good evening this is Mayor Ray KS I'm
talk to you tonight about the blackout
that's affected a large part of town for
the better part of today before I start
I just like to say thank you to all the
volunteers that have been out there shm
havam hola L with EMS the fire
department police department many people
have been out there all day today
Manning intersections to try and make
sure that they remain safe and that
people can get by until power is
restored I also want to acknowledge the
many people who are working for jcpnl
who were diligently trying to get power
restored to everybody know they're
working in a substation they're getting
ready to start trying to do some switch
overs to get power restored as much as
possible I do have to say that I'm
extremely frustrated and very upset at
the reaction to jcp's corporate to this
mess today we've virtually had no
contact with anybody the few times I've
reached out I was unable to get any
information we can't find out what
happened why it happened how many people
are working in town or when it might be
restored now I understand some of these
things are outside of their control but
a little bit more upfront information
might have done a lot towards at least
laying some of the concerns people had
allowing them to make alternate
arrangements for their evenings today so
we will be taking this up with our state
representatives and the BPU we need to
know that the utilities that are charged
with providing power to our Township are
acting in our best interest and I don't
think that's been happening lately so
again I'm sorry for this what's happened
tonight that's ruined so many people's
plans on this holiday I hope us send
appropriate but I hopefully everybody
can still have a very happy Hanukkah
enjoy the rest of the celebration and
hopefully the lights will be back on
soon stay safe thank you
