Not Your Typical Thanksgiving Dinner

hey friends mayor k here this thanksgiving dinner i'm hosting some very special guests let's get ready huh huh [Music] okay we're gonna set a festive vibe for tonight's dinner turkey socks don't have to ask me twice [Music] wow that looks amazing let's wrap it up we got a dinner to go to let's go [Music] awesome all right crew's all packed we got a thanksgiving dinner to host let's [Music] go excited big thank you to p9 and bradberry for helping making this happen they get the vision it's all about helping people yeah wow we got so much food someone say decorations [Music] so [Music] all right tabla set guests are here let's begin thank you so today we're hosting a uh a thanksgiving dinner a a dinner of thanks a dinner of gratitude a dinner of community when i was walking down the street a few years ago in the city i saw a sign and there was a sign that said you know i don't want food i don't want to drink i just want to be seen and i think one thing's for sure we all deserve to be seen and to see it as people as and dignify people and with respect and with love and so this table and this food and this and really beyond that this space is really just to be held for everybody to be seen to be heard and to connect so um i want to welcome everybody i want to welcome both to take some food make yourself comfortable we got a big big turkey as well we got great dessert so please fill up your place come back down here let's have some fun tonight all right [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh my god [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] can i uh bring up an idea that maybe we'll go around the table and everybody can just uh express what they're grateful for i'm grateful for every day and um [Music] it came through some heartbreaking option because i was trying to stay with my family and i couldn't find residency where they was living so i had to come back to university so everything in life i do i do to get back close to my kids them me i'm thinking that i get to wake up every day and see this beautiful world every day even with his walls or her walls [Music] and i'm just i want to keep moving forward in life with my kids and making sure they have what i've never had it's a blessing to be here mommy because it's not guaranteed that we can sit together every year so we have the one we have to make it count we don't take things for granted until we fall down but there's nothing wrong with falling down is getting back up [Music] i'm just grateful to meet some new people because you know i lost my mom's a couple years ago [Music] just grateful to be alive you know and dark places is hard sometimes to get out of especially when you allow other things to get involved like mental illness substance abuse i allow that to overtake me as well nobody told me that how the disease of addiction could progress in my life let your smile change the world don't let the world change us [Music] oh one two three wow yes [Music] you
