lemonade but I never really applied myself when I was 19 brne did men's clothing imported but whatever I built a little little business uh I moved out so that was that I moved to Canada so got opportunity to Buffalo New York back then Mass so I had opportunity to go there family I had family that was investing okay Toronto in I drove in every day I drove in I manage real estate I know you you sold me a house in Buffalo 20 years ago that house has a leak yeah he kept his real estate we left and he he made money he still has properties there but yeah that's where I was then I went to Montreal in I got into a family business and I managed Canada I sold products okay sold uh just Plastic Products other things and uh that was my business when I moved back here I got into a couple of different product businesses in product businesses Amazon if you sold products you ended up selling on Amazon so Amazon oil I was working with my brother got company in in St industry but big Amazon and one of the things that I was doing I decided to look into Vis m box in our Amazon business okay Amazon Amazon Amazon how do you make it big one of the things Amazon was just starting to roll out was ads like Google ads Amazon PPC payperclick advertising Amazon sponsored which which product is sponsored which is an ad and really that I really started studied something to learn it and to know it well [Music] and exactly now it's on you how say like what he said moment [Music] Enlightenment it opened up my eyes and I started working with things in the and when I saw that do the gold I started going to conferences you know the big speakers I went to a conference I remember the first conference in the back and their head of they did they did it was an Amazon conference with PPC they did they were an agency sorry an agency that manages your PPC manages your ads if you're Amazon Seller they manage your ads in the Indian because he's techy Indian he's their CTO the chief technology officer I'm doing this now for myself okay why don't you do it for me agency so I got a few clients I left my family and this business or whatever everything I was doing and PPC agency mostly with the with and with time I got bigger some International companies some big Brands and um that's what that's what I that's what I did that was my business PPC computer dashboard the description dashbo ball different ads and now they have off Amazon on Amazon okay so this is the the subject basically inste exactly you sell a pen there's a thousand other listings before you right 20 per page of page of page 100 to the top from page one that's what it is and it's the same like go so Amazon wants that M got you Amazon's go and say it's going to put it so this works this works on Google and everything else works the same way YouTube ads YouTube channel PPC of Amazon yeah so when the result right away okay that's boring everything is boring till now right exciting by the way it's your fault I don't woken up I wake up got very excited about being successful it took me a few years to find myself but mid-30s I really started understanding myself the first $500 because so that was uh that was my first and then no y back to the telegram group you were saying that you started posting yeah I started getting subject matter wasn't such moment million dollar yet started making money from myself my for my own work and then big Brands came I had some very big brands that I that I manag accounts that that did millions and millions of dollars so I was in business I was in business I started posting a telegram group because I had knowledge I wanted to share and then I went on LinkedIn it started about six years ago it started becoming less resume it exists for 18 years years ago 2003 so sorry sorry um sorry no not eight maybe 12 years that I'm that I was on there and a few years a buyer a seller a Salesman real estate Amazon pictures Cent deal clothes and I started getting a lot of attention and I started doing more and more and more I was the from the top two Amazon people probably to but and it wasn't so small but the content created Community the community was yeah was pretty small we all knew each other content creators but I started becoming really good at it and I would get and I had the perfect balance content creators a lot of them become they just Market themselves and then they have a business of marketing right so they're very good at marketing themselves videos you know I can I can do your marketing look how good I am I get 100,000 views a day so most content creators do something in marketing and I Did It For My Amazon vide cool very good but so then I started doing events events and I started creating my own events Amazon events Lin LinkedIn event one after the other one year after the other before that all the LinkedIn events in Milwaukee in Boston I got invited to LinkedIn when they when they launched their event feature they they started event featur them but they invited me to their party the the Empire State Building the worst party ever so this created Day event M link actual L actually event full linked support speaker premum memberships and business but a whole new a whole new uh zman perspective platform well that wasn't a PL it just gave me something new maybe a perspective as wow K events and I was really good at it I understood what brings people together and I understood how to make it productive he's a m actually business how do you take socially turn the business I used I used to hate on the social influencers look at me because you know what are you gonna do so uh L was International we had people from all over the world over a thousand people the day after I got banned because second time 15 okay you're used to this basically you're used to I'm still enrolled we got we got suspended and finally we got in touch with them they said we we we um use their trademark LinkedIn meetups they give they allow you they allow the four of us right now to make a LinkedIn Meetup and use their logo Global instead of LinkedIn LinkedIn Meetup LinkedIn Global so so someone there was no one to talk to already I think at that time they were bought out by Microsoft oh organizers is the is of the board from Apple a bunch of gr companies