Sunday uh your idea of a leisurely Sunday does not usually include a shul dinner fundraiser so I consider it personal uh favor and has said to me and today's agnesis that you came out tonight it really means a tremendous amount to me let's just pause for a moment and backtrack let's go back in time one year's time one year ago we were across the street in the trailers with really no foreseeable future we're putting together a campaign but we weren't even sure for what we knew we had to proceed there was no turning back it was not an easy predicament that we were in and that really created this miracle yeshim this house was yishmaian nobody knew it existed I think three was the one who discovered it I believe he sent the message to Rafi I sent it to Ronnie Ronnie said Jump On It and I don't think he knew what he was getting into he didn't know what he was getting into but McGowan's um all of you are here today played a very important role in making this a reality whether you come and you dive in with us whether you learn with us whether you show friendship whatever minotomy come for whatever you're able to do for us it means a tremendous amount Whoever has been here from the beginning you know I like to say is I will not forget the Loyalty you had you came with us we don't know what the future entailed and her College world who should be moving all of you with really simplest in your family good health and that you did for us to make this reality I appreciate everyone who davins with us my neighbors my friends people who come during the week people who come to makhazikas at occasions like this when we need it most thank you thank you thank you um so I mentioned Ronnie told us to jump on it and we were in a situation where without him we would not have been able to come into this place and secure the location and to continue this whole time so we thank Ronnie for uh his continuous haircut thank you I want to thank a very special mishbaja the Davidoff family we have the Father Robert Is Here and uh the this this occasion should be Lily's Joshua who were in the first Shana of her Patera so the family has been very staunch friends of me and the kihila for the from the Inception of the shul and thank you yosis not here yaakov Daniel thank you very much for your friendship and Hashem should repay you for your Hassan [Applause] those okay I want to thank um a special young man who is responsible for producing the promo video for the campaign mayor glantstein has been 24 hours a day that I may lost tremendous amilos producing this video professional quality thank you very much mayor for your help I want to thank um all of you who help us with the Felice those who give shirim when I'm not around with Daniel and for those who who Lane and down for the Ahmad and really this year has been a remarkable year we had a safer Torah given to us by the Solomon mishbacha before Rosh Hashanah time which we've been leaning since voracious recently the Weinberg family we have a brand new savitar that just came to our own this week so it's really miraculous that in in the year's time and of course the safer term that my grandfather rescued from the Holocaust is uh ready for special occasions like Shabbos and other other location occasions as such so thank you everybody as uh the school is dedicated in honor of the memory of my revered grandfather gladstein secretary and we're sure that his will be made for us for all of us who dive in the kahila and the reason we're having this campaign I'll tell you the truth I was very afraid to embark on this campaign nobody enjoys having a campaign it's a very difficult thing to endure and I knew we had to do it in order to go through to get through the coming year we're going to have to have this campaign but I was I didn't know how this was going to happen lipsky gave me a call and he was he was working he's one of the directors of Yeshiva taravadas something like that he's one of the administrators and right after that's dinner Benjamin gave me a call he said I'm finished my dinner rub whatever you need I'm dedicating my coaches to help the show and really those words gave me the to embark on this campaign so Hashem should pay you kefle keflame and you should have tremendous in your family thank you very much so we don't have don't have show honorees this is this is the dinner you know so but and um I actually asked every single person in the can nobody wanted it you know everybody is deserving of being honored but I want to show special karasa type to a young man who from the Inception of the shul whenever something is needed to be done to be on call for taking care of the property to be on call for taking care of the safer Torah being on call for anything sprinkler gardening setting up you name it he's been there he doesn't want to thank you he doesn't need an acknowledgment and part of the honor is going to his father as well because uh you know we as we say a chip off the old block you know uh but we won't know all on behalf of the whole kill we want to recognize the efforts of lipsky who has been there for us anything we've needed pencres has been there so I want to present you with [Applause] all right [Applause] a small token of appreciation you know we don't have uh a big plaque but except this heartfelt gift in deep appreciation for what you mean to akihila thank you very much [Applause] okay so we're gonna hear a few words from some of our friends some of them are misspellim and by