[Music] okay hello everybody watching from YouTube let's do today's Kish today we start the Torah portion called Bo that is the third Torah portion in the second of the five books of Moses how are we today vone if I'm pronouncing your name correctly or is it VI Von I don't know um okay so I'm going to read in English out from The KES the synagogue Edition um and this is going to be super exciting it's a very action-packed Torah portion we read about the last um the final plagues that uh God sent to Egypt when the Jewish people were still being kept there as slaves by the Egyptians and we read about this uh interesting Dynamic with Pharaoh the king of Egypt and how he keeps recognizing the truth he keeps recognizing okay this is not cool what what I'm doing is not okay God is correct even says God is correct and I and my people are wicked and yet he continues on in his wickedness um it's a very interesting thing but uh without further Ado without a more of an elaborate uh introduction many of us are familiar at least with some of the details of the story so here it is with with the Precision of uh the so this this is my favorite way to to learn okay on the 15th day of tavet that is the month that we're in now actually um today is the 26th day of tavit on the 15th day of tavit in the year 2448 God told Moses and Aaron to announce the eighth plague so it's plague number eight out of the 10 locusts that's going to be the eth plague now each plague this we already learned in last week's portion so I'll tell you each plague was see as you can tell is the answer to your question Ori um anyway so last week we learned that each plague took a month but what does that mean that each plague took a month for 3 weeks Moses was warning Pharaoh what the plague would be what's going to happen he's saying I'm a messenger of God God is saying let my people go if you don't then this and this and this is going to happen and for one week the plague struck and that's true about all I was going to say all 10 but it's not true about all 10 it's true about the first the the nine plagues the 10th one actually struck Egypt in a moment in an instant and uh here we go on the last day of the warning period God said to Moses come to par to warn him again to release the people for even though I have made him and his criers obstinate stubborn and it would therefore seem pointless to warn him it is so that I may demonstrate these miraculous signs of mine in his midst in other words Hashem wants to make a point and Hashem wants to set the tone for the world to know God's Unity God's power and so that you may recount to your children and Grand children how I made a mockery of the Egyptians and how I performed my miraculous signs among them although he and his courriers will take this warning seriously he will still not be able to bring himself to send the people forth this will make the Egyptians look Preposterous and demonstrate how despite their power they are mine to do with as I wish you will then then realize that I am God also by warning him you will intimate to him that despite the fact that I have made him obstinate if he truly wishes he can still repent so Misha and Aaron went to par and said to him this is what God God of the Hebrews has said how long will refuse to humble yourself before me send forth my people so that they may serve me for if you refuse to send forth my people I will bring locusts into your territory tomorrow they will cover the surface of the land so that no one will be able to see the ground they will consume the surviving remnant of vegetation that was left for you after the hail and they will eat away all your trees that grow in the field so the previous plague was hail fire and lightning uh uh I mean Fire and Ice basically together it Fire Within the ice was coming down as hail and it really destroyed the most of the crops in Egypt so now mha is warning par that God is going to send these locusts that will eat what it didn't destroy your houses and all your courriers houses and houses of all the Egyptians will be filled with these locusts something that your father's and Father's father fathers have never seen from the day they appeared on Earth until this day and with that they turned and left P's presence they came they made their statement they told py what's going to be they started to demonstrate the glory of God they also let par know that it's not too late you really could still change as difficult as it is for you and as God had said the Egyptians for the first time took Mosa's warning serious ly py Courier said to him how long will this person continue to be a snare for us send the men forth let them go let the Jews out and let them serve God their God do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined we've been Hashem God is smacking us up over here there's no other answer so Mo Moses and Aaron were brought back to par and he said to them it's interesting because here before the plague even starts usually par like he waits until he starts getting this punishment and then he's like oh okay make it stop make it stop you guys could go but here before it even starts he's influenced to call to call M and and say okay we don't want this plague you guys go go free but uh it's conditional he says go and serve God your God exactly who will be going MAA replied we will go with our young people with our elders we will go with our sons and with our daughters with our flocks and our cattle for it is a festival of God for us py didn't like that P's like no heck no not you don't need all the Jewish people to go this is a I'll I'll pause here for a moment just to say of course all of Tyra it's not a it's not a history book it's not just interesting stories it's eternally relevant and every part of Tyra is eternally relevant to every person at every point of their life so this isn't only relevant when it comes Passover time this is relevant right now and one of the ways that that is so is problem but leave the children in in in my path of life you got to be real about how you're going to educate them um and uh of course this is this is wrong of course the most real thing is to educate our children in the path of God and in the path of Truth and some guy on Facebook is trying to uh get people to be a part of their Illuminati Brotherhood but I think I'm going to decline I mean I know I'm going to decline and probably everybody else who will see that comment will decline but Edward you're more than welcome to be here and and learn together with us okay back inside so par set to them sarcastically yes of course may God be with you when I send you forth with your children and your animals as well angrily he continued I have no intention of sending forth your children for you don't need them to perform your religious rights in the desert by asking to take them you're revealing your true intentions you're not planning a three-day holiday which is what Moses was asking for you're planning planning to flee the country altogether therefore watch out your evil intent will backfire and I will not send you forth at all furthermore I'm warning you look par says a bad Omen the sacrifice and with that Moses and Aaron were expelled from P's presence so you see he was influenced to to bring them back and say you guys can go but he set conditions and uh we don't negotiate with the T because in this portion we learn about the plague of the firstborn right the death of the firstborn and how Hashem passes over the Jewish homes and of course the Jewish firstborn are not struck