and it we got on a call with them committee events and instead of unbanning us they should make us the committee lawyers they put us back right away but and uh that was that okay in sorry no it wasn't a few months later it was it was Corona in in uh in in July post a video um Bill Gates it's been a video a viral video in 2015 pandemics pandemics are coming was on Ted it was a couple weeks later account uh what happened finally permanently banned permanently banned post the Bill Gates video what's what's the problem no it was there was a conspiracy there when Twitter in they all started Banning Facebook it's a little before even going ban far Trump I said if they ban me now they're they're banning everyone Z demos they banned already thousands of people big big big uh people with big networks toen to millions of followers banned so that's what happened right after that came as a a whole group of people that were supporting you I remember it was free Joel free Joel wall Palestine absolutely he was in LinkedIn jail and and I don't know how it was the only thing I saw over there on LinkedIn for for months but it didn't that suspended permanently anyways that's what happened to me it was a big shock I was getting six seven million views a month on my content I want to organize a start pink cup a year before I'm getting into the startup World a little bit I started a podcast and Tech Guys entrepreneurs CEOs fundraising I got started get Israeli startups I started getting interested in that I I said okay let's do a startup Meetup we did one in Miami we did one in in New York got access anything I wanted the next day I had it you know so this is l it didn't matter doesn't this is Microsoft that's it you did what 12 hours later I made a plan okay listen meetings podcast they got a little attention they go to a but they're the top of the industry Kai I'm going do the same thing come a Jewish influencer and a few days later and this I was planning for a few days out of bus followers 45 million followers social media yeah I didn't want to I wasn't on social media LinkedIn is made business was the more more kosher than anything else than any other social media probably the safest one um point is that I couldn't do that I couldn't go anywhere I said influen columns and I'm going to pick up customers that way market the market okay you the sh Market exactly so I mean by the way I have a I had a podcast three years ago you guys have [Music] crazy and all of a sudden was part of it no never and then one day so a couple couple days AG going by business this this is business advertising yeah yeah so that's that is is a tech genius computer engineer so we're thinking of different things I I said what if we what if we started our own platform LinkedIn LinkedIn is you know but start something not to give me uh not to give me back my 45 million views it's a joke they 45 million but but to just this is going to happen to a lot of people let's start a new let's start a new network mention and someone who I was talking to sends me a little build of a working platform to like to comments comment a little thing like a social media platform I said wow do off the-shelf software making C you pay $300 a month and you already have access can you can make your own social platform uhuh okay let's do it so dropped because at that moment I said I'm going to build a multi-billion dollar company and I'm I I don't need random partners because he showed me how to do this Partners hold on I go back to my my partner in my Amazon business who job his job was he came in two years later his job ladies in Lakewood and that's computers I'm going pull spreadsheets he told me you're crazy let's automate it it's a software designer engineer so so we're discussing let's do it first we we bought off the shelf we did that this like changed their platform and um wait list mentioned the first push excited supporters and hello hello what happened you were there no one of those one of the first oh okay yeah fine yeah you were number 33 no but point is it's gorgeous exactly number 33 but from from nobody to get nobody we popped something up a thousand people okay we had people on the platform already posting hello everybody you know my first my first post platform and we're we're building a much more unique platform s business focus and a lot of things happened to LinkedIn that they're very profit but as a platform for users for small business people like you me but then small business guys and we we we had a we had a idea had a vision to make it work better for small business professionals Davis for is a LinkedIn arbit it's a social platform for business so guys post post message mention guys on the messaging to organiz that group it's all focused these days most videos someone's dog drowned in India and line mention m is the doggy and they watching you see how many views millions of people are watching this video and they work they work at the biggest accounting the who who works where IWC y ya YW accounting firms they they all sitting and watching videos and and on the computer log for three hours on uh networking business productivity because they categorized yeah the software is categorized so okay so minut there's ads there's a lot of ads on link [Music] so LinkedIn the we developed a full scale platform with app there was to build a proper app cost millions of millions of dollars I started I became very friendly with parlor The Parlor CEO with s he came into the news Trump trump was going to come on to him and he tells me listen you want to start something it's already started you want to go somewhere it's going to cost you $5 million to build a app just to build the app to do what you want to do was like listen I'm Jewish I'm from Brooklyn it's going to cost me 500,000 it's not going to cost me 5 million and that's what happened so social business platform and our idea is not to have just a feed butc email text WhatsApp Zoom right everything should be on one platform guy here set a meeting pay for it right I have to pay pay processing you buy stuff plots to the people you work with and everything works together can organize an event you can you can organize your contacts into a CRM send them emails