What is the right way to brush your hair on
Shabbat? Whether it's your real hair or a
sheital (wig). There are three rules you need
to follow. The first is to brush with a soft,
bristled brush. So that if there's tension between
your hair and the brush, the bristles will bend
and you won't come to pull out any hairs. The
second is to brush gently and not excessively.
If you brush strongly or excessively, you
will end up pulling out hairs. And lastly,
is to have a special brush just for Shabbat.
This will address three melachot. Number one,
the melacha of Gozez which means pulling out
hair from a living being. It will address Korea,
potentially pulling out hairs, tearing
hairs from the shaitel. And lastly,
Menapeitz, which meant combing hairs
to align them, to make them straight.