the way everyone is invited to get up here you have 90 seconds so we're gonna call upon um Alex Shulman is right here he's a dear friend of mine for many years at least 10 years he spoke last year so he's grandfathered into the program someone who gives me a lot of physics from his personal Aliyah without further ado Alex Schulman Esquire thank you a good good evening everyone so it's a bit close to be here with the rough shlita and in this beautiful Malcolm we're going to keep it very very brief I'm going to tell you a story that was personally very inspirational to me very very simple story very well known says the balshamtov and the tamidam they were sitting and they were learning and they were diving in the basement and a Ukrainian wagon driver got his wagon stuck in the mud in front of the base medrish and he peeked his head in and he asked can you please help me get the wagon out of the mud so they looked on him and they said the wagon is too heavy and the mud is too thick we can't help you so the wagon driver said you're able to do it you just don't want to do it from this we learn a very very deep lesson a big lesson and about this Hashem many of us we erect glass ceilings on our ability to grow and our ability to come close to the avish there and to increase and to raise up our Voda we believe that our past and all the shortcomings of the fat of the past you know curtails our ability to restart to rejuvenate the present and to move forward in the future and to raise ourselves up but really the msbms every single one of us we can restart starting this moment to live a Holier higher life in a higher existence all tonight and condition in my opinion my personal opinion that one has a rebbe that one has a mashpear that one has somebody to rely on and this kahila has Rabbi gladstein and everybody knows about the shuram everybody knows about this forum but what sometimes is overlooked is the Rob's impact on the yachted and the individual and every single one of us where were we when we just met the Rob and where are we now we perhaps are not the biggest sadikim in the world but one step at a time one step at a time is where we're going and I just saw it's an amazing story they say that a man brought his son to the khazanish and the boy was playing with a little coin and he and the coin got stuck in his throat and he started choking on the coin it's in rep crimes biography it says beautiful very nogaya so he said they turned the child over they started hitting him and the coin wasn't coming out the Khazana said quick bring him to the pawn of It's Your Love he's an ex expert at getting money out of you then and the kids started laughing and the coin came out so listen we don't have the part of it to rub anymore we have to make these appeals but uh whoever's able to be mishta he was making a Kiddush when the when the minion was in the back yet with the minion was in the living room and he was making kids father Tesla of Sivan and Ronnie came over so Isaac made the sheriff so Isaac gets the assist on the whole you know this is one of Ronnie's many projects but uh he does each one believe Sheldon thank you you're on now now on tour anytime yeah yeah it's good for her business um okay so I I didn't prepare it I'm not good at preparing but uh I I just a couple of thoughts that um uh uh have been sort of following me over there the last couple of darum um and nogat to this week's Parsha nogata is being here today right so wrong right it's uh um a very unique passage in this week's Porsche uh you you have it sort of bookmarked by these noons that are upside down there are all sorts of interpretations as to you know is it the start of a book it's its own book there's something special here but we see that it's really the build up to this in a sense from carry us to this to this point and that that's really the whole the whole Crux of what's Happening Here um you see a lot of times between the end of one Parsha to the next partial they give you a reason as to why it's positioned in this particular place but I think if you take a look at it in an overarching sort of view you see that really everything from matantora is is a run-up too if I even saw our own house so so you see when when Moshe was in heart cni right the the my all the Malachi of the mishkan was really in in a sense in the makshava right and then towards the end of shemot it turns into the Masa they're making it right in pecode they go through all everything that they made for the mishkan vayikra starts with all the qurbanas that are associated with it then you know you run through all the Tuma and tahara all the kosher animals non-kosher animals lead into the kosher and non-kosher between you know what what's tar and tame it with people and and so on and then and then with tezria and matsora till you get to it's about mid bar but mid borrow Sun becomes a little bit weird right it's it's numbers as uh you know some other people refer to it why all of a sudden are we counting again right what's what's the point in the counting it it seems to be almost a complete distraction you go a little further right now now you have all the um the um right and all the um well then to see him bringing all the different corbanos each one's the same you know we repeat it but we still say it okay very nice right but what's what's the whole point so it all kind of leads up to our road in the same sense right meaning that in the mid bar right as we count each and every single