simplified bus use uh mostly using all kinds of software in the everyday business even small business professional small business professionals means anyone with a company with less than 500 employees so companies and they use MailChimp or or or or Constant Contact they use Fiverr upwork event Bri Zoho clickup tools so our idea is to build it all in one platform guys arw it's a business platform where you come on you do everything you need to do for your business in one place Al ex yet the main platform the community is there the messaging the groups the a lot of things are there andos the next thing is events CRM so you can organize a contact email marketing question fluence yeah this is a early beta beta mind buys I of buys usually right so usually with with with platforms with technology you start with officially art scr so you start bet and beta you start early early an early early tool you start with beta so we so we have so that those numbers are for your score valuable videos posted although it's part of the score but they mention how many people vouch for you the Redeeming the points it's kind of redeeming the points t-shirts hats different things you can do now and the future could be a currency can Services of the platform like the podcast okay all right no there something um there's something that that you have that LinkedIn doesn't have there categories yeah so one of the big problems of V is very simple instead of using tools bus and we make money transactions in the long run what's the categories categories one of the main issues is you come out LinkedIn div is connected and anyone you're connected with if they do an action you see their action unless you really really really know how to use it you unfollow half the people Insurance conversation or you're just curious to hear what people say about one subject one industry one subject so we have advanced filtering groups different groups each group has different capabilities so essentially you're not going into targeted filtered plots business sets my Monday morning mode for is not Amazon so you click Monday I can have a setting social is they they they hate it right they hate it or they love it right do he doesn't like it but I'll tell you so originally we made a the best design wasn't $5 was $10 I liked it it was a nice logo it was two chat symbols okay so we were operating with that logo for about a month and email attachment logo influence misspelled and there's a there's a package a beautiful I love the logo this logo M with entire branding package branding package a branding package right the water bottles V to employees the website on the app exactly fully like what is this someone Yi hello no I I'm following your journey I love what when you're a big guy you're famous and you're out there and you have everyone and famous he goes out the garbage say you go you know celebrity this and that that's why he says a lot of you know big has 700 700 sorry 700 million users billion in revenue and yeah okay just friends okay good uh So the plan is to build a really super big platform and in y of social media do under platforms two tools companies Uber do LIF this space number two I want to be the number two and take take the concept and expand it and make it a lot different So the plan big tech company right now non mention [Music] um we're not counting Yi meaning Yi contributes to the company a lot but he's not a fulltime employee fulltime employees and employees and all across the world in Tunisia and Algeria and we get bigger we hire bigger more high-profile people people that you know top designers top programers top Engineers you need thousands of employees to build something big scale you want to build something so big you need investors of course where do you go find these people do it and do it from podcast and viewers so investing is very interesting so the way it works is if M this has be broken up into three podcasts okay investing works like this you come up with idea you have to have something that's the bone box Mr bone and then you go and you go to your friends and family say listen to the market I want to go big friend family and you get a little money it's called the friends and family round FFF forever yeah fund fund fund fund friend family fund maybe I knew at some point and I forgot maybe I made it up could be friends family funding maybe FFF round and then you take that money so let's say you raised $100,000 typical about 100 we did the same thing because I ra a lot of money for I got involved in a few organizations see there's a case today there was a mother and Lakewood six kids stage four cancer I put on my status now right can how much am I gonna give I'll give a dollar to each one $5 but if I can use my network and this is part of you know My Philosophy with with networking and and bringing people together and I raise a lot of money of the books organizations got this quick pay stop mentioning the Edens in our beautiful Community amazing my point is that the same thing if you're going to build something big and you're going to need a billion dollars in funding it gets me nowhere so right away I said I'm gonna do this it's gonna take a lot of my time not because I don't believe in [Music] it I saw people when I saw people putting in money I said what you believe in me more than I believe in me he did his homework he watched I watched okay so so yeah so I raise friends and family around and then you go to seeds seed now you have to have a little bit more of a developed product you have to have users you have to have ready a few thousand seed seed seed that's the term for this the stage the second stage is some people call it preed seed and but then you start going out to more angal investors y Mo listen real estate idea right so at that point they already oh interesting let me put in a little money fake then you get you get Angel Investors say angel investors they're helping you out we started a seed crowd fund what's a crowd fun oh fun no the laws of raising money the rules is very complicated they you can't just raise money you have to you have to report everything accounting lawyers so they have certain tools that are made for people are trying to raise there's something