Lakewood Mayor Announcing Renaming 3rd Street In Honor of Murdered Officer Matlosz

I've just finished speaking with my fellow committee members I have all unanimously decided to honorar rename Third Street as mat Los way this will memorialize and commemorate the great legacy of Chris matlo be number 317 Lake Police Department I'd like to reflect for a moment what it means to make a memory to memorialize a person we know we've seen Memorials of wherever we go we've seen down in Washington DC or whatnot we always see memorials the reason for memorials as follows built into the world is a mechanism called forgetfulness we all perceive generally forgetfulness to be a negative trait unfortunately when we get older we forget things or if we're busy we forget things hey we all forget things I forget things however there's a there's a a positive aspect of forgetfulness as well if a person would have the intense pain constantly they had during the time of tragedy if that intense pain would be with them throughout their life they would not be able to function depression would be so big so built into the grieving process is an aspect of forgetfulness that we sort of tend to water PES under the bridge of time we're able to move on with life we're able to move on that intense pain is not with us the entire time of that tragedy the flip side to that is unfortunately we sometimes then tend to forget the greatness of that person therefore as a whole our Township committee has decided to honorar rename Third Street as mat losos way this will be done publicly at our next Township committee meeting February 3rd Town Hall 7:30 and our main Auditorium downstairs I look forward to seeing you all there
