Look at any personality in the Torah and you will see their flaws and failures. Nothing is perfect. Today, we often act like everything should be straight and flawless. As adults, we need to show children that being human means having lust, anger, jealousy, and all the messy emotions. That does not make us bad, it makes us human. God has enough angels, He needs humans. Teaching this truth could change the way the next generation understands themselves and the world. A discussion with @yyjacobson and Dr Shloimie Zimmerman.

Find me one personality in the Torah who
the Torah doesn't talk about their
humanness, their flaws, and their
failures. But today we show that
everything is perfect. Everything's
going to go on the straight and narrow.
There's no way to integrate. If we teach
children, I as an adult and totally
human. That means I have lust. I have
murderous rage. I have jealousy. All of
that pulsates through me. Not because
I'm bad, because I'm human and not an
angel. God has enough angels. He needs
humans. And if we transmitted that,
deeply believed it in ourselves and
transmitted that to the children, I
think we would have a different
landscape. And this is sort of the the
peak place of shame and toxicity is
sexuality because it's all in my head.