called SPV special purpose vehicle mention each invest $10,000 you take $50,000 day company invest $50,000 to a crowd fund crowd fund is you have 100 200 300 people platforms platforms startup a startup B startup C this one's raising for a flying car this one's raising for organic makeup and you put in $100 $300 and then when you take the money it's one investor so we went crowdfund we went to our community M50 whatever from a few hundred people that was our preed and next is Seed where we're going to Angel Investors and we're also opening another crowd fund um and mm the next step is VCS which we already have lined up that hadn't since venture capitalist venture capitalist are the ones that are funding big companies like uber Airbnb uh Facebook kah kah okay that's how that's how then the series that's the series a series B series C Series investment investment a kitchen [Laughter] company the way it works the company the company m inves in you have to get the whole world you have to have offices in Singapore and in Japan and in Tel Aviv London Visa so even when the company's making money you're still pushing pushing money pushing marketing and you either sell the company Salesforce the company private company I get whatever a billion dollar you pay the investors you pay the investors back or you go public which is the route we want to take we do not want to be bought out no matter what we want to go public and when you go public as soon as it goes on the market all the share holders have a certain amount of shares in the company and they can sell shares print shares on N shares okay get worth less the way it works is the the first ones are worth less but they also get the most money on the back end meaning they invested $1,000 the company's worth 10 million now when it's worth a billion they make even even though they're $10,000 worth only $2,000 now because raises that 2,000 becomes a thousand times so they can make $2 million the early investors in the gr companies multi-millionaires mhm right we work right buing but someone made a lot of money in the wew work sale at the end but he was from an early investor and we work and when they were worth then they crashed but when they worth this technically million wow and he put in so Vis Vis invest let's say thousands of dollars right for company so it goes by every round so the risk got so right now we have we have we've built out very complicated architecture the the the platform alone is worth a lot of money now we can sell it to Trump's platform Trump's platform is terrible million right even though we only put in5 $600,000 like the effort and the because we buil we built something it's like you build a house that alone now new investors come and they already see s platform platforms to apps there mobile there's all these different things going on and okay ,000 okay next round they come and they say okay this you have 100,000 users you have you're growing every day by this number your engagement with v in you know off the platform which by the way for us is very high compared to other platforms V use active us active users so I mean we have about 15,000 a little bit more than 15,000 right now which is very very little right and our goal now for this year is to get to 100,000 but 100,000 toate comfortable so series A who we we already talking to Big investors you know they're they're waiting some more users some and so the risk goes down startups you can't put Uber if Uber was raising money invest in Uber if Uber is raising money you can't get in meaning they were raising money still probably a couple years ago conne a big businessman but you getting that Series E let's say like $56 million you're only getting two or three times because then it goes public risk we made but he has very small risk so he he knows the company's famous right it's worldwide it has millions of users like $50 million becomes 100 million mention mentioning every he already mentioned Trump we have Biden yeah what but uh um so UPS truck dri I have box in the back and the UPS D yeah at that moment invested in Amazon because reality yeah yeah okay wow at what point do you start making the money cuz you didn't invest the penny you said yeah once you once you start okay obviously I'm the biggest shareholder me and my partner equal right with money or with we own shares with money I'm saying how no you're you're the only so how does the founder of a company right so once you start raising millions of millions I mean hundred million dollars you see the big founders of big companies they take giant pay giant to paychecks MH you run a big company sometimes you're not the CEO sometimes you only have shares the CEO makes the money so are you at the point where every and your investors are in charge once you're that big your investors are in charge they tell you I want to know you're at the point what point are you in we're at a very little point is making money yet though no we're not monetizing yet the minute you start monetizing your you want you put ads on right mhm first of all that's that's the way everyone monetized on a platform ads you kill the whole experience if you're coming from another platform okay so you have to do something so in our case we can monetize a lot so typically you can monetize only once you have like WhatsApp a billion users they're starting now they if they if they put in ads you wouldn't be using it so they had one goal users use this is the only goal you have as a platform we are social and SAS SAS is a software as a service this is a tool as tro like clickup like Zoho like anything else that you use QuickBooks quick books are sass you pay $50 a month subscription and so so we can do this a little earlier so we plan within on 20 in yeah g products and we're going to charge for certain use you don't have to you don't have to use it you can use the free version but at that point we start monetizing but when you when you're building a serious company a serious tech tech platform you you have to think of your burn rate I burn rate might yeah yeah so your burn rate your your budget your monthly budget has to be at minimum1 $200,000 a month minimum and even when you start monetizing grer companies you know a million a