Good morning Rabbi boys.
Hi.
Let's start off with a beautiful big
mazel tov
to the famous
Israel Cranberg.
Take a look.
It's a bar mitzvah. This guy How many
daf have you done with us?
Better.
All of a sudden he doesn't know. Oh, so
there's one thing he doesn't know.
Huh? Better.
Sanhedrin. Okay, so you do the math and
get back to me.
500 daf as a 13-year-old.
It's probably more.
And he knows it. He's the one.
>> [music]
>> That's what he's singing there.
He's a [music] kind.
I'm serious.
He is very good.
I don't know I yeah I asked you about I
said this guy has a really good voice.
And then you told me like he's his
rabbi, that's what I thought.
Oh, that's what you said. Okay, I didn't
know.
Yossi brought him to Staten Island and
started doing the shiur, doing the daf
after meeting Reb Eli at the shiur in
Staten Island. Now he's a big Reb Eli
for shlema and hasn't stopped. Yossi and
Michelle are raising a Reb Eli for
shlema.
Nothing
uh for shlema, okay. Not
Oh, what is it? There's actually a video
there. Fine.
Um this I said already. This I said.
This one is a really good I like this
one.
Ephraim Graver
New journey and accountability and a big
thank you. Please send my biggest thank
you to Reb Eli. I'm only 9 days into my
journey.
Usually I wait a little bit more than 9
days before I read an email.
But it's a good one.
Using the Dwy to hold myself
accountable to continue learning
consistently. It used to be it used to
come second nature to me. Going back to
2012, I finished shots when I was 20
years old. I was on a roll. I got
married and went to coil and continued
doing the daf with brocks and shavas and
and easily was breezing by actually
remembering a lot of sugias easily from
my first time. Then life hit me. Baruch
Hashem I had a baby, started working.
It's very hard to keep up with the daf.
I would miss days and not not go back
and continue on because that was the
best way to stay on track and I would
mark down what I missed on papers. Years
went on like this and my learning was
very inconsistent. I finished with daf
here and there, but there's no
consistency in my learning. Funny
enough, fast forward almost 14 years.
I'd always see you share with time. But
now I listen to the interview with my
friend Yakov Langer. You mentioned at
one point about a nebach
that people who love learning
and know how to pound but have just not
opened a gemara in years. Even though
that wasn't quite the extent of my
issue, but it made my eyes well with
tears while I was listening to the
podcast while shopping in Bingo.
Told crazy stories of people that should
save their lives. I wanted to save my
consistent learning.
The few mesectas have a whole mesecta
blank on my checklist starting with
beitzah. I unpacked from Bingo, grabbed
my iPad and grabbed the beitzah and
started daf base. It's more than a week
later and I haven't missed a daf and
believe me that I'll finish beitzah and
and move on to my next one
only checklist. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
On my check. On
Okay. Yeah.
I feel like it's already making me a
better person like you really said and I
feel like a new
I'll keep you posted throughout my
journey. Okay, we're looking forward.
Huh?
I like I like the fact that he cried a
shickel in Bingo.
This is the first time I made somebody
cry in Bingo.
There's other places I made
You know that? This is the first time.
All right, this is interesting.
This is interesting because uh Dave did
this during shear.
During shear we had a warning, meaning
like there's missiles that left Iran. We
don't know exactly where they're going
to hit. Get ready.
So there you can see the typical thing,
baruch Hashem. It it it goes usually all
around. We're like in the center and it
didn't really affect us. We didn't have
a siren.
But we forgot to to there's
over a thousand people that watch the
shiur live.
And and then we're really we're
realizing that they do have to go to
shelters. Here's Rechovot, empty. The
place had to leave to the bomb shelter.
And the guys in Bnei Brak,
they took a picture in the bomb shelter.
So like maybe I don't know what we have
to do. Maybe we have to stop, pause for
5 minutes just to let them get back into
the to the room. I don't know.
We were thinking it was like, "Oh, we're
good." Okay, but there's other people
with you at the time.
>> They can take it with you into the
shelter.
>> They do take it. Yeah, yeah.
They take it with them, right.

>> Ah.
Tanu Rabbanan
7 minutes in.
There are parts of the animal that you
put on the mizbeach. There are parts of
the carbonos that you eat.
The parts that you are permitted to eat
and you put it on the mizbeach, it's a
big no-no.
It's what we call love. How do you know
it's a love? How do you know it's Is it
the de reisa?
The coin gets a portion. He can bring it
home and eat it. Not home. Can eat it in
the Beis Hamikdash, whatever.
Usually.
Sometimes you could bring it home,
maybe.
How do you know that if you put it on
the mizbeach, you're over?
Minayin le mal me sachatos. So, do the
do the math with me.
We're talking about kochi kochi here.
So, chatos. Chatos, we know part of it
the coin gets to eat. You put part of
that part on the mizbeach, no good. Um
sar olam, gets to eat a little bit of
the olam, no good.
What's left from kochi kochi?
Oila.
Oila, you can't you can't eat.
So now, what's the next one?
If you know this, don't answer. If you
I'm saying if you're looking in the shot
and seen over there.
Um sar kochi akodoshim. What else is
kochi kochi? What else is on the list?
We did most of the list already. We did
chatos, olam, oila. There's only one
more.
Shalmei tzibur.
