you have to have some fails i had some
plenty of fails in my life i voted for
the new one
at that moment i said i'm gonna build a
multi-billion dollar company
i felt immediately everything dropped
[Music]
was never clear the agents and she
experienced
khan blouse experience i cannot secure
in that contract
you think of a house
think heimlo and if you want to know a
little more we actually interviewed him
on the podcast a couple episodes back
check it out support in the podcast
video besides support comments
3000 subscribers
anyone will support in the podcast the
cause
come and support another support comment
and and i'm appreciating the donation
yeah it's happening on the episode in
tamil
wall
and um it's not so interesting it's not
so
i find introductions and podcasts are
very boring
for the next
that's my background and i lived in i
lived in canada and then i moved back
here
we're going to brooklyn seagate
seagate
i didn't want to be an entrepreneur you
know a lot of entrepreneurs they say oh
since i'm 10 i was selling lemonade
[Music]
um
i moved to canada so i got the
opportunity to cancel buffalo new york
back then
buffalo
so i had an opportunity to go there
family i had family that was investing
okay
and i drove in every day
i drove it i managed real estate
i know you you sold me a house in
buffalo
20 years ago and how there's a leak
yeah
he kept his real estate
we left
he made money he still has properties
there but uh yeah that's where i was
then i went to montreal
and
i got into a family business and i
managed canada
i sold products
okay sold uh just
plastic products other things
and that was my business
when i moved back here i got into a
couple of different product businesses
in bed
amazon if you sold products you ended up
selling on amazon
so
on amazon
i was working with my brother i got the
company with
in in the
stomachs industry but big amazon
and one of the things that i was doing i
decided to look into visa mckenna vox
and amazon business okay amazon amazon
amazon how do you make it big
one of the things amazon was just
starting to roll out was ads like google
ads
with amazon ppc pay-per-click
advertising guys through amazon sixth
product that's the
[Music]
that i really started to study something
to learn it and to know it well
[Music]
exactly
[Music]
it opened up my eyes and i started
working with things
in the numbers
and when i saw that
aha
do look dappers do the gold
and i started going to conferences
you know the big speakers
i went to a conference i remember the
first conference coming
out of and i see them in the back
stein
and
they're ahead of they did they did there
was an amazon conference with ppc
they did they were an agency sorry it's
an agency that manages your ppc manages
your ads if you're an amazon seller they
manage your ads
and jose the indian dating because he's
tacky indian he's their cto the chief
technology officer
i'm doing this now for myself
okay why don't you do it for me
agency so i got a few clients i left my
family in this business or whatever
everything i was doing
in hong kong ppc agency
mostly with the high misha with the
muhammad sheila and with time i got
bigger
some international companies some big
brands
and um
that's what that's what i that's what i
did that was my business
mind ppc
black pen black pen
multi-pack immediate meta metaclip
fatherless
so then i go i write these few words
do you guys
look i'm ready to pay 50 cents every
time someone clicks that's question the
click the likes on the vote black pen
they skimped it off as an ad
you click on it i pay
close
if you scroll down another four products
you'll see the product again exactly so
that's that's pay-per-click advertising
which means i and then we came up with
the data advisor best of this year's
next time this
is anyways
so
uh second to avoid this uh and then
there's all kinds of different ads and
now they have off amazon i don't know
this is the the subject basically in
steadfast
there's a thousand other listings before
you
right twenty per page device of page one
of page one hundred that came into the
top from page one within these extra
panda guys in the pages there was kind
of the page that's what it is and it's
the same like google kim stones
so this works this works on google and
everything else works the same way
youtube ads
right away
that's boring
everything is boring till now right
exciting by the way no it's your fault
i don't even know what i'm doing and
this is your vitamin okay what happened
something very interesting happened i
think
i learned from it maybe other people can
learn from it
would you like
no okay 1.50 okay
so
i never sold myself i never told people
[Music]
just working working working so but ken
mazman
i care about your money
how can manage millions and millions not
at the beginning but as i went on i was
managing millions and millions of
dollars
to spend
i saved you a hundred thousand dollars
the first month you saved and spent i
guess spent time that was not already
i came out i saved them a hundred
thousand dollars so big numbers
and i was i was able to
explain to people i care about imani
this is this is
my business so
everything that i in english i can
explain it better maybe but everything
that i everything about me my dedication
