hi everyone one of photoshop's most
useful tools is puppet wallp which gives
you incredible control over image
transformation it essentially lets you
manipulate objects characters or shapes
as if they were puppet with movable
joints and this video will demonstrate
some of its abilities let's jump into
puppet warp it's right here in the edit
tab I opened a file with one of
element's characters a child walking to
school with a backpack let's see how we
can modify these character's
[Music]
pose when applying puppet wallp it
automatically creates a mesh over your
object I prefer to turn off this mesh
display and use pins only this gives us
a cleaner view we'll see how it works in
a
moment I duplicate the detor and apply
the puppet bulb on it I'll add pins at a
key points by left clicking shoulder
neck knee ankle and so on dragging any
of these pins you control the entire
character's
movement I'll add two more pins at the
other ankle and knee moving these pins
lets us adjust this legs position
too this lets you create an like effects
where the character walks skips or jumps
and the best part is that you're doing
it all from just one original
pose moving the neck pin backward tilt
his head
[Music]
upward let's do another duplication of
this character and try some different
[Music]
poses right now he appears to be looking
at a caterpillar on the ground but a
pose seems
[Music]
unnatural pulling the neck pin back
makes it look more
realistic kind of a dance you can col it
the backpack
dance let's try some
[Music]
more let's explore another one different
character different pose here's a
frontal character instead of the profile
view the process is similar placing pink
pins at each joint for movement
control let's add pins at a
neck
head
shoulders
knees ankles and the right
toe and another one here at the back
again see how moving each pin affects
the whole body movement
[Music]
now after modifying the poses of all
these kits let's see how it looks before
and
[Music]
after now let's see another example in
fast motion we'll switch back to normal
speed in a few seconds and we'll see
another function of this tool
[Music]
when elements overlap we can control the
layering in this case choosing whether
the hand appears in front of or behind
the
head by clicking here you can control
which parts appear in front and which
part stays
concealed see how I switch between the
two in front of the
head behind the head
[Music]
when working with a separate layer you
can control individual Parts in
pendently like in this example where
this guy's Hammer swinging arm is on its
own
layer so we can control the arms
movement without affecting the rest of
the body
[Music]
that wraps up our Basics overview of
this tool stay tuned for more tutorials
where we'll explore additional Advanced
features of puppet Warp
[Music]
thanks for watching see you mam in the
next tutorial