When do you give shalmei tzibur?
On Shavuos. On Shavuos.
So that's the other That's the fourth
one. So here we go. Here's the list
of kochi kochi. Chatos, olam, oila is
not counted. The entire thing goes on
the mizbeach. Shalmei tzibur, the That's
the only one that's left. That's what
it's it's called kochi kodashim.
Now, when kochi kalim is the whole list
on the left, the shlamei tzibur, the
olam, ma'aser.
These are all obviously the coin gets to
eat from it.
So if you put any of the cotton column
on the mizbeach, you're over on the
mizbeach or over on the leftover of the
omer that goes again to the Kohanim or
moisture still alive, the two breads and
shmurahs that the Kohanim get to eat on
Shabbat and the Kohanim get to eat on
Shabbat,
the Kohanim, you take a Kohanim and put
it on the mizbeach, no, no.
And all the leftovers of the mincha,
the kemitzah goes on the mizbeach, but
the leftover goes to the Kohanim. If you
put the shirayim on the mizbeach, shmuel
says you're over on the love. Tam omer,
and we had this if you were with us in
the zevachim, so you remember this.
Lo saktiro mimenu isha lashem.
Ki chol seor, all the the leavening
agents, the the sourdough, v'chol dvash,
what do I say?
Who here knows what dvash is? What's
dvash?
>> It's date honey.
>> All, all. Date honey?
What else? That's it?
So, you're not allowed to put on the
mizbeach date honey.
What about
uh
an orange? It's not honey. You're
allowed to put an orange on the
mizbeach?
>> No pears.
>> No fruit.
>> Oh, dvash over here means fruit.
Typically dvash means
date honey.
Because in the shiv'ah shiv'ah minim,
dvash, not not today.
Now it means dvash v'chol dvash and I'll
put any fruit. You can't put grapes, you
can't put apples.
Lo saktiro mimenu isha lashem.
So, the Gemara darshans, we're in the
middle of the drasha. Kol shehu mimenu
ish em,
anything that you put onto the fire,
hareihu b'val taktiro, whatever's left
over, you're over on b'val taktiro.
As long as you put some of it on the
mizbeach,
then the leftover, you're over if you
put them on the back on the back of the
table.
So tomorrow, wait a minute. Part of the
the list is the breads. Which they are
going to put them on the table. You
don't put any of it on the back. You
don't put a little part of the table.
You don't put them on the back.
So it doesn't fit into the system. This
is if you put part of it on the back.
That's what you're supposed to do. Take
the and put the on the back. So whatever
is left over,
you cannot put them on the back.
But you can put them on the back.
There's no part of it that goes on the
back.
Huh?
Stay on the table also. Stay on the
table. Put them on the table.
Yes, put them on the table.
Now let's focus on the table because
people recognize it more.
But Daniel, we learned
you have to stay on the table. Put them
on the table. There's
few things that you could ask people.
This is not fair. This is like a
unfair thing. But
yesterday I was
the barber. That's where I try to pick
the Every time I get at least one guy to
agree to come to the share and they
don't come at the end.
They say they'll come.
Who sent the message?
Really?
He is going to join today. Okay. He told
me as a Okay, fine.
So
there's a guy sitting at Jinji's. So
I said, "How come you don't do the
study?" I said he had a good voice, the
whole thing. I said, "Listen.
I don't want to hear any excuses about
you you have to go with your daughter,
you have to this, that. You got to come
to the share." He says, "Wait a minute.
Time out.
Why do you Why do you say daughter?" So
I got nervous. I thought maybe something
happened to his daughter. He says, "My
It's my daughter's Bat Mitzvah today and
I was going to tell you I can't come cuz
it's my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. So
because you have into that MS, I'm going
to come to the share."
So he came the next day. He came for 3
days and he dropped out.
So now I don't have a big
It's all over the place anyway. So I
asked the people there so this is I
don't want to do that whole thing. I
said
just if you could tell me what trummus
ma'aser is you don't have to come to the
show. Just trummus ma'aser. That's the
simplest thing trummus ma'aser. Guy in
his 30s no clue. He starts telling me
Most people don't know. Ask them go to
show ask people who don't do the daf
they don't know what trummus ma'aser is.
They barely know what trumah is they
barely know what ma'aser is they get
those two confused usually.
But trummus ma'aser forget it.
What is trummus ma'aser? It's the 10%
you give to the Levi the Levi has to
give 10% to the coin. At least like when
you go ask that question ask me ah
what's trummus ma'aser? At least you
should know yourself what it is.
>> [laughter]
>> But ask them what a gush is a gush is
forget about it. What's a gush? So a
gush is basically you know
most of you know it's a take
At least you know what corner is. You
might not know what it is but you know
what corner is. What corner is it on?
Oh oh givaldik.
>> [laughter]
>> Southwest. Southwest corner you take the
whatever it is the bikurim the mincha
you put it on the south you touch it you
touch the mizbeach.
So now we're talking about a gush over
here. What time you yotzi sh'tei lechem
melechem hapenim she'einam l'ishim?
There is no hagasha when it comes to
lechem hapenim the sh'tei lechem you
don't bring the breads to the southwest
corner you don't touch it.
Why?
She'einam l'ishim. It says before it
says nothing that goes in the fire.