my drive my passion
for the first time
in canada
with a supermarket distributor
they put into hundreds of supermarkets
across canada one of my products
and from city committees the next year
for the next season we got the meeting
on the presentation
the the product line was got kim in
pricing packing
everything
soft meeting these were these were very
successful guys i mean
finally successful going come on
i got china
golfing on sundays
these days especially but back then
what am i saying
nothing to do with that i just
i have a business selling junk was i was
supposed to listen you know
so
i said then to this and that
i felt immediately everything dropped
they didn't order for me
that was it
when i started selling my services
how important it is
and uh that was my
post
i'm engaged in other groups
so it's a telegram group so far
telegram group
h
early early 30s okay early 30s is when i
got really excited before amazon but
once i had excited making life i got
very into
i got woken up
i thought i wake up
i was very excited about
being successful it took me a few years
to find myself but
mid 30s i really started
uh understanding myself
this is
back to the telegram group you were
saying that you started posting yeah i
started getting oh you can't a subject
matter
it wasn't such an aha moment with a
million dollars yet i started making
money from myself my for my own work
and then
big brands came
i had some very big brands that i that i
managed and
see the
accounts that did millions and millions
of dollars
so
i was in business i was in business i
started posting a telegram group because
i had knowledge i wanted to share and
then i went on linkedin it started about
six years ago
it started becoming less
a resume
so sorry sorry
um sorry no not maybe 12 years that i'm
that i was on there and a few years ago
a buyer a seller a salesman
a message
social
media
[Music]
and i started getting a lot of attention
and i started doing more and more and
more important
i was the from the top two
amazon people probably questions
it's linked to the client community
and it wasn't so small but the content
created community the community
yeah it was pretty small yeah we all
knew each other
and creators but i started becoming
really good at it
i would get and i had the perfect
balance content creators
a lot of them become they just market
themselves and then they have a business
of marketing
right yeah so they're very good at
marketing themselves number videos are
going
look how good i am i get a hundred
thousand views a day so most content
creators do something in marketing
and i did it for my amazon
so then i started doing events i'm going
to buy events
and
i started creating my own events
amazon events
linkedin
linkedin event that's why
one after the other one year after the
other
before that all the linkedin events
inclined them
in milwaukee other in boston
i got invited to linkedin when they when
they launched their event feature
they started event features so let's
avoid them but
they invited me to their parties he went
in the
empire state building
still the worst party ever
so this created day event
linkedin
actually yeah so actually
in the ish event i'm had full linkedin
support from
speakers
perspective
platform well that wasn't applied it
just gave me something new maybe a
perspective as wow like events and i was
really good at it
i understood what brings people together
and i understood how to make it
productive is it
actually
business how do you take socially and
turn it into business
i used to hate on the social influencers
uh look at me
because tactless you know tactless what
are you gonna do so uh
that's fighter linkedin
it was international we had people from
all over the world over a thousand
people the day after i got banned
is
we got in touch with them
they said we we we um use their
trademark
and come the linkedin meetups
they give they allow you they allow the
four of us right now to make a link to
meet up and use their logo
oh
i think at that time they were bought
out by microsoft oh my god
organizers
is of the is of the board from uh
apple for a bunch of grocery companies
i eat
a high
committee mugging up behind lawyers but
kids they put us back right away but
they've got that ban of mountains of man
a tag band
and uh that was that
okay in
a production
it wasn't a few months later was it was
corona
in in uh
in in july
a big post a video fin um bill gates
it's been a video a viral video in 2015
i think i think it had been pandemics so
pandemics are coming
on paranoids
it was on ted it was a couple weeks
later
what's the problem
no it was uh there was a conspiracy
there
basically
when twitter ins they all started
banning facebook
it's a little before even
farmer and trump
they're banning everyone zad demos they
banned already thousands of people big
big big uh people with big
networks toes into millions of followers
banned that over gangnam
so
that's what happened
right after that came as a whole group
of people that were supporting you yes
yeah free draw wall yeah free palestine
absolutely he was in linkedin jail and
and
i don't know how it was the only thing i
saw
over there on linkedin for her for
months
but it didn't that suspended permanently
anyways that's what happened
