essence people try to live through other people's lives vicariously through other people's lives which in essence shows that there's nothing in their brain but at the same token people also like to talk about their own life oh I went here I went there this is really the whole concept of social soci media is built off of that people show what they eat where they went how they act what they wear and everyone that is old enough mature enough knows that the whole thing is an illusion nobody lives like that nobody really acts like that nobody really talks like that but it's all a show so we've try to with modesty especially is to be ideal rather than minimum requirement so minimum requirement is over here ideal is the uh which is passing my elbow my elbow is over here so the forearm is over the uh the part on Top now when it comes to the uh uh uh the legs you have to wear you cannot wear pants because pants are part of men's clothing and there's a specific Mitzvah in the Tora for women not to wear the clothing of men is prohibition of women wearing clothing of men and prohibition of men wearing the clothing of women not even as a costume uh women are are are you know are forbidden from dressing up like men and men are forbidden from dressing up like women even as a costume like some people do for porm or other types of parties this is forbidden 100% forbidden so but needless to say on a regular day so pants for women not allowed not allowed uh also because pants show the definition of the body this is also a problem it's also a problem for women to wear high heels why because when a woman wears high heels her body moves differently she's walking on our tiptoes because she's walking on our tiptoes which aside from being uncomfortable that's not necessarily a uh the uncomfortable part is not a problem according to the Torah the problem is because you're walking on your tiptoes because you're walking on high heels your body moves a certain way which is attracting this is not allowed last but not least the skirt or dress that you wear must cover 2/3 of your leg 2/3 of your leg means 6 in from the bottom of your knee so let's say let's say if this is your knee knee let's say this is your knee so you calculate the bottom of the knee let's say this is the bottom of the knee you know you have the knee you have the bottom of the knee this is obviously my elbow should not be such a defining move that everybody sees every little inch of your body and how it's curves and so on this is also again attractive but not attracting uh as far as uh feet if you're going to uh we be like Mo most women you wear you know clothes uh uh uh shoes no problem if you're going to have open shoes it could be a problem because it's becomes attracting so if you're going to be home then no problem if you do the pedicures and all that stuff if you're going to you know go outside with this it's becomes a problem so it's better where it's better to wear the uh uh the clothes uh uh closed shoes not open shoes why CU you don't want the uh to be attracting with your even with your uh uh pink little toenail okay so it's uh it's not a ideal situation as far as modesty is concerned um as far as stockings stockings are only necessary if you don't cover 100% of your leg meaning if you wear the ideal dress or skirt that reaches your feet then you don't need to wear stockings if you wear a skirt or a dress that covers 2third of your leg meaning that a part of your leg is shown a part of your actual leg is shown then that has to be covered by a stocking or sock and that stocking or sock should be darker the darker the better it should not be skin color where you cannot tell the difference between your skin and your uh and your leg it needs to be noticeable that it's not your leg that it is a stocking that's in essence the point of it is to lower the attracting the attractivness has to be lowered that's in essence the uh the basic minimums of uh of women modesty in Judaism uh also lastly is uh if you're married then you have to cover your hair with a uh a cief or hat uh has to be covered if you're married if you're not married then it's highly part of their life not a single one without knowing all of them without even knowing 1% of them I can tell you not a single one of them has real happiness not a single one of them has a blessed life not a single single member follower or even PE person that listens to anything that they say has a blessed life has real happiness why because God is not there when you have perversion and immorality and many times one person is motivated why the other one is not motivated at all doesn't want to do it which could lead to marriage problems uh and many times divorce many times divorce so as far as the easiest path to conversion as far as timing is concerned typically it's shorter time frame for a person that's single uh to convert for obvious reasons that I just mentioned people not on the same page uh bigger responsibility financial and so on but it's a also so you know more difficult at times because a person has to be uh very uh committed which means that they cannot start any relationship throughout that entire process that they're trying to convert which could be years uh it's not conversion is not like conversion in Christianity or Islam where you just say a few things and you finished conversion in Judaism is a process it could take uh a year two years three years depends who you are and where you are in the world uh and uh the thing is though is that it takes time and if a person uh understands what I just said that means that they cannot start a