If nothing goes in the fire then
we have a problem. Look there's no
hagasha because nothing goes in the fire
so there shouldn't be a issur
to to put it on on the mizbeach. Nothing
goes in [clears throat] the fire. You
need it You need to start with
something. Something that part of it
goes on the fire then the other part
cannot go on the fire. Then there's
issur to put it on the mizbeach. But
lechem hapenim and sh'tei lechem to zero
that goes in the fire. How do I know?
Cuz it says by Hagasha that the reason
why there's no Hagasha is cuz nothing
goes in the fire. Oh, so nothing goes in
the fire.
You this shouldn't be a big issue to put
it on the fire.
Omar Shayshes Amigufa Lishim.
He says, "Oh,
you're right. When it comes to Hagasha,
there's nothing from within the Lechem
HaPanim. You don't take any part of the
Lechem HaPanim and put it on the
Mizbeach. And therefore, what? There's
no Hagasha.
But what does go on the Mizbeach when it
comes to Lechem HaPanim?
The B'zichim.
The Levonah that's in the two spoonfuls.
That's enough to consider it Shirayim.
In other words, when I'm looking at the
Lechem HaPanim,
there's a matter.
The Sh'tei HaLechem also there's a
matter. The the the the Korbanos go on
the
So, since there's a matter, what's a
matter? Something that allows you to eat
the Lechem HaPanim. What allows you to
eat the Lechem HaPanim? When you put the
Levonah, you put the frankincense.
Maybe even have some over here. Oh, no.
Nish
Oh, here it is.
You take some of this,
two spoons of this, and you put it on
the Mizbeach.
That allows you to eat the Lechem
HaPanim.
So, the Lechem HaPanim is the leftover
of this.
In terms of the Pasuk that you should
not put the leftover on the Mizbeach,
that's enough to be over on Lechem
HaPanim.
In terms of
Posul B'minui Lishim, you're it's good.
In terms of Hagasha, no, it doesn't work
for Hagasha.
Amigufa Lishim. For for Hagasha, you
need from its from its own self.
It might
Amala M'kulam Agav Akavish. Another
Sugya.
What about
if you if you don't put it on the actual
Mizbeach,
you don't put it over here,
you put it you go up the ramp, you put
it leave it on the ramp.
Is the ramp considered the Mizbeach?
Rebbe Akiva says it's chayav.
Rebbe Elazar says it's patur.
Rebbe Akiva says the ramp is considered
like the Mizbeach. Rebbe Elazar says no.
Rebbe Akiva says the Mizbeach and the
Mizbeach kevesh I don't know if the the
the ramp is considered part of it. Tam
lomar Mizbeach le yalu.
There's a There's a double loshon
basically cuz if you look at the the
pasuk
it says in pasuk it also says
lo yisaktu. You shouldn't put it put it
on the Mizbeach. And in pasuk it says lo
yalu. Velo Mizbeach lo yalu.
So why's the Why's the Torah say it
again?
To teach us that the the kevesh is also
considered.
Rebbe Elazar says it's patur. My time
across the vash.
Korban reishis
o some
only the the the sor vash which is How
do you translate sor vash into a korban?
What Which korbanos are considered sor
and vash?
Sor is the shaar halachah. As we're
going to say in a minute.
And the vash is the bikurim, the fruits.
It's not just the dates, the fruits.
So why's it with the Rebbe loch?
Kevesh kimizbeach.
The the the ramp is considered
uh
part of the Mizbeach for those two
things. I would mean to tell you
but not other things. And Rebbe Meir
says patur. If you put anything else on
the ramp it's not considered the
Mizbeach.
Rebbe Akiva on
who says o some he he is marbeh. He's
not mema'et. So what does some come to
be mema'et? What does it come to take
away?
Rebbe Eliezer says no.
Oh. If I If I
>> [snorts]
>> Okay, we'll say in a second.
Yochid yochid is nadav u'meivi kiyotsa
bo nadav. Maybe an individual guy comes
to the to the to the Beis Hamikdash. He
says, "You know
I saw a beautiful thing. They bring two
breads on Shavuos. I also want to bring
two breads as an adava."
The any bar on on the
he's menaded, so now now he's forced to
bring it.
You have to keep your word.
It's a plural lotion. The crevo only see
more matter of the
individual cannot bring the two love.
Yeah,
maybe you know what? Okay, so you as an
individual Ruben cannot bring it.
But the 87 maybe MDY can get together.
And as a as a as a community as a
mishpacha we'll bring stay a laja.
Because look, the community brings the
stay laja on maybe not MDY, maybe all
class Israel. They bring it on Shavuos.
I would like my we saw so Rebecca does
learn the word of Islam as a meal. No.
You bring stay laja as the stay laja the
show me more of the with the together
the show me more but that's it. It's
it's part of Shavuos but you cannot
find them not in a double.
And by is the hobby and where exactly
you going to bring from the and the
wash?
Stay laja in the
will be cool in the wash. I want to show
you a beautiful video that someone did
the covered the cool room.
Wait, it says something else here but
okay.
Notice also this is important for the
notice what's on top of the fruit
baskets. If you look closely you'll see.
Fire a Lego gaming.
Yeah, I see what you say. of the basket?
Cuz I told you it's rose.
Stand up.
>> [applause]
>> Very nice.
Okay?
