I'm Chief Rob Lawson of the Lakewood
Police Department and the purpose of
this press release is to inform the
public about an arrest that was made
this morning um regarding a luring of
two juvenile
females at approximately 8:00 this
morning we received a call of an
attempted luring of a juvenile on 14th
Street specifically Pine Meir Avenue uh
a 14y y old female was approached by a
white male operating a black pickup
truck the male beckoned to the female
several times and attempt to lure her
into the V vehicle the victim who was in
fear for her safety ran home notified
her parents and the vehicle took off in
an unknown
Direction a short time later uh we
received a another call reference a
similar incident involving a 15-year-old
and this was on Kimberly Drive officer
Richard stanik responded to the scene to
take the information while officer Rob
Meyer as well as several other Patrol
officers um patroled the area to attempt
to find the suspect
vehicle officer Rob Meyer was successful
in finding the vehicle on Hope Chapel
Road near Country Club Drive uh
initiated a motor vehicle stop of a 2000
black Nissan Frontier and ended up
arresting the operator the operator is
identified as a n Nicholas
ravala and he resides in Jackson New
Jersey and is 29 years old uh further in
investigation was cont conducted by
detective Steve Wexler who made a
positive identification of the suspect
and the suspect was transported to
Lakewood Police headquarters for further
questioning uh as a result of the
continued investigation and with the
participation of detective Lindsay
Woodfield of the Ocean County
prosecutor's office the uh suspect was
charged with two counts of second degree
luring and two counts of third degree
child endangerment bail was set at the
amount of
$300,000 with no
10% I just want to
um tell the public that it we we
appreciate the cooperation that we
received um from the public in this we
have had several other luring attempts
in the past several weeks and if we
hadn't received these prompt phone calls
um it's uncertain whether we would have
been able to arrest the suspect so

children and if any incidents like this