new relationship with anyone during that entire time frame unless that person is on the same page with them and they actually also want to convert and to find a person that also wants to convert is not always easy it's not always easy so that's the thing it's a uh it's not uh it's usually easier to convert when you're by yourself as far as timing is concerned but more difficult uh to convert by yourself for other reasons so there's pros and cons I've seen both I've seen some people you know convert as a family with kids and I've seen people convert as individuals and I've seen people get divorced as a result of one person wanting to convert and I've seen people uh you know do a lot of different things but again there's not like a one siiz fits all that's perfect for everybody everybody's got their own case uh I have a neighbor that was intermarried I was thinking to invite her over for Shabbat to be obviously I have to invite her non-jewish husband to is this recommended or is this action giving the wrong message uh I would recommend you start uh uh inviting her by herself not for assume they actually went to the moon what are you going to do there once you get there nothing can't do anything over there anyway now as far as space travel space travel is simply a figment of our but it's not possible for the Torah to be false while the New Testament is true so these are what's called posate a couple of examples so so it's not possible for the New Testament to be true and the Torah to be false that's not possible okay so these are postulates so once you work off of these basic postulates and therefore you're working off of the same uh body of language the same verses you agree that this is what is written in this verse the disagreement is how you interpret it but nonetheless you agree that this is what the verse says then you have a foundation to build on that you can debate as much as you want to debate and you know and and and interpret as much as you want to interpret now that's why you've have debates between the Jews and the Gentiles throughout history the same it's like me saying that all people that are a dark complexion are the same now I know enough dark people that I know that there's a world of difference between a Haitian and a African-American from America and an African-American from different parts of America African-American from New York is a world of difference difference from an African-American from different parts of the South and guess what a real African is a world of difference from a africanamerican and even a world bigger difference than some of the black guys that I know that in Israel some of the Ethiopians so to say that all black is the same is stupid dumb just same thing like saying all Jews are the same dumb stupid saying all Asian people are the same dumb stupid it's just you cannot stereotype you cannot put everybody in the sing Single plate in fact many times some of the hatred that people have toward certain religions customs and people is because of bad experiences they have with a minority of them with a minority of them and that's and again this this is the the problem that people have uh usually there a problem is from a small group that's loud enough that makes it seem as if it's the entire group all right we're going to take maybe another one or two questions and call tonight let's see let's see is it right for a girl that's under 18 to go to a gynecologist according to the tah if she is married and she's about to give birth or she's pregnant and there's a need for it uh then yes but if it's just simply uh to um you know check herself then no even if she's not a even if she's uh 35 she shouldn't go to a gynecologist for no reason I spoke about this in a in a lecture recently there women that go to gy theologist for absolutely no reason are uh making a very very big mistake uh spiritually I have to do some repairs in my kitchen can I stay alone with the repair man when my husband is at work if I do not lock the front door to my apartment no you cannot do that um your husband has to to be present at the uh house uh or uh you have to leave the house can't stay with another man in the house even if the door is wide open okay we have one more question the difference between oh you're just saying what I said okay so all right guys let me see better to get my SMA in Israel or America uh better to get it depends on what you are looking for if you're looking for a document to for people to call you Rabbi in America if you're looking for real Torah knowledge then Israel it takes a lot longer it's going to take you uh in America it could take you a couple years in Israel it could take you 12 years 10 years uh to get it unless you're extremely studious maybe you can get it in five six years but usually it's much longer because there's a much more extreme testing system and so on but I could tell you that uh without uh any um shadow of a doubt that uh the rabbis of Israel the the people that have the you know you know and Israel are a world apart a World apart from what we have in the Western World yes of course you have some tourist scholars in America and in Europe and and so on but your average in Israel is um a world aart than than what you have here in America a world apart there's no no comparison uh so you know it's a uh if you want to become a real torist scholar your place to go is in Israel if you want you know simply get a certificate that people call you Rabbi for whatever you know egotistical reason then uh you could just get on the internet so can it depends what you want in life all right guys