So, we'll be calling
I think tomorrow we'll stay like we do
every day. You just told me as an
individual you cannot bring two breads.
Why not?
Now, without looking in our scroll,
please, without looking in our scroll,
without cheating.
What's the matter asking right now?
What's the question? Look look in the
regular simple question of the matter.
I asked the Israelis last night and they
got so confused. Like they didn't they
were nervous. They thought maybe there's
a trick. I'm not asking a trick
question. I'm asking just a simple
just a make a leaning here. Very very
simple. If I call so
long call
what what's the matter question?
Huh?
What's the matter question?
Huh?
Call. But I see you cheating over there.
You're looking in the
I said not to cheat. You don't listen to
me.
I gave a clear clear rules. No cheating.
You "But I want to cheat."
You want to go by there? You want to go
by there? Okay, fine. Yeah, that's the
Gumar's kasha that one. Now, let me
explain why why I was bothered by it cuz
when I when I read it
when I read it, I thought, "Let me just
Can you tell me what's bothering me?
What's bothering me?"
>> If I understood what's bothering you.
>> [laughter]
>> The The one I asked, "Why does it say
call sour? And why does it say call
devash?" What do you mean why? Cuz one
is sour dough and one is honey. So, I
need It's two different things. I can't
bring them in the bath. If it said
devash, I wouldn't know you can't put
sour dough in the bath.
No, the Gumar's question is more on the
word call. Why does it say call sour,
call devash? The word call is extra.
If you name it call devash
why don't you name it call sour?
So, one call is enough.
Because each one has uh uh positive. And
therefore, I need the call. Why? Sour
who to call it a migdash. I would think
you're allowed to put sour dough on the
mizbeach. Why? Because you see in other
situations in the in the in the in the
base hamigdash, you put sour dough
on the mizbeach. Now, if you pause here
for a second, where do we put sour dough
on the mizbeach? Where?
There's only one thing that I can think
of right now. And that is
the stale lechem
ben nedava. An individual decided to
bring stale lechem. Why? Cuz that's sour
dough. It cannot be One minute. We
That's the Gumar's kasha.
How Why are you telling me that sour
dough is that two lechem is also for
individual? Over here it says meforesh,
you're putting sour dough on the
mizbeach. Now, it cannot be the sour
dough that we bring on Shavuos cuz that
doesn't go on the mizbeach. That's the
Korban Tamid.
So, what what sour dough ever goes on
the mizbeach must be the two stale
lechem that individual decided to to
donate on his own.
>> Is there a tzibbur nedava?
>> Huh?
>> He said it's I think the Gumar's asking
for the tzibbur that sea word is written
in the Torah.
>> What's the difference?
Why? No, no, the one was asking.
Ah, you're saying the the liquor that
goes on the sea word, why? Because the
Gamorah decided it's not a only only No,
but the Gamorah on the sea word doesn't
know. I don't know why Okay.
Why would you jump to sea word?
Let's see for a second.
Because there's a meal of carbon ratios
to prevue
and the sea word the Gamorah has the one
thing and then
Oh, yeah, I don't know. You're saying
it's stronger to say the Gamorah got rid
of Yachid for 100% and not sea word.
I hear Okay. Less of a jump. Fine, I'll
go with you.
Sea word.
The Gamorah said not to bring it. The
Gamorah said not to bring it.
The Gamorah said not to bring it. The
Gamorah said not to bring it. You're
allowed to bring
once you're allowed to bring sea word on
the base of the Gamorah but the Gamorah
fruit, you never see fruit on the base
of the Gamorah. The Gamorah
but
on the other hand, you see the fruit is
motor in the leftover of the Gamorah.
Sea word,
but you don't have sea word on the
Gamorah. The Gamorah said not to bring
it. The Gamorah said not to bring it.
The Gamorah said not to bring it. Since
each one has its own
special thing. The Gamorah said not to
bring it.
The Gamorah
The Gamorah is actually talking about a
half a sheer as the Gamorah is going to
say soon. Call comes to say even a part
of it that's the bottom of the almond.
So, here also, you have on a half a
sheer sea word, a half a sheer of a
fruit.
Now, we're going back.
What did you mean when you said that
once in a while you could bring sea word
on the base of the Gamorah? Love, the
Gamorah the Gamorah
Obviously, you're talking about
the two the two breads you bring on
Shavuot. Somebody decided that the sea
word decided to bring it as an Adovah.
And Rashi just points out it real
quickly, it cannot be referring to the
that everybody you to bring on Shavuos.
The amount of the months of the year
they would have a migdash. They would
carve them as bad. You don't put it on
the mizbeach ever. So, the only thing
that I could think of that goes on the
mizbeach and is sour dough
is an Adava of the Sh'tei HaLechem. And
you're telling me the Sh'tei HaLechem is
also to bring?
Omar Rab Amram loyi. No, no, no.
L'charev mayim. What I was trying to
tell you is since
the Sh'tei HaLechem come together
with korbanos here, like the famous
picture over here.
The tenufa. I mean, imagine doing on
two. You did on one. Barely moved.
Two.
With with the uh with the Sh'tei
HaLechem.
Now,
I don't know what he's doing over there.
So, my mailer I would think that you're
not allowed to put these two korbanos on
the mizbeach. Why? Because they come
with chametz.
