Message from Agudah NJ Director Shlomo Schorr

Hi everybody, Shalom from Agra Mara's New Jersey office. And with the early voting period well underway now, a question that I get on a fairly regular basis is why bother voting in an election where it seems that one candidate is heavily favored to win. The answer to that is that because the bottom line is that politicians on all levels government, whether it's local, county, state, federal, all pay extremely close attention to the results. They monitor voter engagement, how many are voting and how many people are not, how many are registered, etc. And when the more people vote, the more the politician is encouraged to prioritize the needs and concerns of those specific communities. So your vote is not only making a difference in a close race like the Democratic gubanatorial election is in this state this year, but it's also sending a powerful message that your voice matters, that our community matters. So please make sure to vote this Tuesday, election day. Polls are open in New Jersey from 6:00 a.m.
