Mayor and Committeeman thanks Good Samaritan Who Helped save 2 under pinned car

clarify. I helped I was holding the kids heads and helping the guy with the jacket. It was actually a guy who was walking by who actually grabbed it out of the car and started jacking it up. So, I was I I'm I'm an EMP from New York, Florida. Right. So, I was welcome to Lakewood. Yeah. Welcome to Lakewood. We We want to honor you. We I I know you probably don't want to be on it because most people that do this kind of thing, but but um I'm the mayor. I'm supposed to kiss the baby. So, that's not mine. Those two are mine. I just had twins. We want to honor you. We want to give you we want to give you keys to town hall. Okay. By the next township meeting, February 7th, okay? And and the news stations are all answering us who these people are. They want to all talk to you. And it's amazing. Such a kid. Amazing. February 7th, 7:30 p.m. Town Hall is 233rd Street. Send the information to come by. And again, I understand from yourself, you probably don't want the honor, but it helps other people see this is a good thing. I want to emulate this person. I want major condition. People see that they hear the story again and again. It's a great thing. It's a good thing for us. It's a good thing for for even for Lakewood, not just the district, Lakewood in general. We try to promote pump everybody. Hi, how are you? The mayor of Lakewood. Councilman. Councilman. Hi. We're going to honor everybody who was involved and and we want to give you a little special mention. Yeah. It's a shame you didn't get the guy's number cuz we're looking for him. He disappeared. He just he was walking down the block and all I know is he was a guy in a blue hat. Blue cap. Wow. Cuz you don't even know he was if he's a Lakewood resident or I was holding the kids. I turned around he was gone. Your mom was just jacked up the car and walked away. Come out. Say it's amazing. The presence of mine. They just jump. Well, do we know how they are or I think they're in critical but stable. Yeah. Another few seconds and they would have been I mean you should know that better than me, right? Yeah. And the other person we're still going to look for him. Okay. see if we could re reunite. When did you move to Lake? How long ago? Uh 6 weeks ago. And then four weeks ago actually in the process of moving a couple days. And we're moving into Thank you. We should know when I heard when I when I heard the story, I was yesterday, I was nauseous the whole the whole day from when I heard the story until until a few hours later until I heard that they were in stable condition. You know, I'm I'm imagining my little Yeah. imagining my little kids, you know, like I couldn't I couldn't get out. It's like the first time I've been I'm I'm involved for 3 years now. It was the first time that I just got totally r I couldn't function yesterday. I just I can't at least the worst was prevented. Thank you so much. What exactly transpired when you got to the scene? You got there and what? Give us a little description of exactly what took place. She had made the turn onto Route 9 going southbound. I was coming up right at that intersection and I saw the car shorts stop like sort of like a bump. I have a little short stop. So I figured something happened. So I pulled up. When I was pulling around her, I saw her through the stroller and two kids got on. What was your immediate thought that happened as soon as you got there? The worst. The worst. So when I got out, I'm a train. So when I got out, first thing was I checked on the kids. They were not breathing. Then this guy came by, white guy. Where was he at the time? Where did he come from? Well, I'm not really sure, honestly. He was walking, he must have been walking up the nine because by the time I looked up, he was already going to the trunk, yanking out the uh the jack. So, I helped him get the jack in place while I was holding the kids head so it shouldn't fall. And then once the kid once they got the jack up, the the kid that was on top of the older one, she started breathing. And they were crutch. That's what they were. They couldn't breathe. They were pinned one on top of the other under the car. And as soon as he got the jack up, she started breathing. And then someone else came by and started taking looking at the baby and then she started breathing and was there very quickly got them out and got them hospital being the right place the right time obviously certain that you were able to be there in the right place. Okay. We want to thank Lakewood first aid hatal and EMS for everything they did for the families. We just had the opportunity actually to go meet the Samaritan one of the good Samaritans who had been very helpful during the the event. And so we certainly want to thank both good Samaritans that were out there at the time at a moment's notice to jump and have the presence of mind to grab the jack out of the car and jack it up to be able to get the child out.