to me it was a big shock i was getting
six seven million views a month on my
content i became in with the leads roger
vault
i wanted to organize a starter a a pink
surrounding cup a year before i'm
getting into the startup world a little
bit i started a podcast
and
with
tech guys with entrepreneurs migration
ceos
fundraising i got started israeli
startups i started getting interested in
that i i said okay let's do a startup
meetup
we did one of miami we did one in in new
york i got access anything i wanted us
the next day i had it you know so this
is
a shock
my guns
this is microsoft
that's it you did what 12 hours later i
made a plan
meetings
with
they got a little attention they go to a
paisa hotel but they're the top of the
industry yadid kansai
i'm going to do the same thing
i'll become a jewish influencer
and
a few days later and this i was planning
for a few days
about the one out of business
follow us
yeah i didn't want to i wasn't on social
media linkedin is green
made business it was the more more
kosher than anything else than any other
social media probably the safest one yet
is china i'm still waiting in my unless
it's for you
by the way i have a i had a podcast
three years ago it's about kim and
listeners
you guys have crazy advice fellas thanks
[Music]
and then one day so a couple
couple days are going by have a business
hashem this instagram business
advertising yeah
so
that's that is a tech genius computer
engineer
so we're thinking of different things
i said
what if we what if we started our own
platform it should be linked in when
linkedin is you know but let me start
something
not to give me
uh
not to give me back my 45 million views
it's a joke they're 45 million
but
but to just
i this is gonna happen a lot of people
let's start a new let's start a new
network
and
someone who i was talking to sends me a
little build
of a working
platform
let's do like let's do comments i can
comment look at a little thing
like a social media platform i said wow
let's do off-the-shelf software we can
confidently pay 300 a month and you
already have access you can make your
own social platform aha okay let's do it
so
you dropped
it because at that moment i said i'm
gonna build a multi-billion dollar
company and i'm i i don't need random
partners because he showed me how to do
this
can i mention partners hold on i go back
to my
my partner in my amazon business
who his job his job was he came in two
years later his job
agent to automate and aleman arabic he
forgot the
computers and we pulled spreadsheets
he told me you're crazy
let's automate it kid's a
software designer engineer
connections
[Music]
mentioned the first push now i'm excited
it was you know supporters
and uh
hello hello
what happened you were there no i'm one
of those one of the first oh okay yeah
fine
yeah you were number 33.
english no but point is
sweet
hello
to get nobody when we pop something up a
thousand people okay
we had people on the platform already
posting
hello everybody you know my first my
first post
picket
and we're we're building
a much more unique platform
business focus
and
a lot of things happen to linkedin
but hashem that
they're very profitable
but as a platform for users for small
business people like you me
but then small business guys
and we we we had a
we had idea we had a vision to make it
work better for small business
professionals davis for style is a
linkedin arbit
it's a social platform for business so
guys that of dartmouth post
these days mostly videos
you see how many views millions of
people are watching this video and they
work
they work at the biggest accounting
who works where iwc
uh y y a yw
grester accounting firms they they're
all sitting and watching videos and and
on the
computer large site
for three hours on uh networking
business productivity
because i categorize yeah the software
is categorized okay so a minute
there's ads a lot of ads on linkedin
[Music]
we developed a full scale platform with
an app there was vice numbers from the
to build a proper app cost millions and
millions of dollars
i started i became very friendly with uh
parlor the parlor ceo was
he came into the news about marozzi
from trump trump was going to come on to
him
and he tells me listen you want to start
something it's already started but you
want to go somewhere it's going to cost
you five million dollars to build the
app just to build the app to do what you
want to do
i was like listen i'm jewish i'm from
brooklyn it's gonna cost me five hundred
thousand it's not gonna cost me five
million and that's what happened
social business platform and our idea is
not to have just feed but
the business
email text whatsapp
zoom right
everything should be on one platform
guy here set a meeting pay for it
right i have to pay
you pay processing you buy stuff with my
kansas plots to the people you
work with and everything works together
against organizing event
you can you can
organize your contacts into a crm send
them emails simplified
the oil and business coverage watching
bison you use
mostly using all kinds of software in
the everyday business even small
business professionals small business
professionals means anyone with a
company with less than five hundred
employees so that's
the companies
and they use mailchimp or or or uh
