#WineWednesdayWisdom: Garnacha Blanca by Celler Capcanes

It's the most wonderful time of the year. >> [music] >> It's a new season. It's time to taste something fresh. It's time to learn with me. Back to school. Spring break is over. Garnacha Blanca, if any of you saw my videos from the wine show this winter, you saw me roaring about this wine. This is a mutation of Grenache Noir, the Grenache that we know, the 26 p.m., Flor de las Flores, other wines from Clos Mogador winery in Gratallops. So, here we are drinking the white one. But, what is it? This is what I like to think of as a winemaker's grape. Of course, winemakers play with all different grapes, but for example, Chardonnay. You have the oaky one, the Russian River, the ones that smell like limestone, the Chablis. But, then you have simple, clean, stainless steel, unoaked. This is Spain's Chardonnay. Macabeo, you know it. It's the fifth most planted white grape in Southern France. For example, that famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the white, it's not cheap, but it does have Grenache in it, and that's why you might love it so much. You know, I don't know much about flowers, but I know I love sitting here under the tree, the colors, the wind, the leaves on the floor. Sometimes I don't think into a wine what exactly it smells like or what taste it reminds me of. I simply enjoy the bottle. You don't have to be sophisticated to enjoy the flowers and wine. Flor de Primavera, because remember, the more you smile, the better life is.
