MAKING AN EPIC SURPRISE FOR AN UBER DRIVER!!! (Social Experiment)

man this is turning out way harder than i thought it would be are you willing to do it jeffrey i thought we had something nice going on what happened you serious okay that was a complete non-starter what about my girlfriend let's face it the past few months have been difficult for everyone with the massive pandemic raging its way across the world and political tensions in the united states at an all-time high it can sometimes feel like we're living in a never-ending cycle of doom with all this in mind i sat down to figure out if there was a way that i could help to restore faith in humanity and then an old idea of mine resurfaced and i thought it would be perfect for these trying times so i reached out to my friends at mint capital to see if they'd be willing to partner with me to make what i want to do is take an uber to a restaurant and when i get to the restaurant i'm going to ask the uber driver to join me for lunch or dinner i know most super drivers will not want to do this because first of all they're probably afraid of strangers and also they have to work and who wants to take off an hour of time middle of the workday but whoever does it will get 500 because you know everyone's suffering during the pandemic and people need money just for basic needs what do you guys think of this i'm amazed at the idea i think as a company we are built on helping people and we do mortgages but our philosophy is helping people help people to grow healthy people in the community so it's definitely something we want to be part of i think it's an amazing idea i'm pumped about the idea and you're going to do a video about kindness it's exactly what we strive for and what we service our clients with to be kind to everyone and to help everyone in the community let's do it thank you so much awesome okay i'm gonna let you know how it goes due to the fact that most restaurants in the new york and new jersey area were closed due to covet 19 restrictions i booked myself a ticket to florida and set out on this journey good morning good morning it's a little bit after 5am i'm probably late for my flight and we're about to go to fort lauderdale miami to make this thing happen let's do it okay so thank god we made it through security it went very quickly less than five minutes i'd say the entire process and uh my voice is gone i was a little bit under the weather earlier this week so i sort of lost my voice but thank god i could speak i believe you guys could hear me so it's all going to be good look who it is what's up guys i want to remember him he was in the army he was in the first afghanistan episode where's your hat okay very nice i'm happy with this hotel um i'm gonna jump into the shower freshen up and let's go out and do this i'm so excited this is finally happening this concept came to me a couple years ago and i never acted on it today is the day let's do it thank god i'm out of the shower i feel much fresher and i'm ready to go on with my day now i want to show you guys something this arrived to the hotel before i got here check it out this is a big check siemens capital it's addressed to the lucky recipient five hundred dollars from schlemmie's einstein capital keep smiling you know there are so many people in the world who are normal people and normal people would not take off in middle of work the middle of the workday would not just go out heat with a strange or middle of a pandemic but i'm looking for somebody who's out of the box somebody who thinks different somebody who's a little bit more open-minded and that person will get to go out uh they'll be treated to an amazing lunch and then they will get an awesome 500 which we could all use right now during these tough times obviously when i'm going to ask the drivers if they want to join me i will not be telling them there's a surprise at the end because i'm looking for that special person who would be willing to go out even if there was no surprise so that's the plan let's go out and make it happen i'm not expecting it to be the first driver i'm probably going to get a lot of rejections but i am not going to stop until i find the right person okay so i just got out of the hotel unfortunately it's not a very sunny day but who cares somebody's day is about to get a lot brighter okay i just stopped at the bank to pick up the money and now we are going to get into our first uber and head to the restaurant i wonder how many drivers it's going to take i'm guessing that it'll be three or four but i would be pleasantly surprised to find out that the first driver is willing to do it so let's make this happen okay so it looks like we got a driver his name is jeffrey and he's gonna be here in three minutes so let's see how this goes but first a word from where do you like all of them were expecting to come inside the car honestly like how are you supposed to do that mind you they just came from the beach so they they were they had like sand all over the place uh a cooler full of like beer and sodas they put in my in my in my trunk right which they didn't close correctly as i drove off well i remembered all the cooler right so i i opened the trunk i want to take the cooler out everything everywhere the glass the like broken glass and stuff no the glass didn't break but i mean they were like empty bottles but it was everywhere oh my god uh imagine ice sands [Laughter] [Music] um let me ask you something you be you want to join me for lunch today yeah a few other companies a package to pick up thank you that did not work we're gonna have to try again okay so now i'm walking away from the restaurant and uh enough to walk a couple more minutes so i can order an uber and go back i'm kind of surprised that he said no we were talking almost the whole time and i was sure he was going to do it jeffrey i thought we had something nice going on what happened okay so i'm still walking i'm about a five minute walk away from the restaurant i'm gonna go a little bit further i'm actually enjoying this because i mean it's a beautiful town take a look weather is nice once again it's not very sunny but a pretty nice day so i'm going to enjoy my leisurely walk and hopefully in a couple minutes we'll pick up another driver who says yes hopefully this time the driver will agree to come in with me because i am starving i haven't eaten anything today and it is 4 30 p.m so let's try to make this happen we got a driver his name is dimitrios and he is one minute away also you need to understand that it is rush hour now so it's prime time for uber drivers to be out driving it's gonna be a little bit difficult to find somebody but hopefully dimitrios is gonna be the man hello hello how are you good thank god how are you thank you we're going uh carlos and gabby's how long have you been driving for uber six months six months you like it yes before i didn't like to drive now i like to drive did you have a different job before this uh in my country where are you from venezuela venezuela wow my dream is to visit venezuela about right now i don't recommend you right but maybe one day things will