They're associated with the Sh'tei
HaLechem. The Brisker Rav says over here
you see that the that the Sh'tei
HaLechem and the and the and the sheep
are actually one.
Cuz the Gemara only asks from this. The
Gemara doesn't let's say ask from Teida.
Teida's 40 breads. I have a carbon
Teida. There's no there's no zika, so to
speak. There's just a
a borrowed lashon zika. The what?
The borrowed lashon, yeah. You over here
because you do the the tenufa together
and everything is together, they become
like one. They become one unit. And
since you cannot put part of that one
unit on the mizbeach, why? Cuz it's
chametz. You're not allowed to put sour
on the mizbeach. So, perhaps you can't
put
the
the the the carbon also on the mizbeach.
Well, I know. Loy, l'charev mayim. Yochi
asks the Gemara become nami. But, guess
what? Fruit is also hot to make a wall
out of. It has like a a it comes
together with with with a carbon comes
together with birds those gazelles
remember told you to pay attention in
the in the video there's a better
picture actually than I was watching but
here these guys are all they have they
have birds
just say the same thing
says the Gamara
this night I guess all of you shall go
via selling how you always the birds
they're they're they're oiler
the sounds should be ordered on the guy
on the cheap baskets go to the coin the
Gamara over there says that also on you
saw as all also on you saw as all on you
saw something like that that
in the English they say the opposite the
rich get richer
and the poor get poorer that's what I
mean the poor get poorer
the wealthy they bring a nice
uh
a golden basket so they get it back the
poor they come with the cheap basket
they lose their basket to the coin
okay
that's really I don't know if you're
allowed to this is a mama show
I think it's easier just to give away
your your cheap basket and then start
buying from a giver a golden basket
which he needs anyway for his thing okay
something Gamara
>> [clears throat]
>> all I know says the Gamara no these
birds are not connected to the be cool I
know after be cool with the also it's
unbelievable what I want to say listen
to this
the birds that are on top of the the
basket
those birds
they're they're there to beautify the be
cool room
like the show for us like the the the
the the uh
yeah what yeah yeah yeah
I'm going to get you some
>> to it when the big something else comes.
Little cute the white all white pigeon
with a little
No, no, okay, whatever it is. What What
a fish thing. What a By the way, Derek I
got you talking about that. I have a
pigeon on my on my porch now that that
has broken wings cuz you know we have
glass panes. So, every once in a while
they fly into it cuz they're very smart
these birds.
So, they go head first into it. They
break their neck or break their thing
and then I get stuck. I have to I don't
know what to do with it. It's like it's
sitting there on my porch. It hasn't
eaten in a few days. And if anybody
wants a free meal, please
be my guest. So,
>> Better than your wife's fruit basket in
town.
>> Oh, oh, oh.
La la there's a sound lot to be cool
with.
Listen to this. The boys say this is
this is very important. This is a very
very important you say.
I thought about it this morning.
You know, it's a new cook.
There are people that go out there and
they they look for for uh esrog.
They look for hours, for days. They go
from here to there to there to there.
And you could look at them and say, you
know, the little a little extreme little
extreme.
And then the the other guy that he from
his dining room he goes on Amazon.
Fix the esrog and comes in the mail.
Broken tip. No, bro, it's not not
important right now.
I got it from the guy. He told me it's
good. I'm good.
What's the vart? What's the vart is
unbelievable. You see from this Gemara.
Lot to be cool with.
I'll give you a marshal.
I thought this is the marshal I thought
in the morning.
My good friend with no effects. He wrote
in a God though. Right? He has a safer
on on the God though. What's it called
again? Where can we get it?
He had to think about it for a second. I
didn't ask you how many kids you had. It
wasn't that difficult. It was a simple
shilo.
Exodus of the mind. Oh, oh, look at
that. Wow, Exodus and one. Imagine I
tell no, I
call him up, no.
I'm getting up an hour early today.
Getting up at 5:00 to go through your
haggadah. What would it do to him? Mom
is like, "Wow."
You mash your haggadah, you're getting
up. You tell the Rebono shel Olam, I'm
getting up an hour early to learn the
daf. I'm getting up an hour. What does
it do? It's it's a I am going out now.
I'm going I'm traveling from here to
Yerushalayim. I'm going to search for a
esrog. I keep him changing mitzvos
esrog.
You could tell your wife, "Look, I'm
going I'm stepping out for a minute. I'm
going to the macolet. I'm going to get
you a present from the macolet. Here, I
got you something for Yom Tov. Yom Tov
is like, "Here, I got you a new iron. I
got it down the block." Or, I went I
went over there and I did they didn't
have it. Then I went over there. I went
to Mendy, "Do you have a special diamond
over there?" And then she hops, "I spent
three days to get her the present." What
What does it do?
What's it's a different cook. It's a
different It's not mushugana. You went
and you looked at the esrog. Look an
hour, look an hour. What a weirdo. The
magnifying glass. No, I went I I I I did
for you. It's It's the mitzvah you told
me to do. And I'm
I'm working on it. I'm working more than
the the other guy. It gives a certain
chashivus to the Rebbe. He says, "Wow,
look at this guy. He got up early for
it. He's He's mashiv me."
This is a This idea of being mecharev
the mitzvos, of going of of going after
some mitzvos. I'm putting pigeons on it.
