high yield, a lot of color and good acidity. So they picked up the Suz Portuguese grape and caron mostly for France or Spain and get produce an ibraid planted in Israel and for years argaman was the one you used to have in Israel. Nowadays we understood that if we work differently with a very low yield choosing the good spots to plant it to have a good vineyards in a good place you can have amazing wine. So let's say if you want to to say that someone is Israeli, some wine is Israeli. That's the one you have to ask. >> So there's no ifs and buts. There is no replanted in Israel. It started in Israel >> and it's growing only in Israel by no day. >> Nobody is planting it anywhere in the world yet. >> Yet yet. Ours is growing in Ramatirin in lower Galilee close to the Tavar area. And we got just amazing amazing solution. We have very concentrated food forward wine but no heaviness. You can truly enjoy the wine all day long. >> I feel I would say it's velvety, dark in color, takes over your mouth but yet fresh. >> Yeah, exactly. Exactly. That's why we decided to work with Algaman to put all of the aromas and the complexity and yet keep it fresh. >> Almost.
