LIPA ON BROADWAY - Getting ready

I'm Lea rashash Shiva not really uh I I live near here so I I do know some of the words uh actually I just I teach at RCC I'm a professor here um he's been one of my favorite students because uh it's one of those moments where the teacher can learn a lot from the student that they're supposedly teaching this is going to be a great chance for me um to really step out and do something I've never been a part of before a real you know a professional show on Broadway 5 6 8 I have had the distinct privilege of having Lea schmelter in my classes actually a few of them and what an experience it has been I wasn't familiar with Lea's work before he entered college but I become very familiar with it but I've become more familiar with the man and I am very proud to know him he is a great guy but more than that Lepa is one of those individuals one of those people that you meet in your life that you will never forget he's inspired students in our classes here he's inspired professors like me and I think that people come into your life for a reason and that one of those reasons is this show leapa on Broadway celebrating 15 years of his career life sometimes is rough less than nothing like a balloon with no air what do you think of this how am I supposed to know I've already told you everything and nothing is working but listen Okay and then we go into the song and then the song ends and then we go back to Max you're standing up at this point remember it's amazing Lea look at what he's done one man in a very very small community has brought so much attention to not just his life and his and but his world and it's amazing because I was not as familiar uh with lepa's Community as I thought I was even though I live here I live right next to M and you know everybody goes about their lives to go from here to there even at a college where there's all these students from different walks of life it wasn't until Leo walked into my classroom that I really started to ask questions and it's an amazing process teachers can learn from their students and I have learned a lot from Lepa all we can do is DAV go get a minion but re they might be in the middle of eating dinner tell them I said it's important we are really excited about this show we have a variety of performers in this coming together to celebrate lepa's music and his vision for this show and this story he wanted to tell so that's what we're here for we're here to just help him tell this story to the audience for spe