month you're talking if you're doing a million a month you already valued already 100 million now stock market invest Market and already those crazy valuations are coming down but typically once a platform starts monetizing income the company has look at the scale but they have to see they look at how you going to scale they look at the lines they look at the users and they see your vision and they okayest work what real EST next episode okay was Raising for startups was busy building Tech startups um and in Amazon space bunch was bow startups was maybe it won't go to a billion but you're talking about real businesses so people are starting to invest people are starting to group a and it's startups ideas fundraising till the end what secures you number one I'm going for myself and I'm going to do the same idea number two the second question is and brainstorm the zela idea they should up that's a very good question really it applies to every business B real entrepreneurs this real the real deal people Visionaries that build real businesses never ever care about competition you only care about competition enough to know I'm going to do it better event I'm good friends with them asgtg Ed Rosenberg it's an amazing show every year this is the eighth year launched an event Amazon event let and we are now building our next event it's going to be the biggest Amazon event that that's ever been ever existed why competion this this is you if you have an idea follow it all the way till the end didn't we did an event purely big event we got speakers we got exhibits okay and 3 years later he calls me I hear you're trying to do another event I also wanted to do another and he said I don't know see I said listen you want to join me so he says I already have sponsors that want to they they had a good business event it was a good event they want to come back and and spend money I said let's go said okay can we do M for hope I said sure no problem so we built our first event the he's a little bit like me likes to have fun but he has very different skill sets salesman I want you to I want you to be a $100,000 sponsor no why it's too much why and he fundraises the same way also and he's fantastic as M he sees the money and he goes after it ambitious very ambitious that's his thing very simple guy but he's got also very different skills salesman he's a good salesman so the three of us got together event in Lakewood smashing success we did an event in Florida thousand people 70 booths speech 16 speeches every 30 minutes on the d a speech music parties DJ hooka bars m cigars M steaks there a full-fledged event and we were in business and we we we did another event and now we're planning even bigger event in Florida but also shim three partners that each one has a different completely different role and from there two months ago we started another business we helped Amazon sellers but industry Amazon sellers you heard about this aggregators flippers in companies AMZ flippers million like and they buy your company and they buy 100 200 companies and they raised billions and billions of dollars billions and billions one company raised 5.6 billion last year they poured in money but so we said the transaction so we started a company for that oh question so before our the meantime we started getting calls we're backing out we're backing out we are sad to announce that we're firing Mac suspending Mac this is we condemned this was no sensitivity sorry we had we let him go we had an event 5 days later which we spent half a million dollars on and this one's backing out that one's backing out so this at least helped us that we said listen fire it in the meantime they got it in the back but said ma is fully apart from the business and and that's what happened and yet to for next show [Laughter] jobs soons of on business and but the business it doesn't work the same way so they they have to reevaluate so a lot of them are falling apart get in some their problem but responses we didn't want to show them the most we didn't want to show them we put them out we com so I I started I started really faking first for people and then it becomes real you start caring what people say and you start so these days I take feedback very well but it took me many years to take feedback well is there a way to get into that space like someone throws something at you as our feedback as our criticism mhm you have to have some fails I had some plenty of fails in my life and it automatically humbles you yeah and you start you change you start seeing things new and I think when you do that Dimension because and and you can build better things you can do better better always go back to um few things call most people spend entire lives you don't know who you are if you don't know who you are you can't live a productive life in my parents were wonderful parents they he came back he worked on his business business and he went back and picked us up and he worked back in his business but business that's it the old oldfashioned business people they didn't care about nothing buing today we're learning that if you put yourself into something you're passionate about and mention was no one ever told them travel agency whatever he made him his name they came to Bungalow and they came and pulled him out of his Bungalow literally he was so nervous but travel agency the music store point is that you need to know if you don't know if you're out there and you're watching this and you don't know what your talent ask people and lean into that all the way yeah okay so that's that's one big lesson the other thing is if you really want to build something big that's the kicking of scale but that's where I'm going and every step I'm taking right now is a brick that I'm building friends family that like but this is a philosophy this is I'm not uh I'm not anyone I'm not here to teach anyone anything this is My Philosophy that when I take an action today I'm only going to take this action if I know this action can be multiplied toen [Music] to same thing with the platform I'm building a platform every step I take is with the idea that there going to be millions of people doing this action so you have to build for scale that's it if you want to
