Major Water System Upgrades Planned for Grove Street and North Saddle River Road

Good morning. So, I'm here with Highway Superintendent Bin uh to discuss the work project that the Olio Water Company will be starting in our town uh next Monday, January 12th. Uh as people are aware, this is a large project. It's a much needed project to uh increase uh water capacity in the town in that area. Uh they're putting in about 3,000 ft of 20 in water manes. uh going from number 85 Grove Street to um uh east to the intersection North Sutter River and then going north on North Sutter River Road to the intersection of West Maple. And this is um a project that will have an impact on our residents and we're doing what we can to minimize that impact. So I think first we want to uh just inform everybody this is not a town project. It is a Violia project. uh we cannot control the type of project or the construction they're doing but we did reach out and uh have discussions with them because we know there are concerns about how this will affect our residents with Violia. They agreed to do the next project on uh on Saddle River which I believe is what the uh detour that you had seen previously posted which is incorrect and that's why we're clarifying this issue right now with with you guys. One additional thing, uh we also were able to get the agree to pay at their expense police officers to be present to uh um guide traffic and uh make sure traffic flows as fast as possible during the construction >> with the school buses. >> Oh, especially uh when it comes to school bus during the morning hours when there's school bus traffic when that's critical. Our intention is not to inconvenience residents. God forbid. It's only to improve the structure and the infrastructure that the town has. And we're very I mean I know I'm pleased that Viola I'm sure the supervisor is pleased that Viol has decided to uh to commence this project. It's definitely needed. Uh and I'm sure given the feedback that we got on that last phase when they did the uh when they did from Remson to the tank, it was very very minimal inconvenience uh and complaints that we got even from the bus company. So, we're hoping that this project will go smoothly again and uh minimizing as uh much inconvenience as possible, but it is definitely for the future. It's definitely for the long run a great improvement and needed for the uh for the community. >> Thank you. >> Sure. So, as the supervisor mentioned, this is a a very big improvement to the to the water system in the uh the area uh which Violia has been uh requested to undertake for a while now. Um and we've worked out the work to be done in different phases. As some of you will remember, several months back, we did work from Remson up to the water tank on growth. Um, in our conversation with Vio with the Oolio, we decided to do this in phases. And at this point, this is the next phase of that project um where they're going to be continuing that water man from uh the bottom of S River Grove, working upwards towards that water tank. There will be another phase um phase three I guess you can call it which we specifically negotiated with the Golia to do during the Passover holiday um so that we know that there are no buses and it will greatly minimize the inconvenience to the neighborhood during that time which they definitely which they agreed to. Also it should be noted I think just to clarify the will be working on Saturdays as well but not Friday. So it will be a six day project Monday through Thursday and then Saturday might where they don't work on Saturday. But again, their intent is to get this project done as quickly as possible with minimum inconvenience uh to the residents. And again, once this work is done in in uh on Grove, the town will be putting in um more um in in increased drainage. They're going to be improving the drainage system uh on the road as well. And also once the drainage is in it at the same time um we're going to be putting sidewalks in on road which has been a major request from the residents of the neighborhood as well. And that's why this project has been has been planned for a while um and we're trying to get it done as quickly as possible.