I'm I'm I'm bringing music together
while I do it. The mitzvah is bring
bikurim. So, they bring bikurim. What
What is it? No.
In addition to bikurim, there's lots of
mitzvos.
I heard a a very nice vort last night
from Reb Dovid Braverman. He told me
that uh Reb Shimon said, he asked a
kasha on Reb Shimon bar Yochai. Shimon
bar Yochai was in the was in the cave.
They came out, they started killing.
They looked at the What did these people
do? And they started doing. So, so Basol
came out. He said, "L'mei you tzosah?"
You came You came out just to destroy my
world. Get back in the cave. He went
back in for another year. Comes back out
and then the son started destroying, he
started being, you know, helping. And
finally they met a a man, a old man that
that had two things of a dozen.
She says, "What's this?"
She says,
Reb Shimon bar Yochai was on the spot.
He was like, "Wow, look at the look at
Hashem's children." And
she says, "What What was he on the spot
from?"
He says, "He was on the spot from
the kavod of a mitzvah. He didn't He
wasn't a stop it with that. He went One
for zachor, one for shamor. He says,
'Rebono shel Olam, look how much I love
you.
I'm doing Look at my love. Look at my
chibah to you. Zachor, shamor, more than
a dozen.' He says, 'Oh, these are the
simple Yidden. The simple Yid is going
out of his way for the mitzvah.'"
Zoch digmor.
Boy, I remember
this no be honest. I just had it today.
This this I This idea like I mean I also
like
I spent many many hours back in the when
I was a kid
searching for serugim. Today I you know,
I don't have that much time. This is not
in the beta
I started having, "Hey, this this is
something to it. There's a lot to it."
Zoch digmor.
>> And the thing with the birds is you
don't have to bring them with you.
>> Yeah, that's exactly it.
>> Yeah.
That's the point.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> [clears throat]
>> You don't have to wear gold shoes. They
wore gold shoes. There are certain parts
of it. Then the bikurim in the last uh
they they wore like special Yeah,
underwear. Yeah.
It was a whole thing. Bikurim.
Boy, I remember this no be honest. This
is the
How many
I hear.
You make it more uh
>> More faster speed.
>> Dave, do you see
I was up there. Not Dave, sorry.
Gershon. Do you see a a a fast button
like a ti- a speed that you could double
the speed on the video?
Cuz Mark is telling me this morning he
has it on his PowerPoint. I can't find
it by us.
No, no, no, it was in on the screen
itself.
When you go to the like in the bottom
right corner, if you hover your your
mouse
I was thinking maybe in this program you
have it. No, this is similar to what I
have.
Interesting. No, sometimes you I I
there's a video that's too long. Wait
there, let's go. Let's do it on two
speed, I can take it.
Okay, we'll have to figure out how come
they don't have a two-speed? They have
it on every device.
I don't have to I have to worry about
these guys. All right.
Sometimes, yeah. But sometimes I get the
video too late, like at a a lot of times
some of these videos I get caught off
guard. They they send me a yes the last
night they send me a video 1 and 1/2
minutes, I didn't see it before. The
working it takes a long time to make
these videos, they give it to me as a
middle share. Pops up on my screen. Go,
show. They they they they tell me what
it is. This is for this in this Sugya.
Push play. I don't know it's 1 and 1/2
minutes, I'm sitting there.
And it's not even to my taste or
whatever and you know what Okay.
>> [laughter]
>> This guy is young Vilna on his bat.
I thought I I thought I had something
Oh, here, the bat. Right over here, I
didn't even talk about this.
Seriously.
Here. This is bat.
If you send the word to frit or what How
do you How do you do it in English? A
menu?
Menu?
And then it gives you the whole thing.
You could You could ask it for all the
songs. It even has this called Shluchim
there.
It has Shluchim Ad Af.
Rosh Chodesh Nissan it says on the side
over here. No, it's Shema, I'm just
kidding.
I Rib Shluchim's on it.
It gives you a lot a lot of stuff on
this on this bat. You got to download
it.
What?
The bat macher. Here. There is the bat
macher.
He machers. I don't know what he what he
does all day.
How uh where are we?
Oh. Rebbe says who knows how much of a
carbon
of this when you have bring a bird hot
us
Bring a bird hot us the coin gets to eat
from it. How much of the bird hot us
goes in the misbech?
Nothing.
What if you bring some
hot us bird and put it on the misbech.
You're not supposed to put on misbech.
That's similar to the story we just had.
I'm telling you I was talking about a
hot us uh sheep. That you you you're
supposed to eat it. Instead of eating
it, the coin puts it on the misbech.
It's a it's a is in the right side.
What about the bird?
Instead of the coin eating you put it on
the misbech. You're over the is in the
right side. What's the what's the shilo?
Now, question when at least you
aim at an issue. Over here none of it
goes on the misbech. You all decided
and you were right that none of it goes
on the misbech. So, it mainly can't be
my kind of possible. What's the
possible? What it says if you put part
of it on the misbech, the leftover
you're not allowed to put on the
misbech. But over here by the bird the
entire thing goes doesn't go on the
misbech.
Over here, the Torah calls a bird a
carbon. What is the Torah call a bird a
carbon? Look,
It's funny.
Gerson, you see the the menu is still on
the screen.
You have to take
Oh.
