[Music] morning everybody almost good afternoon I guess so how many of you are wondering if you took a look at the flyer you see my name it's RAB Daniel mechanic this is my last name mechanic an inant name and we've we've heard every joke in the book you know do we do we fix cars is my father's first name Auto for auto mechanic we've heard every joke in the in the book I'm hoping that my the story is my my my great-grandfather he was a very big T came over from Europe came over from K was a LV and my grandmother but my grandfather came over from Europe and they said to him sir what do you do for a living so he said and became mechanic that's what I'm hoping the story is but in any event we are a family my father was in for 50 years he started a day school at Long Island uh I was his uh I had him as a Reby in fourth grade my father used to send him letters to my my mother when I didn't do my homework and uh I went to this it was a it was a madisha school my father had started he always told me that don't forget from you going to be a you go to regular Yesa put on a hat and you're going to learn so I graduated high school after 11th grade I graduated one year early uh why I was I was a well known I was I was I was an ELO I was an unov one of at the age of 16 I learned in learned there for 3 years learned in Lakewood I learned in learned in t many years and I got very involved in many many years ago from and um after being involved in Kira for many many years this whole issue of kids at risk or you know different problems in the in the FR Community when it came to the Forefront of the community about 15 16 years ago so I decided to take everything I learned in the field of and try to bring it into the system into the system so what started off I I developed the whole program to go in to beik the Kindel and no one was interested I called up 300 everybody hung up on me except for five schools very modern schools and here we are today after all these years where I go into uh over the last uh 15 years over moov in in the United States in Canada in England and we I've spoken to uh over 260,000 high school kids and I've learned a lot from this experience and it is these experiences over the last 15 years of going to all these schools have highlighted for me the indisputable fact that our system is G we are producing in tens of thousands of who love love love learning love doing mitz that's V but I've also come to the painful realization that after spending so many years in the best system in cl's history nevertheless many of our children are emerging from this experience without having compelling reasons real reasons they could explain what for their firm lifestyle why they sh and many of them are uninspired and many of them have not acquired the excitement that is so necessary today the excitement and the love and many then with their not having been kindled by the spectacular beauty of being a Fir and many do not have the answers to the most fun fundamental questions on and this all to Common problem is going to play many of them throughout their lives and when the inevitable nus not like it was 50 years ago when the inevitable nus pop up in their life if they don't have a love then yish will be Ser seriously challenged now I became aware of the magnitude of this problem this is such a big problem when I heard the responses to a question that I posed to two to 260,000 High School boys and girls I got in front of these T I do this came out every day I get in the room with them these are 11th and 12th grade girls all types and I'm in the room and I'll tell them I posed a question to them you're sitting in an airplane and next you is a Friday years and very politely they ask you in a very polite manner what why why are you from why you sh mitz what would you answer I as 260,000 high school kids and the overwhelming majority of them had tremendous difficulty articulating a coherent passionate and correct answer that means they were unable to answer the most important question of their lives isn't the most important question of Our Lives we have a whole and we ask her why you say that's very very weak and furthermore I I distributed a survey 12 uh 13 years ago I gave out a survey to 2,000 Bak girls the most 18800 Bak girls 200 it was an anonymous survey piece of paper and on the top it said m you be for your whole life why what give me an anonymous answer don't write your name don't write the name of your school you don't want to the right why what do you think 97% wrote it's close that's about 19920 of them 97% what do you think they wrote why they because that's the way they were brought up my parents 3% gave the correct answer which is CU Ty is em cuz gave us it's em 97% said because that's the way I was brought up now what makes that answer so weak why is that weak for a high school when I talk about a six-year-old a seven-year-old almost adult why is that a weak answer that's the way I was brought up because if I as the same C of 2000 n and Muslims and go they going to give me the same answer CU that's way they were brought up so we yiden who really have the EMS we're not going to provide our children with a qualitatively better answer than the go are we going to send out our children into the endless endless lifelong battle with the Su and Yahara it's of our kids how can we then expect them to have a meaningful inspiring and relationship with with with how can anyone have a relationship with anybody or anything if they're unable to articulate and say and explain why is it good to have this why am I married to this person why am I learning for why why am I having a relationship with this friend if you cannot explain and articulate why then it become it's it's very hard to sustain that relationship and keep it over the years dozens of principles from unas have made Panic phone calls to my office and they continue to do so on an almost daily basis here this morning already on phone I already got three emergency with with K that Kindle up with with high school kids and they call me asking me to meet with yet another student of theirs who has serious has questions questions on they have questions questions and it's not just teenagers it's not just teenagers hundreds of Seminary girls and married people of all ages have met with me and continued to meet with me over the years to discuss their so-call big kasas and they do have big kasas and they could all be effectively answered the answers were all readily available in the many that you could find in in the farm stores now when our children go out there in the world our children go out there in the world is it not an EV is it not a v that they hear and they're going to meet they have to know they have to know the between us and G but you have to make blanket statements got to be very careful because when they go out there and they meet these people they think we li for them so our children are not going to come into contact with these people furthermore how can our children love what or be inspired by AUM or a teacher or a parent for that matter who many of these kids NE they think this this a this parent in this school they think they're out to mess up our lives and cause us discomfort this is what I've heard from them how could they love a Hashem or a school that they perceive wrongfully so is only interested in punishing them and judging them how could they be inspired by Hashem who they think is imposing upon them all these restrictions and no no no and that's because they don't realize that many of them that he's a father he loves us more than we love ourselves and many of our children have no idea what really wants from us and why he created us and why he gave us a and what purpose do K serve in this world and they have no idea and they've never been told that loves them how many young young ladies have come to my office for guidance and help and they tell them you know loves you break out crying they never heard such so to conclude this part of my what I'm trying to say there is an ongoing War taking place in our children's lives and ours but we're here to talk about our children the suon is attacking our children nus and he is armed with nuclear weapons when I grew up the suan had a bullet once in a while that a hang grenade today the S thear has nuclear weapons at it disposal and if our children are going to go to with today's and today's without a powerful and Deepak of the Godless and the sweetness of and without an appreciation and an understanding of the magnificence of and without that a boundless love for and they're going to go out into this war they will be very they will be vulnerable they will be weak and they will not be adequately armed armed and protected for this lifelong battle our competition unlike when I was growing up and many of you our competition Waits on every corner knocks on every door and the Sahara intrudes upon our children's lives in the Insidious form of internet and videos and alluring tyus and sophisticated Cur that could find out there and if we're going to create an atmosphere where where in our children love yish and they love being from an atmosphere where they're inspired by learning T and keeping mitzvas there's only one way and that is we have to we have to destroy and demolish the emotional and the spiritual and the intellectual and thisness that the outside world dangles in front of their eyes every second of the day so the question is how how do we do this how do we plant values into the hearts and the minds of our impressionable and precious kind our children how are we going to inspire them to recognize the beauty of Y the truth of Y so my experience and again you know I'm I I come from a little bit of a different world than many of you more of a world but the sites are all applicable it's all the same thing so my experience over the last 25 years tells me we can indeed accomplish this task of raising from inspired kids we can do it and we could and we could win their hearts and Minds to the truth and beauty of yish kite but there's only one way and that is if we provide our children with the threefold three things which I call one our children have to know that we have a tyus emis it's emis it's true number two they have to realize that