individual right there we all have a place it's similar to right right before motionaron go to Paro you get also this genealogy right of of how how you lead up to much of the arrow so the same thing when you take a look here you see it like it it starts happening you start there's all this counting leads up to Nate Gershon and and they're moving of of the mishkan meaning that every single individual has this helic has this part in the moving of the mishkan right you can't move the mishkan unless everybody else around it starts moving so we start counting every single person everybody has a helic right all then you see him they're all equal playing field they start together they're all doing this by actor there's one person whereas one chavet there is one nation you turn up on right so the same thing here we all building up everything that we've been doing here since we were in the trailers since we moved into this house and now you know we've been here a year right right the Michigan was was was erected and we have this beautiful beautiful uh uh uh shul and Rabbi Gladstone with all the every week you come you find some new tradition to this to make it more comfortable more pleasurable a place of kedusha and Torah so here we are at this point we we've gotten to this point now it's time for us to really like he been sorrow until time for all of us to get up really and and carry it to the next level to the next stage Hashem you know each one of us should take the the the words that uh that of Torah that we learn here and all the music that we get here and and how it it's our day-to-day and all the good that it brings to this world and to our families and to the people that we know and all around through rabbi gladstein's Torah should be a solution for all of us we should take it with us and really everybody should do their part to take it to the next level [Applause] thank you very much gonna ask uh my good friend of David Solomon who uh our shul was in a situation we were using my dear neighbor Dr monachum Fuchs we're using the family safer Tyra from the gravies but then uh you know we borrowed it for a very very long time and we were looking for a new safer Tyra and I always get tremendous music from this because there's no talking in the show so even though we know David for many many years going back to the Taurus Ms days the reason we resort her to a brand new safer is because of the way we we dive in uh tahara and then that safer was lonely so it called you know for more caducea more kadusha but want to call Panna Solomon Esquire to uh he addressed us in our inaugural meeting and uh thank you very much everybody gladstein it's an honor to be here uh as Robert gladstein previewed for you I couldn't think of a better place to house our safer Torah to be in a shul I'm jealous of all of you to be in a show with no talking with such another God all I know Robert gladstein for at least 10 maybe 15 years I was trying to remember uh back to our Queens days um so what you're doing here is super special you you're you're beaming out shurum to the entire world you're having an impact on Claudia's thrill far beyond what you see in front of you and to dive in an assured with no talking is extraordinary um I was zoka to it at one point in my life been now for you to do this on an ongoing basis is extraordinary so I urge everyone as much as you can to be mishtate from the campaign um it's very special to have a show like this even when I come in here it's something special and I take it with me into the um throughout the year um it's as close to being Robbie Gladstone's Dollarama us and thank you for having me and I hope the campaign is super successful [Applause] yeah okay okay I want to call upon uh one of ourselves who has given a number of shurim and they've received very favorably and he also has a very beautiful name Daniel Mamon thank you Robert gladson um actually a couple years ago when uh Torah anytime you know starts to really make it big so I used to listen to some serum so I hear who's you know of Danielle gladstein and I was really drawn to this urum quotes live from um which is different it's nice to hear and I said okay I would really really like to meet him and I was in Queens at that time and I think Roe was on uh next to ishibitana right and uh but I never got around to it and I think the rub gave a sheer I think it was on um I remember the question I actually sent an email a question um it had to do with like um I believe it was whether or not you would say shalom aleichem on circus like in the sukkah whether or not it's needed and I remember you responded to me yeah yeah and um so that really drew me in and then I just kept listening to this year and I said oh I would really really love to to meet him and then sure enough um you know I moved to the neighborhood a couple of years ago and then one day I was walking by and I saw some figures in the in the window and like I never noticed anything there before and I said oh I said oh there's a there must be a sure another show popped up and then I I you know through the group chats you know the community chats so then I I had my opportunity you know my my real wish came true and uh coming here to Daven it's really uh uplifting as so many people have said there's no talking and um it really elevates the diving and just to hear the the Sheeran from the Rob I think it just you it's on my opinion you know I I tell this to my wife all the time I say I don't