constant contact they use fiverr or
upwork and it's in eventbrite and it's
in zoho click up i don't mean the tools
so our idea is to build it all in one
platform so the guys though of albertan
arbit and they was incentivized by
points
supposed to
it's a business platform where you come
on you do everything you need to do for
your business in one place this is
showing yes
the main platform the community is there
the messaging the groups the a lot of
things are there and usborne the next
thing is events crm so you can organize
your contacts email marketing
question from this fluence let's do a
number let me get the number uh yeah
icon versus this is the early the beta
beta mind buys i love buys usually
right so usually with with with
platforms with technology you start with
officially alpha watch
you start early early an early early
tool you start with beta so we so we
have so that day those numbers are for
your score be valuable bisti and they
saw this rifle videos as you posted all
those part of the score but they score
gataranga in the full transactions of
stigma
tools dignity
how many people vouch for you you don't
get the redeeming the points it's kind
of redeeming the points
t-shirts
different things you can do now and the
future could be a currency you can just
listen to tooling services of the
platform
um
[Laughter]
yeah so one of the big problems of
visiting smackdown is very simple you're
the two with the nets there's a custom
channel these guys aren't free this is
not 15 and it's alas albertson so
instead of using 50 tools logins
it's iron tool then it's for our
business and we make money
transactions the highest amount of tools
yeah in the long run
the the the fiddler wait
one of the main issues is you come on
linkedin db is connected and anyone
you're connected with
if they do an action you see their
actions
unless you really really really know how
to use it you know unfollow half the
people
or you're just curious to hear what
people say about one subject
one industry one subject so we have
advanced filtering types home with
groups different groups each group has
different capabilities
so
essentially
you're not going into achievement
targeted filtered clouds which is
business indication settings
my monday morning mode
for me is not amazon
so you have to click monday
i can have a setting social
i'll tell you so originally we made a
logo i'm going on fiverr ahead of him
from designers although he's not the
best designer
it wasn't five dollars it was ten
dollars
i liked it it was a nice logo
it was two chat symbols sigma b okay
so
we were operating with that logo for
about a month
with attachments
logo
and
there's a there's a package
the beautiful
i love the logo this logo
with the entire branding package
sometimes
branding package device a brand new
package mine all right
the water bottles visa those employees
the website on the app do the actual
zagatos in exactly fully
i'm like what is this
someone yasi
no i i'm following your journey i love
what you're doing i'm uh just getting
into design
when can i meet you
um
and by the way this we spoke about this
uh the fact of someone going and taking
initiative the same step is
being connected to what the big you want
to get connected to elon musk right
i can see it but he's the only only
successful person ever to come out of
seagate elon musk
and um we we started we started the um
we started using his thing we actually
brought him in on certain shares but the
point is they given him an initiative
he took a step he didn't wait
as a 17 year old
email
a real genius yeah
represent eggman it's a plumbing
platform
the mock-ups the alice v cancers
implement
of the cat right the shirts of alice and
when does this gaze again like this is
from our brand although it was going
like this is yogurt
it's amazing i loved it
i thought it was perfect i thought it
was i thought it was perfect like
anecdote vision and it's just that
exactly reality exactly well
and
just and i put wait listen to this
i had people posted on this then
on linkedin
a and b my old logo which was something
very typical
and
and and this
said the old one 99
said the old one yeah
i voted for the new one really
only graphic designers
voted for the new one we think i like
and
vision you go for it you don't think
about what anyone says this is amazing
99 99
said
they said hey your old logo was it
kit doesn't give us
no it's because i know what
if i want to go there i have to build
something for there right even though
that was
at least that's what he said 99 of
people
lying out of steve jobs quotes and this
is called this is account rabbi why why
[Music]
he said when you're
a big guy or you're famous
and you're out there and you have
everyone
famous
and famous
garbage so as you go you know celebrity
this and that
guy heim
that's why he says a lot of you know
this big celebrities kicks i wonder they
have no family
so but
these visas
steve jobs
he stole the phone the iphone was not
his says emma stuck in a vein but air
given a visionary yeah
technology disagreements
of development
in the touchscreen product and taking a
vein of the
touchscreen with advert of the screen of
the display so it's against that
separate themes and it's actuated
something like the of the iphone so