It's called it's called carbon.
By now my carbon is therefore if it's
called a carbon maybe you're not allowed
to put on the misbech. I'm really close
to my carbon. Yes.
By now my carbon and this in fact is
considered a bird called a carbon. Get
the money. The blessing I made close to
my metal leash and no, I have to be
strict with this rule. It's part of it
has to go on the misbech in order to be
over. I'm giving my close to kosher as
long as it's called a carbon, maybe not
you. And what would be the difference
between these two shitas? One of them is
what we just said on chizda, is a zaif
given a you.
A chadas zaif doesn't go on the on the
misbech at all. So, according to Rebbi
Eliezer, you wouldn't be chayev.
According to Rebbi Akiva, it's called a
carbon, you're chayev. Rava amar lo
yikshem mitzoyik given a you. The the
the oil that goes with the metzora,
the oil, obviously none of it goes on
the misbech.
So, according to
Rebbi Akiva, you'd be over wide. It's
only Rebbi Kol Korbanos min ha Rabbanan
lo yikshem mitzoyik given a you because
it's called a carbon. According to Rebbi
Akiva, you'd be over if you put the
metzora's oil on the misbech. Tana
Rabbanan.
Sorry about the tiru.
>> [clears throat]
>> Ein lo ela kulah.
Oh, how do you know that if you put part
of the sourdough,
a half a shiur,
or even a mashu according to Abaye,
how do you know that you're over?
Tamar lo amar kol.
Anything.
>> It says in the
>> Oh, sorry.
Sorry about [clears throat] the tiru ein
lo ela kulah. Mitzos minayin? Tamar lo
amar kol. Even part of it.
A ruv minayin? How do you know if you
mix the sourdough with
matzah, let's say.
It's a mixture. How do you know you're
over? Tamar lo amar ki kol. From the
word ki.
My koma, what's going on here?
Omer Abaye amar, sorry about the tiru.
Ein lo ela kezayis.
The shiur is a kezayis. Chatzis zayis
minayin? How do I know a half a shiur,
which by the way, according to Abaye, a
half a shiur means even a a nothing.
There's no such thing as a half a zayis.
Half a zayis means a
kol shiur.
It it's either it's either a zayis or
less than a zayis. There's no such thing
as a half a zayis.
Tamar lo amar kol.
I'm pointing it out because by Rava,
when he starts his starting point is two
zeisim.
So, half of two
is one full zayis, which is a full
shear.
But according to Abaya our starting
point is a size.
So half of that is is a mashu.
You put a little
uh
How do you call it?
A crumb of
a speck of of on his back be over.
I will let him call.
A room and I know a mixture time of the
night
kiko.
Very similar but different. Same
words. In the yellow
instead of saying he says a mixture.
How do you
how do you know a half a mixture? A
mixture you go like this with your
fingers. I will let him call.
A room and I know
same with the same everything but
instead of saying the word because I is
he says climate.
But Michael so what what's enough
community if you call it a size or a
mixture?
Don't
get excited about it. That's not
We're doing twice as thick as the
average soon.
The way you read this is the way you
read this is
since
a buyer starting point is
less than two sizes
less than two. How much is half them
half of less than two? Let's call it one
and three quarters. What's half of one
and three quarters?
I went to college.
Well
0.875 you're right. 0.875
0.875 yeah not eight. 0.875
So
See the way you read it is since you
your starting point is park is missing a
size it is
one and three quarters let's say. So
when they mail the yes I told her to put
some sizes the tire tells you you can do
half."
So, half is less than a full zayis. It's
0.875 of a zayis.
You see that to be over an
you're over even in less than a zayis.
The means and therefore
Going
with that,
your
must be at least two that's all.
You see that their hands were larger.
How did a zayis fit in a whole
has to be at least two. So, when the
Torah says call, which means half, half
of two is one. So, you have at least one
zayis that you in order to be over an it
has to be at least one zayis. Therefore,
the
if you're starting pouring is more than
two, so the half of two is one.

Listen to this.
Think about it for a second without
looking at the just uh
entertain yourself. What if
>> [laughter]
>> Not funny.
What happens if you put
and
on the back?
Are you a smart?
Don't worry about it. I was
When I went to Yossi Klein's house, I
know
I found a Gamorah in my house.
I'm a sifta, much like yours. I ripped
the pages out and put it in my jacket
and I used it. It actually helped me
before sheer. I needed I wanted to go
over the Gamorah again.
>> rip out and use it of mine on the table.
>> It was it's
To me, it's fine to rip pages out. It's
not a You've never done it, but I do it.
I did it this week. I'm telling you,
within the week I've done it.
You saw?
>> I saw.
>> I had the
ripped it out of my Gamorah. Why? Cuz
that's what I need now. I don't need my
my small masifta in my house. I never
use it. Ripped it out. For now, it's
good.
It's all relative.
>> Rip it out right now.
>> It's not mine.
Donated to MDY, it says over here.
>> [laughter]
>> Hold on. Oh, Rebbi Kima. Fine. Zog di
emar.
So listen, listen. It's very it's very
gishmak.
The Torah says don't put a sourdough on
the mizbeach. Don't put honey
fruit on the mizbeach. What if you put
both on the mizbeach? How many lavin are
you over if you put both? So everybody's
going to say, you're over two.
