Lakewood Fire Commissioners Victory Party

I'm pleased to be here this evening with the newly elected fire Commissioners uh my friends Glenn Bradford and Ralph courtoy uh I want to thank the community for supporting the fire department by coming out on a very difficult uh day and night uh Le shabas and Mos shabas when the weather was somewhat unfavorable uh hundreds of Voters turned out to elect these two gentlemen uh who will do a tremendous job in helping to get the fire department Department moving to an even higher level uh to get the cooperation between the volunteers and the paid Personnel um to provide even more efficiency and more fiscal responsibility for the fire department so that we can deliver the best Services um the services that Lakewood residents and businesses really expect from us um I'd like to ask uh Glenn to say a few words and then Ralph uh well first of all I I thank you for um cting myself and Ralph uh I'm elated and um I'm excited one of the things I've realized in my life is uh change is not easy for everybody but I want to let you know that the the change is not a bad one it's going to be very good for both the firefighters volunteer and paid uh for our community to be better and to work together and um with that said I'm going to turn it over to Ralph because I'm again I'm excited I'm a young man and uh this this is this is a exciting time for Lakewood I'm a Young Man Too not as young as Glenn but seriously I I I want to thank uh all of those who came out uh it was very bad weather uh and I'm going to tell you uh I really uh it was I really appreciate uh the support that Glenn and I received uh in the voting and I can tell you this that we uh spoke amongst our our eles and discuss what our goals were and you know for the fire department and basically we are all in agreement uh you know our job is to hopefully uh our first obligation is a moral obligation in terms of helping uh our community providing safety for our community uh with the fire department and obviously uh ensuring that the safety of our firefighters uh are taken care of uh we have an ethical o ation as well uh in terms of you know our my belief is uh that we are here for all of the citizens of this community uh doesn't matter who and it doesn't matter where they live they could live in Leisure Village they could live on Ridge Avenue they could live in 14th Street area uh Glenn and I are going to do our best and with Larry's help as well and the other Commissioners as well uh to take care and again ensure the safety uh of our uh residents of our community of our children uh and obviously to take care of the fire department and uh lastly you know ethically uh we have a fiduciary duty to the taxpayers of this community uh they fund the fire department they you know it's public money and we are going to do our best to see that that money is well spent without compromising the safety of our community and our firefighters and again I thank you for your votes and uh we're going to do our best uh to hopefully have this department grow in terms of volunteers uh and our paid firefighters as well and again I thank you very much that's what I will to say I will cherish it personal put it on very good I don't think you look fit come on he went to make sure it's the right size exactly right one of the words that's amazing where did you get that choke