even though it is
foreign
the vision is to have a platform
linkedin today has 700 700 sorry 700
million users
15 billion dollar
in revenue
and
yeah
friend okay
okay
so the plan is to build a really super
big platform and
and yeah this video social media do for
sheet under the platforms two tools
companies uber do lift
this space in
number two
and while i want to be the number two
and take take the concept and expand it
and make it a lot different
so the plan with this is
a big company a big tech company
inside
[Music]
contributes to the company a lot but
he's not a full-time employee from
full-time employees and so i'm an
employee as a rule
and uh all across the world in uh
tunisia and algeria and imagine we get
bigger we hire
bigger more high profile people people
that you know top designers top
programmers top engineers you need
thousands of employees to build
something big
brother from big scale
client company okay so you want to build
something so big you need investors of
course where do you go find these people
and do it and do it for podcast
viewers so investing is very interesting
so the way it works is when this has to
be broken up into three podcasts okay
investing works like this you come up
with idea you have to have something
that's the bone after that client box mr
bone episode's the team and then you go
and you go to your friends and family
you say listen
it's called the friends and family round
fff as i started
whatever yeah fund fun fund fund friend
family fund
maybe i know at some point i forgot
maybe i made it up could be friends
family funding maybe
sorry fff round and then you take that
money so let's say you raised a hundred
thousand dollars typical about a hundred
we did the same thing
penny
see there's a case today there was a
mother and lakewood six kids stage four
cancer
voice costumes
right
how much am i going to give i'll give a
dollar to each one five dollars
but if i can use my network and this is
part of you know my philosophy with with
networking and bringing people together
and i raise a lot of money
off the books i finished that
organization
stop mentioning the edens in our
beautiful community making celta amazing
my point is that
the same thing if you're going to build
something big and you're going to need a
billion dollars in funding
it gets me nowhere so right away i said
i'm going to do this it's going to take
a lot of my time it can get like
not because i don't believe in it
emotional
[Music]
so yeah so i raised friends and family
around and then you go to seeds see now
you have to have a little bit more of a
developed product you have to have users
you have to have already a few thousand
seats
that's the term for this this stage the
second stage is
some people call it precede farseed
and but then once you start going out to
more angel investors
uncle goldberg
hey listen
real estate idea like
right so at that point they already are
is interesting let me put in a little
money
fake name
then used to get you get angel investors
heist is angel investors someone they're
helping you out we started a seed
crowd fund oh what's a crowdfund
fund
the laws of raising money the rules is
very complicated they can you can't just
raise money
you have to you have to report
everything accounting lawyers
so they have certain tools that are made
for people are trying to raise there's
something called the spv
special purpose vehicle fin of
mentioning numbers of salmon they each
invest ten thousand dollars you take
fifty thousand dollars a day company
invest fifty thousand dollars
don't do a crowd fund crowdfunders you
have a hundred two hundred three hundred
people on a
hundreds of platforms conserve gain
startup a startup b startup c this one's
raising for a flying car this one's
raising for organic rice with makeup
and you put in a hundred dollars three
hundred dollars and then when you take
the money it's one investor so we went
crowdfund we went to our community but
grace doesn't fit 150 000 or whatever
from a few hundred people
that was our precede next is
seeds where we're going
to angel investors and we're also
opening another crowdfund
um
and that's hashem the next step is vcs
which we already have lined up with that
and since venture capitalists venture
capitals are the ones that are funding
big companies like uber airbnb
[Music]
is
m
you have to get the whole world you have
to have offices in singapore and in
japan and in tel aviv london visa
so even when the company is making money
you're still
pushing pushing money pushing marketing
and you either sell the company
uh salesforce otherwise
must cover the company private company i
get whatever
which is the route we want to take we do
not want to be bought out no matter what
we want to go public and when you go
public as soon as it goes on the market
all the shareholders have a certain
amount of shares in the company they can
sell bible shares
with print shares all nice okay
the way it works is this one the the
first ones are worth less but they also
get the most money on the back end
meaning they invested a thousand dollars
the company's worth 10 million now
when it's worth a billion they make even
even though they're ten thousand dollars
worth only two thousand dollars now
because what they can imagine infinity