just listen to anybody and so I just can't you know some people either you have it or you don't for me uh and and the rub definitely has it so um it's just a pleasure just hearing uh your words of Torah the khadushim I just think it's it's really phenomenal and I think everyone should really if you don't realize what you have then you should realize what you have and thank you very much foreign for helping out our show for giving me his look I think you added years on to my life but with the physic that you gave me with this campaign so Hashem should give you a rickhouse so Alex it started off by saying how the Rev impacts the individual I just want to share a quick story of how being involved here in the show has helped me and my family personally and then I'll talk a little bit about the campaign a few months ago I went out and bought something on behalf of the show and my wonderful wife told me you don't need reimbursing for that just you can cover that okay I listened to her bakashem the very next day without exaggeration the next day I got a letter from my insurance company oops we made a mistake on your flood insurance here's a refund exactly 10 times the amount of what I had spent I was holding the check and I myself didn't believe it it didn't make any sense but I'm telling you it was literally exactly tenfold the amount I showed the check to the Roth even so it's just cinnamon broccoli to me and my family had been very apparent since my involvement here in the show I've seen nothing but Barack my life from my involvement with Robert Gladstone so I just wanted to share that story with everybody um talk about the campaign a little bit The Campaign is driven by peer-to-peer funding I'm sure everybody has seen various types of campaigns it focuses on individuals reaching out to other individuals the average donation that we had last year I think was somewhere between 72 and 100 means a lot of people gave small amounts we managed to bring in a million dollars plus from these small donations it works you know people see the campaigns they see your name in it they they get involved um old people like me like email but I could tell you email is a dead platform WhatsApp is the way to go social media is the way to go post it on your status this post it send it to your contacts people who you never thought would give are going to give just because a they believe in Rabbi gladstein B they believe in you um so I had somebody who I had dealings with five years ago that I just put it out on my status and they they gave a hundred dollars very important to thank the people that give when you put on your status so just want to go over some of the teams that have already been created the idea behind the teams is that you take on a belief that their commitment it is there's no Aquarius on you whatsoever to make that commitment but you're gonna try as you get close to your commitment if you think you could do more call it a vote keep keep going but it really focuses very heavily on peer-to-peer sending it out to your friends your contacts your Associates putting it on your statuses and people respond you really would be surprised I'm not a fundraiser I don't like fundraising um but it works it's it's a program that really works well so I just want to acknowledge some of the families that have already come forward and the groups that they have over the um selected anybody who would like to help make a team that can reach out to me anytime um [Laughter] so the following families have committed to try in the 5000 and above range Mr Alan sector Mr Cavalia Schwartz Mr Phillip or slavski Mr Elliott gladstein Mr Ronnie benjamini and of course the Rock so if we have anybody who thinks they could possibly be in that 5000 and above category would love to have your help as well um I'm telling you it really really works you see you shocked when you start sending it out and people start donating on your page and every time you get an email a notification that somebody uh contributed you feel good you're like oh wow look and then all of a sudden the school accomplishes give it to that show because in his show there's no talking so he wanted to go into this show where about Hashem there's no talking and he gave us a bracha that in one year we should have our own place and the bracha was nascarim and uh rafi's uh Yad Yamin of the show like the right hand man so he's gonna share some he just conducted a very successful campaign for a different uh cause and he has some important advice for us so just very quickly I had my own uh campaign that I just ran recently it's completely different than this this is going to be a walk in the park compared to that you were all ambassadors over here this is very very easy yes put this link on your status it's a good idea however if you want to be really really effective you got a private message all your contacts one by one make it personal have your little stickle that you want to write with the link put the person's name copy paste it right each person go through your contacts take time and do it it's the it's the only way really to make progress and get this done and this is a very easy goal to get with so many people you just reach out to each person individually and it's very very doable it's a very very easy that's the best way to do it and that's it as we say in davening we said yesterday on Shabbos we said so I wish everyone brought up and they should be a successful campaign we should be able
