family changing a life-changing a community changing it's a complete game changer uh we really see the effects incredibly in my family so for example last night yesterday shabbos mavarakim i have an eight-year-old girl she went to shore on shabbos mubaraka stayed in shul for an hour and a half to say to hillam she did 30 40 allah and i tell you that is something that is only because of sivis hashem this is what sims hashem is doing for me this is what service hashem is doing for my family and this is what sims hashem is doing for you mushi good to see you back honey i apologize about that there it is so exciting what's taking place behind the scenes let me tell you ladies and gentlemen i just got lost back there because what is taking place tonight is impacting the future of claudius roll and i am just enthralled with all of it my dear friends we're at 76 66 000 it's not enough we got to dig deeper we the ticker's going way too slow we need to make this happen tonight two million dollars it's not that much money considering the amount of impact that civic hashem does in this world every single school every single miced every camp whether it's the largest overnight camps to the momentous occasion not just one but times two so as a young kid i went to some concert in brooklyn college and uh before i knew it it was a huge horror around the orchestra section and as a little kid i was like wow the power of music the power for someone to get up on stage and just like invigorate everyone just to get up and dance and be uplifted in every single way that little fire under me the barak hashem has lasted many many many years so it was my real honor and pleasure to call upon the guest of honor this evening outside civ hashem ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for avraham fried [Music] for 40 years it makes you feel very young right so we're celebrating 40 years of your music and it pretty much coincides with 40 years they were celebrating fantastic unbelievable what what type of like memories in connections hashem can you can you share with us over the years well first of all hashem gave me my first job yes rabbi back in the day i think i helped design their very first letterhead hashem logo and yeah he gave me my first break in the army of hashem so i'm thankful for that and here we are celebrating together wow so so one of the first the songs that we're gonna we're gonna have a pleasure of hearing you seeing is something from one of the one of the uh first albums what influenced you i thought we're gonna talk i have to sing some more eventually we'll give you a little bit of a bring me some chicken all right we'll give you a little bit of a break in in between but when you as as a child growing up who was it that you were listening to i know as a kid i'm listening to adam freed who who was it that influenced you who are you listening to when your door was closed and you're blasting the music on your record player you know and i was really really really a little kid yeah in our home we heard ebjective which later gave birth to yiddish gems which i'm very proud of we had a lot of hazonus in the house we had cantor david verdiger we had been seeing schenker and when i became a teenager of course it was mordechai motherhood and david so those are my inspirations wow that's uh a great eclectic uh mix of people i'm sure that that uh leaked its way into some of the music and some of the performances i must thank going back when i was really a little kid ellie lipscore oliver scholans nearly title bound ah what's something am i in my childhood voice gave me some beautiful solos and we did concerts together across the united states with ellie lipscore and um my very first break on the very first album no jew will be left behind i must must thank the man who gave me my first my first record album and contract she amended with let's hear it for she mentally please [Music] he believed in me and uh thank god we did a lot of good stuff together and of course you'll see green where would i be without jesse green's classics let's hear it for elsie yeah and of course some great arrangers who arranged the albums are beginning with marie the winter but they're the first two you remember that flamie marty the winter and then of course i met up with maisha laufer who wrote some of the most beautiful arrangements and gave me some great songs as well and many other people that i have to thank but we'll get to that a little later i hope so share with us something from the early days like what i but over the years i've witnessed that myself seeing so many people that you had an opportunity to perform with some people that everyone knows some people that some people might not know um outside present company you must have had some memorable duets and the next song that we're about to perform has been done so many different ways by yourself by others that have done it who are some of your favorite duets if you've had to have an opportunity to sing with whoa um i remember having the duet with joe ammar we one thing i remember joao mark everyone what sword did you say remember huh i always sang some stuff together i don't know yeah um that was a memorable duet with him on banjo he played banjo i didn't know that yeah whether the bongos joe omar whatever um it's always a thrill to sing with with mordechai it's always a great thrill and um i've sang the best with jesse green we've