raises that 2000 becomes a thousand
times
so they can make two million dollars the
early investors in the grocery companies
are multi-millionaires
right
and wework right
nish moishi
a lot of money in the wework sale at the
end when it's google and doing it
but it he was from an early investor and
we work and when they were worth
then they crashed but when they were
this
technically voltage
[Music]
so it goes by every round so the risk i
got
we've built out very complicated
architecture the the the platform alone
is worth a lot of money now we can sell
it to
trump's platform trans platform is
terrible mechanical coil from their
platform he has four million dollar
right right even though we only put in
five six hundred thousand dollars but i
like the effort and the
because
we built something right it's like you
build a house is that that alone now
new investors come in they already see
us do our platform so maybe i'll climb
the box against this against the
platforms do apps there's mobile there's
all these different things going on
and
ok
next round they come and they say okay
this is you have a hundred thousand
users you have you're growing every day
by this number
your engagement with visa manipulate is
it's in in you know of the platform
which by the way for us is very high
compared to other platforms viewfield
user active users active users so i mean
we have about fifteen thousand
a little bit more than fifteen thousand
right now which is very very little
right
and our goal now for this year is to get
to a hundred thousand a hundred thousand
investors comfortable right so series a
little emotional who we thought were
already talking to big investors you
know they're they're waiting
uh some more users some
and so the risk goes down
in manhattan was
raising money you can't get in
they were raising money still probably a
couple years ago
big businessman
but you get it at series e let's say
likes that are 56 million dollar
you're only getting two or three times
because then it goes public
risk v major but he has a very small
risk so you help he knows the company's
famous rate it's worldwide it has
millions of users like 150 million
dollars it becomes 100 million
off the backs like a freak like what's
that
i have uh
how about pull boxes in the back
of my truck
wow at what point do you start making
the money because you didn't invest the
penny you said yeah once you once you
start okay obviously i'm the biggest
shareholder me and my partner equal
right with money or with
we own shares obsessed with money i'm
saying i had it no you're the so
right so once you start raising millions
and millions i mean 100 million dollars
you see the big founders are big
companies they take giant pay
giant to paychecks you run a big company
sometimes you're not the ceo sometimes
you only have shares the ceo makes the
money so that's obviously guys are you
at the point where everybody has been
and your investors are in charge once
you're that big your investors are in
charge right they tell you you want to
know you're at the point what point are
you in there we're at a very little
point
business is making money yet though no
we're not monetizing yet the minute you
start monetizing you're
in public
you want to put ads on right
first of all
that's that's the way everyone monetize
on on a platform ads
you kill the whole experience if you're
coming from another platform kim's to
hit okay knock ads push the seat
so you have to do something unique so in
our case we can monetize a lot so
typically you can monetize
only once you have like whatsapp
a billion users users
yes
we got like this business
they're starting now
if they if they put an ads you wouldn't
be using it so they had one goal users
use this is the only goal you have as a
platform
we are social and sas sas is a software
as a service this is a tool
trello like click up like zoho like
anything else that you use
quickbooks quickbooks is a sass you pay
50 a month subscription
and
so we can do this a little earlier so we
plan within on 20 in 2022
you know
yeah
products and we're going to charge for
certain use you don't have to you don't
have to use it you can use the free
version but at that point we start
monetizing but
when you when you're building a serious
company a serious tech tech platform
you have to think of your burn rate
twice a burn rate might yeah yeah so
your burn rate will be
your your budget your monthly budget has
to be
at minimum a hundred two hundred
thousand dollars a month minimum
and even when you start monetizing
grocery companies making
a million a month you're talking if
you're doing a million a month you're
already valued already a hundred million
now yesterday to the stock market
council anderson's investor market
rickshawn and already those crazy
evaluations are coming down
but typically
once a platform starts monetizing
but they have to see they look at how
you're going to scale they look at the
lines they look at the users and they
see your vision and they they say okay
they manage
[Music]
was raising guilt for startups
was then busy building tech startups
um
and stu grad in the amazon space
a bunch of citizens was bowen startups
was
maybe it won't go to a billion but
you're talking about real businesses so
people are starting to invest people are