The Gamorah says no. You're going to be
over on either four
or none. None. Zero.
Or I'm talking about in terms of malkis.
How many malkis you get? You get four
malkis. Why?
Says the Gamorah,
Hamal I told you, if you just read it,
it won't be so much fun. But if you
thought about it for a second, it makes
it more interesting.
Lo yigam mishum sor. That's pashut. You
get a malkis for sor. Velo yigam mishum
dvash. Ah, lo yigam mishum me ruvi sor
umishum me ruvi dvash. We established on
that you're over kol. What was the
lashon? Key kol.
You're over iruvin night. I'm over key
kol for the key.
So,
I'm
is also.
So, in May law there's a mixture
going from the Tsar to the Dvarsh but
also from the Dvarsh to the Tsar which
is super interesting. And the May law
that one mixture you have on four
things. First of all, in the mixture you
have Tsar that's one. In the mixture you
have Dvarsh that's two. In the mixture
you have Tsar and Dvarsh. You also have
Dvarsh and Tsar.
Four.
So, we're like one should Dvarsh
and by all my and
There's something called love should be
called less. Do not worry because first
of all the Sugya is over in two lines.
There's a Mishnah starting in the
definite test. But look at this.
See if this helps.
Oh, this is how we got
>> Okay, Yonkel, your first day.
>> Yonkel.
>> Do you remember everything you need to
do?
>> Yes, Reb Kalman.
I know everything
perfectly.
>> Here's your Minchas Chinuch.
>> A Minchas Chinuch our boy says the first
time he's doing an Avodah he brings a
Minchas Chinuch.
>> What? Such a simple Korban for something
so special?
I think I can do better.
>> Look at the list of here.
Oh.
>> I'll have 12 of those to go, please.
>> Okay.
>> I'm pretty sure I had one or two of
those in my life. You can order them you
know what?
>> What do you think you are doing?
Are you aware that this could cost
you four Malkus?
>> Malkus.
>> Since this Korban is a mixture of Se'or
and Devash, it's a love shebby clothes
less and there's no Malkus.
>> No Malkus. Oh.
A love shebby clothes less.
So, what's a love shebby clothes less?
lot super close less it's not a a
straightforward love. It has other
other stuff to it.
This is your man.
>> [snorts]
>> You like his teeth, the whole thing.
>> It's your pet peeve.
>> Shh, no.
>> [snorts]
>> Don't tell everybody. Okay, hey, look at
your last super close.
So,
I don't know if he does it on purpose
that's just AI.
AI is a stickler off on his on his
shyness.
I got one of them. If the Torah says, as
the Gamara is going to say soon, the
Torah says, "Don't put a um
how do you say Hashem on a
>> muzzle
>> muzzle." Don't put a muzzle on an
animal, it's very straightforward. It's
one love, boom, that's it.
But you start telling me, "Don't put
sourdough on the mizbeach." Oh, and
don't put sourdough together with uh
that's already too much. Now you you're
being general. You're starting to say
more stuff. Last super close.
So, what does that mean? So, what you
don't get anything or you get a little
bit? "I could have army and hold on to
me a lucky." No, no, you'll get the
malkus that the Torah says, "Don't put
sourdough." You get.
But sourdough with a mixture that you're
not going to get two for that. That's
already too much. Take it to army,
listen to this. Take it to army, "Hold
it on to me a lucky." You don't get any
malkus at all.
The malkus could love the Hashem. Listen
to here.
Look at the Torah. The Torah says over
here,
our boy malkus
This is another thing you should ask
people and it's good that I have to
teach people. I'm serious.
You give somebody a kick in the shin,
you punch him in the in the in the in
the face, give him a smack, all these
things that we used to do in Yeshiva,
you only have this positive positive
Gamara. Our boy will love you I guess
there's a issue there I say to hit
somebody. And if you get if they warn
you not to do it and you smack the guy
cuz you're mad at him, you get malkus
for it. It's just the right side.
You get it's it's just the right side,
yeah? People don't have. I don't know
why the rabbeim never told it to us.
Maybe the Rebbi
should again
They didn't say.
>> [snorts]
[laughter]
>> No, that's mutar the Even if you're not
supposed to because they'll hit you
back, but they're allowed you're allowed
to fight. I could put him Look what it
says in pasuk dalid. Pasuk dalid says
leysachsim.
So, we make a There's a comparison. Just
like leysachsim is very poshut, it's
four words, leysachsim sher b'dishay,
when when he's uh treading on the on the
wheat, you shouldn't you shouldn't put a
muzzle.
So, so too any other lav has to be very
poshut, a straightforward lav. Once you
start mixing more things and giving it
more uh you're not allowed to mix the
the the sar with the dvash and the dvash
with the sar,
then you're not chayav anything. Just as
a short This is our new guy.
Uh his name is Nachman.
He did uh charisha. It's not really
dishay, it's charisha, but the idea is
the same.
>> [music]
>> He makes the music himself. That's he's
a big mufkar. This music [music] he did
by himself.
>> [music]
[music]
>> The kid so he's selling the shar because
it's uh
gevaldige. Okay, shkoyach Nachman. I
call pa'n oifen.
V'eikev damei chada nami lav okay
d'l'miached lav it's not a single lav
k'lav d'chasima. Rabbosai, have a
wonderful day.