had some uh you know everybody pretty much has under the wet in the business vera hashem and uh of course of course going fisher due to fisher you think you know better than i thought who is some of your favorite but i personally would love to hear you sing this song just by yourself oh yeah personal with you when you released your first album you you were already married you ready uh you were still walker no so you come out with how many albums before you have a chance to find your brochure that's a good question eight years nine years that's like 81.89 four albums already by then 81 to 89. you do the math every game was an album back in the day on the year like boeing we had a cd i don't know savannah chapter rabbits and knew what she was getting herself into at that point right that would imagine actually have to ask one of these days we'll have a dual interview but uh over the years now it's probably very difficult to deal with major family life and things going on and being pulled and asked to fly around the world um to help people which you've been doing for 40 years what's that been like and what type of kadaram do you put to make sure that it doesn't interfere with your family how has it affected your family tell us a little bit about the inner workings of the avram friedman that's a tough one that's a tough one because it takes a strong strong woman and a strong family give her a round of applause everyone rabbits and free yes all right she'll kill me for this but okay um it takes a it's a team effort it's a team effort and the kids knew that you know this is this is the schlitz this is the job this is the mission they always had their blessings and um i'm very very humbled by their support by their physique all these years i couldn't do it without them that's for sure and without my wife so um to mrs friedman and the children and now the grandchildren that leads us right into the next song what a unique song at the time with the another yoshi yes yes you have these amazing ideas coming up with you know we figured songs to hit him you deign how did that work and and what is do you have any particular thought process when you're looking at the styles that are going to go on an album or the songs that are going to go on an album and say wow it would be smack to do something that's never been done before let's do a swing i think this song was all you see yasi green's idea you have to still record it yeah well i loved it i love it because you know the rainbow has a lot of color so we try to keep things interesting you know let's just stick to one to one uh one particular genre is that a hard choice then a hard choice to make as long as it's in tom you know as long as it stays in that then it's okay but this was a song that uh definitely had a yiddish attempt i always feared feel slowly that to what rhythm are we going to go out of goals what what what do you think what walls and that that that's not a that's not no man i don't think that's a a walls to go out of golis with to go maybe a march because we'll march or i today that doesn't have innovation sent me this song and i have no idea why he gave me this song because it's just a gem what a gem i was lucky to get that song i remember i was on an airplane flying to moscow with twa remember twa for your time the hotel i heard this song and a tree talking to a to a leaf and it made me so emotional thinking my family you know i was crying on the plane and um ever since this i've been getting so many requests to do a full cd of these you know hebrew songs that's right that's where it all started so hashem we did that as well oh let's do the chorus of big stages you've done it on small stages can you share with us what were some of the largest places that you had to sing at with you know how many people were at one spot or the biggest the biggest show we ever did was uh with murder high i think dede was also on the show it was a halamoid pesach i think in gun soccer you know where gun sacrifice in yerushalayim they say police said there were two hundred thousand people there that's what they said that's more people that bought kazan i should yes i should add that it was a it was a free concert [Music] but okay i remember seeing it was like a sea like that the people reached touched the sky that was just endless wow endless nothing went wrong in that show did it nothing went wrong now one one very uh difficult question share with us one of the worst memories that happened at a show that was mamish like disastrous something that like oy vey oh well after one concert in your shalom a little boy came running over to me with no intuitive there's a lot of information is written very well for the kids and i saw that each and every time that we did a unit together i saw her vitality i saw her highest and i saw her slowly but involved with your kids in a real way that's what you get involved in and hashem the rest is history that's incredible and i have the same experience i have today with me my son he's turned 10 years and you can can't just help that smile and be happy that this is the kind of rebellion my kid is putting on so you're telling me that it affects your kid how does it affect you does it affect you your family tactic we learn yes it affects me very much but on a serious note um it brings tremendous tremendous passion into the house i'm learning things that i thought i knew before i realized i don't