get better okay so dimitris let me ask you something would you be willing to come in with me for lunch uh really i can't go because i have to work sorry about that you sure i'll i'll pay for your meal no no problem yes i know but i would love to thank you no no thank you thank you so much okay thanks thank you okay we got another rejection that was quite upsetting because dimitrios is a venezuelan immigrant i would have loved for him to get the money but he didn't want to do it he said he had to work and i feel bad you know it is rush hour everyone's trying to work but we're looking for that special someone who is just willing to go out let's see what happens for round three i walked about 10 minutes away from the restaurant again and i'm about to call another uber hopefully this time the person will take it it hurts me every time someone passes up on this offer because it really would be a good opportunity for whoever took it it's just unfortunate that they don't know that and i can't tell them we're looking for a spontaneous person i'm gonna call the next uber now and hopefully this one will be successful they say the third time is a charm hello okay that was a complete non-starter lewis didn't even speak english which means we would not be able to communicate at all and it wouldn't be this beautiful interaction that i hoped it would be so we are going to have to try again for the fourth time okay we're about to do round four i walk to get away from the restaurants for about 10 minutes hopefully this time it happens maybe last time it didn't work out because i didn't pray enough dear god please make it work out i am starving and i really want to give this money away let's do it i don't know why i have a good feeling about this guy he looks like a really happy dude that's hopefully it works hi eldest how are you you live in the neighborhood do you live in the neighborhood of course you live in the neighborhood i am not speaking english okay okay it's a little update over here i was too hungry to continue doing this on an empty stomach so i came into the restaurant i'm gonna eat something myself and then hopefully i'll have renewed energy and go out there and find the right person to make this happen wish me luck okay so now that i'm eating i'm going to be much more relaxed and hopefully we'll be filled with new energy and ready to do this again okay so we have another driver andre um this is attempt number five i've eaten i'm more relaxed i'm ready to continue going with this please god let it be this driver let's get this over with let's get this done i want to give the money away already i want this person to have their day made into an awesome day hello hello how are you good thank god how are you it's raining outside so i'm glad to be in the car let me ask you a weird question that's okay yeah are you hungry yeah yeah yeah would you come out with me for dinner now i'll pay for your dinner no you're gonna come no man thank you thanks a lot okay okay so my last attempt was a complete disaster i really was excited and i thought the guy was gonna agree because when i got into the car i asked him are you hungry and he said yes he said why don't you come out with me no thanks i'm okay i'm working okay so we are trying again i'm not even sure which attempt this is this is their number this is either number six or number seven i'm pretty sure it's number six um but i could be wrong the driver's name is hussein now that would be really cool if it worked out because he's from an arab or muslim country and he's gonna go out for dinner with me that's world peace happening right there so i really hope this one works out i'm not getting my hopes up because i've been rejected too many times but hopefully maybe who knows maybe there's some hope let's see what happens you know it's crazy to me that you know i'm just thinking that there's somebody driving around thinking about all the regular stuff in life and they have no idea that something amazing is waiting for them i'm just out here actively trying to find that person so remember if you're watching this video know that there could be something amazing about to happen to you and you're just you know you're worrying about your day-to-day life but have some hope because by all means it's quite possible that there's something really good in store for you coming very soon now let's see many many times wow i have a lot of friends there oh good yeah you like it uh yeah it's a very very pretty city people are pretty nice i've been trying to do something nice for somebody all day and i outside the post office here um we just had a close call so hussein technically was open to coming but he said he has another drive another ride waiting for him so he needs to go and he said but he did give me his phone number and he said let's do it another time i said how about breakfast tomorrow morning he said no but he did give me his phone number and i know that it's real because i already called him and so man this is turning out way harder than i thought it would be and i you know i feel bad because everyone's out there trying to support their families and it's a very noble thing to do and i'm coming here and i'm saying put your work aside just go out with me and most people they're doing i guess what is the responsible thing and they're saying no i have to you know make money i understand them completely but i'm looking for that free spirit you know a person who's willing to put everything else aside and just get to know another human being and i'm starting to believe that maybe that person doesn't exist i don't know i think we already did six i'm about to do a seventh and i'm gonna keep going but eventually we're gonna be running at the problems because it's getting later it's i think it's past eight o'clock most restaurants are gonna be closed by 10 or 11. so let's give it another few tries to see what happens i think this is number seven i think could be eight i don't know anymore let's see what happens robert is the driver not getting my hopes up but i also hope that he's gonna say yes hello hello how are you okay so i'm back at the post office driver number seven i believe it was said no he barely spoke english like he basically didn't speak english i said you know who cares i don't even care if he doesn't speak english i'll go out with him anyway just want to get this done he too i he understood my question like i explained to him he said no he's okay i'm starting to think maybe i'm the problem maybe it's it's i'm coming across too creepy i'm trying to be so nice i'm trying to i'm trying to ask you if they're hungry if they want to go out i told people that i want to do a good deed for the day or something no bites i don't know what to make of this okay number eight is on the way let's do it hello good thank god how are you i've been trying to do a good deed today and i'm looking to take someone out to dinner would you like to come out with i'm working for it and another fail that was number eight i've already spent a hundred dollars on uber trying to do this and i've gotten nowhere should i give up i don't know what to do to be