starting to invest and i group a bunch
of siddhis
and it's
a startups
what secures you
number one as the of kathmandu
i'm going for myself and i'm gonna do
the same idea
number two the second question is emoji
milstein's okay
that's a very good question really it
applies to every business
debate some
real entrepreneurs there's
real the real deal people visionaries
that build real businesses never ever
care about competition
you only care about competition enough
to know that i'm going to do it better
eat me at him for an event yeah
the grester high mission amazon event
i'm good friends with them
asgtg
ed rosenberg it's an amazing show every
year this is the eighth year
if i launched an event amazon event
let's do it
and we are now
building our next event it's going to be
the biggest amazon event that that's
ever been ever existed
why
while
it is this is a competition this is uh
this is
you if you have an idea there's a vague
follow it all the way till the end and
that's it there's there's no
so the guy stuff on the highway and
there's no exits okay it's that electric
car you have to stop
[Music]
exactly
and which means typically it's a mistake
my whole life i made this mistake when
you you
have something
in some get the vibes get the jokes
right
and we got
business right actually i'm in business
it's the worst idea in the world because
can't call in the skill sets then the
zelda it's going to buy the machine
jokes and then buy the creative
but you kind of program in the cancer's
program so now we have to hire now we
have to pay
when you hire when you go with a to
go with someone who has a complete
hello goonish dumb family nicholas
nothing is the same just take the
opposite absolute skill set opposite
personality the mushroom of a vendor
right
i have a partner of two partners
questions from the upcoming guest
why mac left power oh so let me sit
against the from a second
a real estate event in his backyard out
outdoors
shane i saw that i said i told him let's
do a little amazon event
as a barbecue tom service style
okay let's do it
live
who three years ago he called me said
hello this is joel yeah
uh you do you're busy with amazon events
you speak at events yeah can you help me
i want to make an event for hope
organization
[Music]
they raise money for one-time needs in
the family i thought this is a sick
accident jail whatever support the
family if there's a one time zach
so they want to do an amazon event
amazon event
business trade show
okay
and
three years later he calls me i hear you
trying to do another event
i also wanted to do another hope events
and he said i don't know see i said
listen
event you want to join me
she says i already have sponsors
that want to they they had a good
business event it was a good event they
want to come back and and spend money
i said let's go i said okay can we do it
massive for hope i said sure no problem
so we built uh our first event the
grands appointment
is
a man industry citizen
he's a little bit like me he likes to
have fun
but he has very different skill sets
i want you to i want you to be a hundred
thousand dollar sponsor
no why it's too much why
and he fundraises the same way also
and he's fantastic
he sees the money and he goes after it
he's ambitious very ambitious
but he's got also very different skills
he's a salesman
he's a good salesman
so the three of us got together
event in liquid
smashing
success
we did an event in florida a thousand
people
70 booths ah speeches 16 speeches every
30 minutes on the dot even a speech
music parties
dj
hookah bars with cigars mistakes there's
a full fledged event
and we were in business and we we did
another event and now we're planning
even bigger event in florida
but also from three partners
that each one has a different completely
different role
and from there two months ago we started
another business we helped amazon
sellers with one of our coins in the
businesses
industry amazon sellers
you heard about this aggregators
slippers
into companies amazing flippers okay
from aggregators aggregators
[Laughter]
and they buy your company and they buy
100 200 companies and they raised
billions and billions of dollars other
trump billions and billions
one company raised 5.6 billion dollars
last year
when the supporters needed
i don't
they pour their
but so we said it was bringing that's
our show and bringing this out of the
health of the transaction so we started
a company for that
question
before our last event which we made a
special event
it was called the aggregator show
and segment for their companies they
billion dollar companies with kim and
coiffin com but kim and koi from sellers
into museums
550 amazon
indians people from all over
and we got introducing
a show meeting spaces lounges breakfast
lunch speeches entertainment my guide
from the sharks
in mac is quite called first year dish
so
english
he's a writer also and he spends a lot
of time and empty as i thought
and he ate the post wasn't smacking for
the event usually some formats came to
rose
you know
proud to announce
you know and so down the description
because then this goes this goes on what
i'll put it up on the screen after
whatever okay and this goes on on to
post the machine up this sponsor usually
is a format
decided
came out the wrong way in politics but
he didn't mean it
but it was the wrong timing it's again
by the russia war and seeking reps are
post
as a left field
this exam
cd flat viral
this it went on the reddit
the device was read it
went on to every platform in the world
millions and millions and millions of
you sigma plus a certain
sat from the
it was the wrong post and it is
and it was attached to the business it
said
pow wow
we were
[Music]
we are sad to announce that we're firing
mac suspending mac
this is we condemned this
was no sensitivity
sorry
we had we let them go we had an event
five days later which we spent
half a million dollars on and say
this one's backing up that one's backing
out so this at least helped us that we
said listen
fired
apart from the business and
and that's what happened
and yet
for the next show
uh
so
is
but the business it doesn't work the
same way
so they have to re-evaluate so a lot of
them are falling apart the kids in some
challenges their problem but
finds out the responses we didn't want
to show them they're mostly go if we
didn't want to show the ah we put them
out we're taking them right back
next event
and that's it yeah so they are
kind of logical situation we had to do
what we had to do that was a packed
question
what
who told you this
is
[Music]
he doesn't care about anything he just
wants to take care of them stay in
yeshiva have a good time lean dry minute
and that's it
so i helped out but
nothing in catskills and i was
wrong with the boys here and there
so a couple of uh
days a week i helped out about
six years ago or so wow and you got a
title
yeah
[Music]
but
how do you handle feedback
feedback i love feedback i used to hate
feedback because i used to think i'm
smarter than anyone else which is why i
didn't accomplish anything in my life
in healthcare
so i was never very good in accepting
feedback or the new ideas
and these days
especially with a platform that it's
about everyone that's not about me if
post
videos and pictures
of people say hey why don't you post any
more videos
so i started i started really
faking first
for people and then it becomes real you
start hearing what people say and you
start
idea
so these days i take feedback very well
but it took me many years to take
feedback well is there a way to get into
that space
like someone throw something at you as a
feedback criticism
you have to have some fails i had plenty
of fails in my life
and it automatically humbles you there
is always couples
[Music]
and
you start you change you start seeing
things new
and i think when you do that can step
back the position helps another
dimension because devastating
and and you can build better things you
can do better better things because
the
ken's number advice and they can say
under the under the perspectives
in the business world yeah
um
[Music]
one thing that i always go back to
um
a few things
coin call most people spend entire lives
of them you don't know who you are if
you don't know who you are you can't
live a productive life ins
my parents were wonderful parents they
did the best job but
business was i is
and everything to make money before his
business built up i think it drive the
bus
while i was getting free from seagate
park the bus in seagate food and fun
above
school and he was drinking
transportation guy turning him the bus
and and then he came back he worked on
his business and he went back and picked
us up and he worked back in his business
but business agreement
that's it the old old-fashioned business
people i feel like
they're both empires
they didn't care about nothing building
today
we're learning that
if you put yourself into something that
you're passionate about
is that you need to know if you don't
know if you're out there and you're
watching this and you don't know what
your talent
was
personality the host was skill sets
ask people
for
yeah okay so that's that's one big
lesson and the other thing is if you
really want to build something big
that's the kicking of scale
that's where i'm going and every step
i'm taking right now
is a brick that i'm building let's do is
watching the clash of friends family
that like
but this is a philosophy this is
i'm not uh i'm not anyone i'm not here
to teach anyone anything this is my
philosophy that
when i take an action today i'm only
going to take this action if i know this
action can be multiplied chosen to move
[Music]
as next to europe
same thing with the platform i'm
building a platform every step i take
is with the idea that there's going to
be millions of people doing this action
so tom of the action sense
fifteen thousand mentioned
that you have to build for scale that's
it if you want to build a podcast in
term of eye stars the episode can see
him hinder
professional the most professional
froome thing you've ever seen that's
what you say
the emails are gonna like english
subtitles you're gonna get ten times the
amount of views
point is that when the birthday podcast
but you have to build it in a way that's
going to go all the way it's my
beautiful podcast studio
because
it's fit for uh for you know elon musk
appreciate you having me i know it was
a long time back and forth but
is
a podcast
this is real i love it real energy thank
you and uh
thank you
yes
[Music]
